nikizor 4 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Hello everyone, I am doin some testing with enabling some mods that add to the game make it feel more realistic and more fun.I'll go over what each mod will bring.@AceAce mod is a mod designed to make Arma 2 more realistic, is adds wind effects to bullets, functioning bipods, explosions can blind or deafen you. It is awesome and fun to play, I hope that intergration is easy since acemod is fun to play in regular Arma.@AcsAcs adds the ability to have customizable weapons. When this mod is intergrated, you must upgrade and fix your weapons to maintain them. You can attatch items to your weapons as well, such as flashlights and silencers. Most weapons will spawn broken with this mod, but attatchments can also be scavenged to replace or upgrade.@JSRSThis sound mod adds a larger radius to weapon sounds. This allows for weapons to be heard from 1km away, helicopters can be heard from a large radius and everything sounds much better. Weapons also have more distinct sounds to them instead of generic BIS ones.Civillian Vehicles.-Bell 206 Helicopter, it's a generic civillian chopper that suits the large map much better then other vehicles.-Gyrocopter and other small air vehicles, we can put lots of these intos these into the map without players becoming overpowered it just gives a chance for more players to become airborne.-Mi17, it has heavy lift capability and can tow cars underneath-Sedans, Hatchbacks, Skodas and Pickups,a LARGE amount and varient of civillian vehicles will spawn in on the map to give amore ragged survivor feeling.Airplanes!Since the map I am going use will be large, I will place in a variety of air vehicles including planes such as the AN2 Colt and the C130J.R3F Military LogisticsI will be implementing military logistics into the mission file, you will be able to tow vehicles with pickup trucks, suv, v3s, uralThe Mi17 will be able to airlift any vehicle including helicopters, this means damaged vehicles can be quickly towed away, vulnerablescout cars can be towed behind a larger car such as a ural or v3s. Much fun is to be had with this.Finally, the map.I will be porting Taviana Island to DayZ, I will be adding in all the neccesary components to make it function without modifying the addon or map itself (Like how Namalsk isnt a remake but it uses the map derived, I think lingor is similar. caynug 0 Posted November 5, 2012 Put in acex weapons and I love you forever. I always wanted to have JSRS enabled on a modded dayz server. JSRS also naturally makes gameplay harder since sound distance is longer and zombies notice that too, about 4 months ago I played on an JSRS server it was fun as hell.I think what you are upto is a disaster tho :D I join in a heartbeat, everything with custom weapons and soundmods gets me. My god that would be the worst thing ever on DayZ. It would make it unplayable for me.For those who dont know what the ACE stamina system is: Basically, all your items and guns have weight, if you carry too much weight (And in DayZ you definitely will due to having multiple guns) you can only run so far until you collapse on the floor and can only crawl. You then have to stay still laying down or crouching to get your stamina back (and it takes a while). And if you carry a lot of weight you cannot run far at all, I cant stress enough how annoying it is even in Arma 2, but with DayZ we all know the amount of running you need to do in that game.Unplayable. And are the latest bikeys for SixUpdater JSRS, ST and ACE supported?I don't think this a priority but it would be nice to have everything in single file.Would make backtracking and issue solving easier.I am intently looking forward to this.I am currently getting more familiar with Arma 2 mainly via domination servers and I'll soon switch/try to learn about ACE more in detail.Tried it a bit already and I see how well it could change the dynamic of DayZ.Wind alone will make things much different for ambushing and longer range fighting.Havent been in touch with the community enough recently and I haven't looked in this particularly either yet, but has there ever been a functioning DayZ ACE server up? There are things that need fixing, like weaponspawns.
