New Item Addition - Surveillance Cameras

Recommended Posts

While playing DayZ I thought of a really fun and interesting item that could be a solid addition to the item DB.

Surveillance Cameras.

It could be implemented very similarly to in Black Ops where you can plant a surveillance camera and a new window could pop up with that cameras vision. It'd make maintaining a base/camp much easier knowing that you have a perimeter covered by a camera. Obviously since the item would be very powerful it should be rare and maybe only a few per each map, but I still think it'd make an amazing addition.

Let me know if you agree

PiP not possible with Arma 2 engine. Also, how you would power your network of LCD monitors in the wilderness?

I was going under the assumption that it would be a portable camera with maybe an LCD accompanied with it to view the images? And that's a bummer that it wouldn't work in the engine, I think it'd be very cool.

No, we don't need high tech gadgets in the zombie apocalypse.

Too high tech, we're already stocked up with nv goggles, rangefinders and gps. I'd love to see bear traps, noise makers, landmines, and punji pits instead.
