How do you mark on a map without a GPS

Hold left shift and click on where you want to go with the left mouse button.

That's really only helpful on server that have waypoints turned on though.

WP:1 in the server name.

EDIT:

Unless you mean just put text on the map.

Double click on the map and type your comment.

Keep in mind, those comments are visible to other players.

If they have waypoints on, you'll see a little marker telling you how far away from that point you are.

The shift - click method will allow you to see the waypoint on your HUD when you don't have your map out, thats assuming the server has them enabled. If your trying this and it's not working then just try another server, I find most servers have them enabled but sometimes come accross one that doesnt.
