shamefuldirty 1 Posted November 1, 2012 When I start a new game, even on the same server I was just on, my equipment resorts to default. Anybody have any ideas about this? Im using the "Play with six" server finder to play games at the moment. Got the steam version of arma 2 as well.
V2_Danny 48 Posted November 1, 2012 Do your character reset to previous location?
AIRCAV 62 Posted November 1, 2012 After you die, your equipment is reset. You don't get to keep it.You also need to make sure, if you're still alive and switch servers, that they're on the same network (hive). I like to keep "hide unofficial servers" checked, using dayz commander.Hope this helps,Aircav.

AIRCAV 62 Posted November 1, 2012 I would suggest reposting in the technical support forum. You are sure that disconnecting from a server, with equipment in your inventory, and reconnecting to the same server results in you restarting at the shoreline, with starter equipment (I.e. almost nothing)?Sounds as though a file isn't getting written or read correctly. Obvious checks- correct version of arma2, oa, and dayz mod? Anti virus or firewall set too high security-wise? Does your arma directory have write permissions set?AC

Azrail (DayZ) 211 Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Sorry, what is write permissions set? Not massively computer savvy, Know a bit, but not a huge amount.he is asking if your windows user account has write access on the arma 2 installation folder, which shouldn't matter in your case.actually, its a hive issue. your stuff is saved on the hive, a central database for everything, which isunder heavy permanent stress, which can cause extrem delay or even data loss.if you keep loosing your stuff over a longer time, something prevents your data to be stored on the hive.did you try different servers?did you try on official/public servers?did you try on latest arma/dayz versions?i advice to use dayzcommander, that will make everything dayz related super easy.that way you can also make sure you play on up-to-date and official servers, first thing you should do if something isn't working as expected. V2_Danny 48 Posted November 2, 2012 When logging out of an occicial hive atleast, only abort to the servers main screen (the one with names and ping) At that point the server still has your location, and if you go back into the server without exiting it completely, you will spawn where you left, you can now leave the server. shamefuldirty 1 Posted November 3, 2012 New thing, it now keeps spawning me as I was in the middle of nowhere with a few items of equipment I claimed. If I carry on playing it still resets me as I was in the last location with the same equipment again. So I could find guns, food, full load of blood, like i did before, but when I log back in again it has me near a farm house again with some basic stuff I had collected a few days ago. When logging out of an occicial hive atleast, only abort to the servers main screen (the one with names and ping) At that point the server still has your location, and if you go back into the server without exiting it completely, you will spawn where you left, you can now leave the server.Sorry I don't get that, abort, go to server screen. Still has my location. With you so far. Then if I go back into the server without exiting it I will spawn where I left? So I go back into the game again your saying? Then I abort again?
