Hacked, but anything broken about it?

Hi, recently I popped a cap in a hacker's a$$ near elektro while making my way to the barn north of it, and he had an M40A3 on his person. I looked it up and it seems to be just an M24 with camo on it, same damage, same scope. Should I be able to use it, or not touch it with a 10 foot pole, as we speak I'm on the hill with it in my pack, waiting to drop it on a zombie.

The general rule to follow should be not to use or carry hacked gear. People have different opinions on it but the fact is an admin can ban you for carrying it. If you're really unlucky he can add you to the CBL meaning you'll get banned from multiple servers.

That's saddening to think that there is 'nothing' for admins/hoster/dev to look/meddle with to know where/when and how player x got item z and for reason y..

Imagine if you didnt like someone and figured being a saddist to them is appropiate. Befriend them, give them some hacked-gear and then call foul and hope they'll be banned for all the wrong-reasons.
