Can my computer run the following...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. So my Dad is quite addicted to the computer (up and over 10 hours a day). Making it very troublesome to get on DayZ haha. I can't rattle off our computer specs by heart (and he's on atm so I can't check), but from what I can remember, our specs are:

Windows 7

AMD Processor (can't remember which model and I think it's 3.5GHz, and 6 cores I believe)

16gb RAM

Radeon 7870 Video Card

ASUS Sabertooth Z79 (possibly X77 but I think it's Z79) w/ DDR3

2 TB Hard-drive

And I recommended that we plug two monitors (we have a 27inch -1920 X 1080- monitor, and I bought another one for gaming), into the computer and I can run DayZ and he can run his game. But he says that his game uses too much RAM and is too hard on the computer. Here are the recommended specs for his game:

  • Windows OS: Windows XP/Vista /Windows 7
  • Macintosh OS: OSX 10.6/OSX 10.5
  • Processor: 3 GHz Dual Core or 2.66 GHz Quad Core
  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Hard Drive: 2 GB Free
  • Sound: on-board or better
  • Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 250 or Radeon HD 4850 or better*
  • Broadband Internet Connection

So would it be possible for us to run DayZ and his game at the same time? If you want to see gameplay to get an idea of the graphics of his game check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-3Ww1QfvjU

I get the feeling your dad is on the computer 10 hours a day to get away from stupid questions.
