Game Style Differntiation - more clear. Making your Character - unique.

I think that Everyone, who have ever tried DayZ has his own, personal style of play!

So what's about adjusting the character in the game to those one, who plays it?

I mean we make our characters and customize them.

I will divide this thread into subthreads.

Body Customization.

I know that face customization exists in Arma 2 OA, but it's not that easy to use.

I think Having a "Character Creation" Screen would be better.

Setting your character face, to look like you want to.

Height, Weight will define how the character looks, and his speed/damage Reduction.

Example: If you are small and light you can run very fast, but you are much more suspectible to injuries, or any kind of traumas.

Example 2: If you are very tall and Heavy, you are not that fast, but you master Melee Weapons much better, and some kind of damage may be absorbed by your fat (This is true - Fat people are more protected from bullets then others)

Or, for exampe you wanna have specific hairstyle, or be Black skinned etc.

What's Your opinion about this?

Game playing style.

As far as i know there are 5 Game play styles available for postapoalyptic world.

1- Hunter

2- Bandit

3- Sniper

4- Item Farmer

5- Zombie killer

There is no real definition in how character looks, if they have on of this styles of play.

But, let's make it Visible.

For example, if you are hunter, you will more likely to wear warm clothes from animals, or may be some heavy leather armor made for them. If somebodys see a guy in Animal skins, they can say - it's a hunter - he is more likely to be friendly.

Bandit. Bandit is more likely to wear some Military-style armor. It will help him in PvP fights. If you see someone heavy armed, and in Warfare clothes, you can say - it's a bandit, better to hide.

Sniper wears camo. It's unlikely that you will see him until he shots you, but if you see someone in Camo and with rifle, Shoot!

Item farmer - Easy, light Clothes, that will make him faster then others. If you see someone running very fast and in very light clothes, he will be more likely to be friendly, and posses items for trade

Zombie killer - the funniest characters. They love to cut zombies, and kill them with crossbows. Friendly or not - hard to say, they can wear different uniform

In Summary i would like to say that i am against class ideas. What my idea is, that you can say if someone is more likely to friend or foe from distance. That would help the game mechanics.

I AM NOT ASKING OR PROPOSING A CLASS SYSTEM!

What i am looking for, is that Every charcacter to be unique - by how he looks (hairstly, height, weight), and what clothes he wears.

This is not what DayZ is about. You should never be able to 'roll' your character for what you want to do with it.

Everyone has an even playing field because no one has anything everyone else cannot obtain themselves.

I'm not against customization, no, but I do not want to see the ability to change your character's body to give different effects.

The clothing is a minor issue, and should just be rectified by the ability to make/find new sets.

Yes maybe youre right, and there is no need to invent 'Attributes' Okay, but that's what developers decide. Still i think that we should make customized body for our characters.

Different Hairstyles - will be of course very good

What a bout clothing.

I think that if you are a hunter, it should be seen that you are, just looking how u clothed.

If someone sees a hunter, he will probably think that he is friendly, because hunters tend to kill animals and zombies, not humans.

My point IS:

Make Each Character look specific.

Big variation of different clothes, that will define the way you play.

If you are a hunter: You will more likely to weare Warm clothes made from Animal skin and fur.

Of you are a bandit, you are more likely to be like a Modern USA solder, Helmet, Automatic rifle etc...

That's my point.

Find/craft and equip clothes that you want to look like.

I dont want to wear that shit baseball cap! I want to wear Hat made from Fox Fur. Why not? Give the choices!
