Please dont let the DayZ mod die yet.... SA is (said) to come!

Recommended Posts

Everyone looking forward and are excited for the december release of DayZ standalone...

This is the jungledrum speaking.. ofcourse from reliable sources you could find in a single mouseclick..

But still, actions doesnt always follow up on its words..

So please dont let the mod die yet, keep the updates coming and fight whoever is fighting to ruin it, Eg: hackers/warZ

For all you know. The SA might not even come for months.

WarZ hasn't done nothing to DayZ.

WarZ is made for 10 year old kids.

I can't wait for the SA and as for "scripters" u can't stop them in the MOD.

I really hope he takes his time when creating standalone, something that isint rushed. I want things like zombie AI to be spot on when its realeased.I honestly wouldn't mind waiting a few extra months if it means a better game.

Wtf is this? The mod is very much alive. we have thousands of servers up and running with anywhere from 0-40 players in each of them.

Rocket said when he told us about the standalone that he would continue to develop and fix known bugs in the game. He hasnt been dedicating as much time and power as he was before confirmation of the standalone, but he has continued to work on both.

As for the standalone taking months for it to release. We were told end of october/beginning of November for a release date. Scratch october off the list and cross your fingers for november.

In the mean time go play the free mod with the thousands of other fans who are continuing to support and enjoy the beautiful game mod that is Dayz

The mod will not die, If terh community runs with it after SA release it can only get better. look what they have done for the mod since certain groups got hold of it.

It will expand and it will be funny watching people buy Arma 2 all over again because the mod adds things faster than SA and is more experimental.

It will be released in alpha stage. Once its stable and has enough features for us to actually play is when it will be released. Everything else will continue to be worked on.

I will never leave DayZ, I cannot wait for the Standalone and I dough the Mod will die.

I was going to buy WarZ, but to be honest... It looks shit.

For any of you wondering, warz is poor mans DayZ. Plus it's pretty bad so far. I bought it but the core of the game just doesn't work with what its trying to do

i fully plan to leave the MOD once SA comes out, i'll also be trying WarZ with an open mind..

if its good i'll play it aswell..

but for me the MOD will def. see an end once the SA is out. at that point i can see no reason to continue playing it tbh

I fully expect DayZ Mod to be drained of players to the point it's not worth actively developing new features for it. Small bug fix maintenance releases would seem the most plausible -- if anything.

Of course, the player base could prove me wrong on that. As long as lots of people play, the mod won't "go" anywhere and stuff will get actively written for it. I just think that everyone interested in DayZ Mod will be jumping to DayZ Standalone the day it releases. I'm fully expecting my little offshoot of DayZ to die off in accordance with this speculation. Again, I could be proven wrong by the player base. If I am wrong, I'll continue to develop for it.

But as long as Rocket gets to release exactly what he wants to release for the first incarnation of DayZ Standalone, I think it will takeover -- and rightfully so.

If the mod has no endgame or whatsoever hackers keep ruining others endgame..

This is the case as of today. If rocket or other devs say SA will be like this mod. And they dont add content to keep people occupied there will probably be a large amount of the base moving on to other crops. Noit that it matters for the gameplay of DayZ SA. but it matters for the producers ;)
