Bear traps

Hi guys,

I came across and picked up a bear trap the other day. I've never found one before and unfortunately died before being able to use it. Has anyone succefully used one before? I.e killed someone with it (if it does indeed kill) or Injure someone.

I was thinking its good for Confined spaces like the firestation tower etc.

Be good to hear if anyone has used it to its full potential and how regularly available they are.

Yeah I have. I put one up, tried picking it up, it disappeared and when I walked over the spot that I had set it on, I broke my legs. I haven't found any lately but I doubt I would even pick one up if I saw one.

They're really rare, but once we came across one in a barn. We set it up at our camp infront of the tent and I believe we got someone, but the tent gear was still taken, and the UAZ gone :P

Mostly I hear about people placing them in front of cars door to troll people.

They can kill animals and break bones, but can be ridden over by any vehicle with no damage whatsoever, including a bicycle.

I've used one to secure myself and a buddy in the market at Stary. We used it to block the back room and watch the front while the worst sniper/grenadier of all time tried to engage us. After a failed frontal assault, he went around back and set off the trap. He then logged out. But when I heard that snap I laughed so hard. Made my night.

I've found a couple but can never be arsed lugging them around so I just set them in the woods somewhere and leave them.

Do they survive server resets?

I had 2 stored in a bus on my current home server... The bus disappeared on a server reset before I could use either of them. u,u

I haven't found much use for them in the past. I did have some fun with some when I found a tent that had loads of them duped though. I blocked all the entrances and filled a lot of the floor with them in a supermarket and then watched from a distance as people ran in and broke their legs.

Cruel fraggie, very cruel but I like it!!! Can u get into a car with a broken leg? I've got a car hidden in the woods and the suggestion early about placing one in front of the car door is a good one. Not much point though if you can still drive off.

I've gotten on an ATV with broken legs, after I tried blowing up said ATV with a satchel charge... it didn't work as planned.

Yes, you can get in a car with broken legs. The trap isn't to stop them from stealing the car, but rather to slow them down and sort of "get back" at them for stealing your car. It will also make them think twice before just running up to a car and getting in it.

Edit: You can also place them in front of other people's cars to, as i said earlier, troll them.
