DAYZ lags, but not ARMA 2. Need help, have specs

Recommended Posts

Alright, you may remember this topic from awhile back, but I decided to add a new topic because the old thread is dead. Basically, my friend's laptop lags badly whenever playing DAYZ, but it can run ARMA 2 just fine with low graphics. We think it's a problem with his connection, but he says his internet speed is very fast, so we don't know the problem. We tried port forwarding, but it did not work. We have his specs, and need some help.

Symptoms of lag include: Slow movement, delayed turning and movement, general lag

(Apologies if I misused the term "lag")

Model: Toshiba Satelite C855d

Proccessor: AMD E-450 APU with Radio HD Graphics 1.65 GHz

Ram: 4.00 GB

System Type: 64 bit

If I am missing any neccesarry specs or information, please let me know.We hope to have this issue resolved quickly.

My computer is the same sometimes, try turning up some of the graphics elements to high, as having them all on low burdens the CPU quite a bit.

low/normal will be handled by the CPU

high/very high is handles by the graphics card

If that makes sense.

I've noticed that DayZ does cause more fps issues than just normal ARMA II.

Thank you. We have figured out it's a cpu problem, and are figuriing out ways to balance/increase his CPU balance. He definantly runs faster now that we turned off skype video chat while we play
