Securing a town.

I was wondering if it could be possible to implement some sort of system to allow small villages to be barricaded, without zombies walking through barbed wire or spawning inside the barricaded area, I'd love to start building a settlement for fellow survivors and stuff life that.

Not now, but maybe when they fix sandbags, tank traps, and barbed wire.

I don't care if Barbed wire doesn't kill them, but I hope atleast it will slow them down and/or damage them when walking through...

Otherwise, yeah I'd like that, too.

well at the minute zombies are too boss for mere barbed wire, will have to wait until they cant get through barbed wire

Rocket has mentioned that he wants to add more construction into the game, but more like from scratch. Underground bases built from scratch and stuff like that :).

Would be cool if you could secure a town though, stop zombies spawning in there! :)

this has been so much discussed. Well, pick a scenario and try to bring it to a game, hard and resource heavy, or not, just changing the way zombies spawn, plus with the suggestions of clean and dirt you could say the smell of rotten flesh bring the dead to your village, so you burn all the bodies, this could call the atention to a lot of zombies, but if you can make them not reclaim the city and still make a low profile zombies wouldnt bother so much. In a way it could be the cities that aggro a certain number of zombies, player movements, death and other actions influence the city zombie agroing, remember that the zombies should spawn in the outskirts of the cities, faking that they roam the land.

So good humanity actions like helping a fellow survivor, sharing food, medic stuff, fixing, cleaning, burning the bodies of the dead, and killing lots of zombies could decrease zombie spawn. the oposite could make it worse

But rocket does not want cities to become the bases, maybe in the future he will put it, for a number of reasons like ghosting inside the bases and killing everyone whos unaware, its caves that will be the bases.

Building a wooden wall or stone wall would be an awesome addition. But a small town actually considered "fortified" would be a target for retarted bandits...
