Help this complete n00b

Recommended Posts

So I just recently bought ARMA2 and ARMA:OA and I barely played any of them when I saw this mod and decided to play it. Well I looked at all the beginers guides etc. but there isnt any tutorials on how to use gear etc. I know how to do the basics ie: Go prone, crouch, open gear bag, change weapons, etc. but I still have yet to figure out how to apply bandages and use my gear etc. Any help or redirection to a tutorial on how to do all this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure if you already did check it, but you might want to check out this thread: Index of Helpful Threads.

Answer to your question: You can use the gear items by right clicking on the icons on right side of gear menu.

I moved your thread to New Player Discussion area.

most items are used via the inventory. press 'G' and then right click on what you want to use and it will show you the relevant action for the selected item.

shift items around with the arrows in the left menu list, open your bag and then click the right arrow to move the item into your inventory.

Same way to move it from your inventory to your bag...etc

When you're bleeding, open your inventory and right click on a bandage and left click on "Bandage Myself" or whatever it says.

Right clicking on most things in the inventory will enable its action if it is applicable. For example, if you right click on a water bottle anywhere that can't provide you fresh water, it will say something like "Find a fresh water source to fill your bottles." But if you are near a lake/pond/water pump and click "Fill Water" it will say " X Bottles of water have been filled" where X is the number of previously empty bottles you had in your inventory (not backpack).

For things like maps and compasses, your watch, GPS, you can press (by default) the "M" key and it will open the map with all the aforementioned gear on display as well. If you're in the field and wish to check your compass or watch then you can press the "K" and "O" keys, respectively, to have them pop on screen. I think there is a key for the GPS, I just don't know it.
