Got DayZ installed cant connect to servers please help

So ive had arma 2 combined ops for a month but only recently got dayz installed correctly

i tried dayzcommander but the instalation does not work it saise instalation failed. Same with the other program. I got it installed fbut i cant connect it seems some files are missing from the manual download this is getting really frustrating i get it installed play it then try to connect to servers and it either saise bad connection bad version or you are missing downloadable content.
