First hacker encounter

My buddy got shot with either a VSS vintorez or a Bizon (we weren't sure) I went to investigate, managed to get 2 or 3 winchster shots on him, saw him go prone (guess I didn't hit anything vital) then he vanished, no body, no crawling or rolling away he just vanished. After that I just decided, better log off before he teleport hack kills me

The guy you shot at just logged off. wait till 1.7.1 and keep shooting bodies till you get a murder or bandit count.

Because there are 17,000 threads about how lame it is to be able to log off in the middle of combat so you don't lose your gear. But anyway, he just logged off.

there was no log off message, my buddy did not see him leave the server

also I know he was using either one of those two due to the distinctive gun / bullet noises

I believe that this basically was my first direct encounter with a hacker. One of our group members heard a vehicle driving around, that wasn't one of our two. We saw the V3S come over the hill, and we opened fire on it. The driver died, and as we approached and checked its gear, we found MGs and G36Cs inside, which aren't available to Day Z. The hacker had a bunch of stuff on him, but we didn't touch any of it. We threw a grenade at the car, and that was that.
