tiktoc 0 Posted October 27, 2012 Ok so recently i have been thinking about how terrible valve is at catching hackers for almost everygame on steam that uses a valve engine there VAC2 anticheat is completely terrible, Thinking about this topic made me think about something for Dayz. I think it would be completely worth it since dayz is kind of competitve zombie kill scores or player kill scores, Why not use a custom anti-cheat instead of battle-eye which obviously doesnt disable scripting on the player side like ESEA does. There has been very few cheaters in esea that are able to actually play a few games before getting banned. Why cant there been a an anti-cheat for dayz that actually works? The standalone isnt going to be very productive when there is going to be a way to hack in it within the first 1-3days of launch. Why not build an anticheat thats updated every few hours so its literally impossible to crack the codes. ESEA does a good job at that there stuffs updated constantly. I mean hell is there even a screenshot client? Its pretty obvious to spot a screenshot when hes got ESP on and such... So many ways around the cheaters yet the game has no focus towards resolving them because there are "Scripts" that are doing it. if you had to launch a cheat client before launching the game or only launch the game out of a cheat client and that client was updated frequently daily hourly. A lot of problems with hackers would be solved.I know this is a mod and is not its own game, But there is stuff that can be done to prevent all the BS people are going through on a daily basis. Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted October 27, 2012 Have you read through some of the other threads where hacking has been discussed at extreme length?

Serious Stan 202 Posted October 27, 2012 So, your suggestion is to make an anticheat that works?Did i understand this right. Do you feel smart now?
Josh225 129 Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) I heard that the devs are pretty confident that the hacking in standalone will be locked down. As for the mod, play private hives lol. Edited October 28, 2012 by Josh225
birdman 108 Posted October 28, 2012 DayZ-SA will be patched and updated continuously after launch following not only Minecraft's business model but most other "open games". Plus as Arma 3 is released both games (Arma 3 and DayZ) will utilize and send updates to battle-eye often thus (hopefully) increasing it's effectiveness.. Give it time and all things will improve. Also,Use the search function, scumbag!
tiktoc 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Scumbag? No this topic was not discussed and an attatchment is far off from my topic. Obviously you have never played in a public league such as esportsea or caleague. Every competitive game has a STANDALONE anti-cheat. And my suggestion was to try to add this game into a competitive league play and it is possible. If you have not played in a league you do not know what a pre-run anticheat is. And my idea was to add SCREENSHOT content into Dayz because of the fact that ***ERS run scripts which show ESP etc etc. Hence catching the hacker quicker. A screenshot anti-cheat preloaded before launching dayz would solve most problems and would take little effort to code. As far as the other topics sure something may have been discussed but i posted this one as a new idea. Obviously a few of the people that responded were complete retards and do not understand the concept of a STANDALONE Anti-Cheat which you have to RUN before launching DAYZ. And no i never got into the halflife games they were decent back in the day but when cs1.6 started out that is when i got into pc gaming.
BwobBwub 660 Posted October 28, 2012 Bohemia Interactive made a contract wit battleye so battleye is the official anticheat system for their games. Im guessing battleye will be used in the standalone as BI are publishing DayZ
Riem 164 Posted October 28, 2012 Bohemia Interactive made a contract wit battleye so battleye is the official anticheat system for their games. Im guessing battleye will be used in the standalone as BI are publishing DayZSomehow that doesn't inspire confidence. But anyway, on to OP's point. First, it's been discussed, at length, how hacking and cheating and the like will be dealt with. We'll likely have a BE version dedicated solely to the DayZ - SA version.I find it rather silly that you think the devs wouldn't have already decided to have their own version of an anticheat.
