How I See DayZ

Recommended Posts

In its most basic form:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner%27s_dilemma

In its DayZ variant, there are two survivors and one pile of loot. If one survivor betrays the other, they get the whole pile, while if neither betrays the other, they share and end up with less loot individually. However, with the added element of zombies and other enemy players, it's actually more beneficial for the survivors to cooperate as it increases their chances of long-term survival.

In any event, it's a social experiment I freaking love.

Not really. Coordination is more important than numbers. Some guy with a DMR could pick off a group of 10 people from a kilometer away without any trouble. Not to mention the other survivor is not obligated to cooperate with you, and is not bound by the same things he would be in real life. Prisoner's dilemma doesn't really apply here.
