XAM 48 Posted November 4, 2012 I'm thinking of renting a vilayer hive / private hive from Vilayer.But before I rent one, I'm curious what options are available to me once I've rented it.What can I change? How much freedom do I have with server configuration? B0x73r 14 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) If you want a server thats always broken then choose Vilayer, if you want a server where vehicles despawn after every reset choose Vilayer, if you want a server that takes 24hrs+ to respond to a support ticket....choose Vilayer!They reset your server (all saved date) tents etc all vanish after having it running for weeks and weeks without warning and your server community leave and go else-where. My advice....Dont do it!Except how many vehicles on the server and what time of day the server is, you have NO control! My server is stable, hacker free, tents and vehicles work properly. I have complete control over time, number of vehicles,the condition they are in when they spawn, how cleanup of all objects (including wire fencing) is handled and more. They have a dozen or so different maps that install with a single click to fit your taste. The support generally answers within a few hours of opening a ticket, and the few times I've had extended problems they have made it right by giving me free time or upgrading my server at no charge. Vilayer stays true to the original Day Z ethos of not having admins be a god. If that's what you are looking for then try somewhere else. As for performance it's outstanding. Logging in is nearly instant and there is rarely any lag or desync (especially if you stay up on your restarts) One feature that sold me on Vilayer was the instant setup. My server was up and working literally within 5 minutes of purchasing. I suggest you look into that if you go with another provider. I know from experience some companies can take 24 hours or more to get you set up and running. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

But the bottom 15 vehicles on our server always reset (and change type) after each reset.Vilayer also wiped all their hives of all data - without any warning. We have a passworded server and so the 50 or so people who have the password all raged at all their stuff vanishing and that left us with an almost empty server due to the bugs, which include dying on log-in completely randomly with no set pattern of who or where they were at the time. That aside the pit-fall is without doubt their time to respond to their support tickets and the non-informative reply you will receive. I have only had replys from 2 people and one of them is terrible and the other is somewhat "ok" at diagnosing and fixing the issue.NOTE: i just checked my support tickets and i have 21 different support tickets submitted for seperate things over a 52 day period and most of the issues/bugs are still not fixed and unless you have a pool of 100+ people who play on your server...... expect a very quiet server.
