Rick the Survivor 37 Posted November 3, 2012 In Chernarus people don't usually kill new spawns unless they have too, on Namalsk it is completely different, i saw the same guy die and get killed by three different people when he was a new spawn. I was a new spawn and was killed when all i had was a toolbox. This was on two different servers. Is it that people to not know the map, so they get scared and shoot new spawns anyway, or is it because the bantits from sniper hill, got bored of sniping cherno and electro. Askar 177 Posted November 3, 2012 Huh? Complete opposite experience for me. I find that nearly everyone I run into on Namalsk is friendly. There's still bandits and there's still jerks, but overall people are more willing to cooperate, especially if you're unarmed. I give unarmed guys hatchets/pistols all the time, and they're usually grateful enough to not shoot me with them.
Kay (DayZ) 8 Posted November 3, 2012 I'm currently playing Namalsk, I'm not a bandit, and I've run into a couple of friendly people. I think the map is condusive to banditry though, simply because of all the military spawns.Has anybody found any vehicles in Namalsk?
Womb Raider 92 Posted November 3, 2012 I can't really say much about that, I just started playing Namalsk tonight and I've encountered about three people so far, one of them just randomly tried to axe me to death after I tried to talk to him so I killed him, the other fired at me so I ran off and the other guy I helped as he was being chased by some zombies. I hope to see more friendly people, people seem to be more friendlier on some private hives.I'm currently playing Namalsk, I'm not a bandit, and I've run into a couple of friendly people. I think the map is condusive to banditry though, simply because of all the military spawns.Has anybody found any vehicles in Namalsk?Numerous boats but nothing else yet. They've all been abandoned along the coast by people as they've run out of fuel.
scouski 1 Posted November 3, 2012 Generally, people in groups aren't friendly because they're using a third party application for communication. Although, I have come across quite a few friendly survivors in Namalsk, most of them being unarmed.. quite a lot of the PVP is just out of fear of being shot themselves. Like Kay said, it's probably because of the abundance of military loot on Namalsk, not to mention food and other supplies such as match boxes being pretty rare. jdz (DayZ) 238 Posted November 3, 2012 I had to kill a fresh spawn the other day because he was running towards the military place I was about to leave and he could've taken a gun from there and killed me easily. There's just to many places to spawn

xx_fr0st-w0lf_xx 53 Posted November 3, 2012 I have found more friendlies on Namalsk in 1 week then I did on Chern in 1 month.Out of the 13 people that said they were friendly on Namalsk, 12 were friendly. That is pretty damn good if you ask me
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted November 3, 2012 You see with chat enabled I find more people willing to be friendly. Only today a player was freezing to death and needed some heat pads, I obliged and met him near south base! He lived and he kindly gave me his car, which I promptly tried to fill up and crashed, and the zombies ate me slowly. Not ten mins later I was with another stranger giving him blood and he in turn sorted me out and off we went. Even had a kid on voice help me out, I typed he spoke, was a surprise to meet a 14 year old who didn't open up with his weapon. We played a while and had a laugh! I gave him blood Nd he logged out.I find Namalsk a friendly place because the environment requires you help each other!
Siberian (DayZ) 527 Posted November 3, 2012 yea i have found with the harsher climate and rarer loot that people behave closer to what Dayz was like before the KoS epidemic thats infected every other map.Namalsk is the best DayZ experience going rite now if u ask me. Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted November 3, 2012 My experience when we first opened up our server (Namalsk) it was all out war roughly 49 players on most the time and people were getting murdered everywhere armed or not. After it was open for a for a week or so the killing leveled it self out as I noticed the same people returning to the server were starting to team up and work together rather than a slaughter fest. Help or not we had side channel enabled and I think people were able to utilize it for teaming up and making friendly parties. I have yet to see medic's roll in on the server because its way to dangerous at this point. Even though groups are teaming up and it is still better people are adjusting to the new map and will still drop you faster than you can say friendly right now. After giving it some more time and people getting used to the lay out I think we will see more medics and such surface. (my opinion)
thelonewarrior 886 Posted November 4, 2012 Ivve met 3 friendly survivors or groupsNumber 1 heli tried to pick me up, accidently hit a tree and crashed in the water. His friend came running up a few minutes later and escorted me to a nearby base as I was unarmed. He fired at a bandit that was watching us and the bandit fled. Then he gave me his M4 SD CCO and logged outNumber 2 I was in dire need of a blood transfusion, a car rolled up near me and they transfused me and asked if I wanted to go along but I declined.Number 3, I log in, 5 people on the server. I see a heli crash (player heli crash, not standard) I run up to see a guy with a hachet looting. We determine we are friendly when the pilot that crashed returns in a gilli with AS50 and M4. He protects us while we repair a car.I have to log off so gilli guy gives me his M4 and his AS50 to the other guy

Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted November 4, 2012 I was seriously liking the map at first because it was a dangerous place to play, Then it became where everyone was just running around, all clueless and in need of help / co-operation. It changed a lot of players as I have never known players to be as approachable since month after mod popularity. You will always get the killers and bandits, I figure they are the ones who don't use chat.
mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Everyone I bumped into was a coward.I'm shouting "FRIENDLY! You need food? Heatpacks? I have some Pepsi you can have!" everyone kept running away!I saw one of them trying to sneak up on me too. But he turned and ran when I told him I could see him.I guess I missed the Namalsk good old days. <_<EDIT: It's a beast of a map though! I was lost for ages!!! thelonewarrior 886 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Theres nothing like having an infection, on top of a mountain in the rain in the middle of the night, starving, thirsty, barely unable to see and only have a few rounds left.....only to stumble across a heli crash well hidden in the woods with that one 'glowing' can of pepsi waiting for you which is just enough to reach the next settlementThis is how Dayz should be Edited November 4, 2012 by Regulator Lone Warrior
tommes 331 Posted November 4, 2012 In Chernarus people don't usually kill new spawns unless they have too...You have to if they go to Cherno, Elektro or if they move their eyebrow. ^^
narwaljunior 18 Posted November 4, 2012 Well, your experience may be different, but in my gameplay time I've ran into more friendlies than bandits. Since its a small map, you're bound to run into someone especially if it is a full server. I was running around the old hospital and these guys said they had eyes on me, then I heard bullets slam next to me. It turns out they were shooting the zombies chasing me, so I figured they were friendly and we saluted over 200 m. A little while later these guys were running a safe haven for survivors in Object all bunker. They had this place locked down with snipers overwatching(legit ones) and people watching the ladder. Our run was cut short by air strikes from a hacker.. but it was really fun.Another time when I was leaving the bunker, I found this PBX boat and picked up two guys. We drove around the islands and grabbed millitary loot. I had found a ghillie at Vorkuta, and this guy saw me and came up. We just stared at each other and I called out I was friendly in direct chat(it was on). He shot me with a makarov so I loaded him up with mine then hit him with 3 CZ rounds. I got fixed up by my buds and we went to some western camps. Found a guy looting it and he shot me with his makarov.. my slugs entered his face from many directions. We went down to object all to see how the bunker was holding up, and thats when we found a second PBX boat. Our little boat convoy landed near object all and went to check crash sites, turns out we found a ghillie. As he put it on both of our legs broke and I was killed. Not sure if glitch or hacker, but it was fun.
bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted November 4, 2012 ~15 out of 15 player encounters have been hostile. If I was ever in a real zombie apocalypse, I wouldn't want to be stuck on an island full of military bases.
SwissArmy (DayZ) 5 Posted November 4, 2012 Found both friendly and bandits. Also found lots of vehicles. Worth picking up tires, fuel parts, engines, etc fairly quickly. Also found lots of helicopter crashes which are great to get top-line gear.

*Regulator* Jackeroo 14 Posted November 5, 2012 Most of the people I've encountered on namalsk are friendly actually, more than Chernarus or Lingor I've found. Me and 3 other friendlies randomly met up and almost fixed a pickup until my old UAZ came bursting through the trees and towards the warehouse, one of the friendlies nicked it and drove off and a bandit killed the other two who was then picked off by me with an M14.
