I need help. I tried using your stickys

Recommended Posts

I'll just start from the beginning (I'll highlight important stuff in yellow and I'll add a TL;DR) which began yesterday. I bought Arma II and CO from Steam. I came to your site and went to your NPD (New player Discussion) and went to the index of helpful threads. I used the install guide (video) one first, went through all of the things he said I needed to do. Installed the Arma II launcher, ect ,ect. When I try and log into the game now I get this:

These are some of the errors I get:

Addon 'dayz_anim' requires 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack' - This happens when starting up the game through Steam and the Arma II launcher

No entry 'bin\config.bin/Cfg.vehicles/Citizen1.scope'. -This comes up after the game starts in Steam and Arma II launcher

You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus, rmod in both as well

And this comes up every time I try to play on a server.

Now since that way didn't work. I tried the just the regular install guide for steam and I still get the same errors. If someone could please help me out you don't know how much I would appreciate it.

TL;DR Errors suck, followed video guide then steam install guide and neither are working for me, what do.

Thank you for your time

I agree with williamp. Also, why would you buy CO AND arma 2? CO is arma 2 and operation arrowhead.

I didn't know this at the time when I was buying it. I figured I needed to have Arma 2 to run CO. They had a deal going on in Steam and both of them together came to a total of 30$ so it's not like it put a hole in my pocket.

DayZ install wiki (with Steam overlay)

I did this to make it work with Steam.

Make a shortcut to launch ARMA2 Beta with Steam Overlay (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Open Steam.
  2. Click the Games menu.
  3. Click Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
  4. Click Browse.
  5. Navigate to, most likely, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta. If you are not running 64-bit Windows, remove (x86) from the path.
  6. Choose arma2oa.exe.
  7. Click Open.
  8. Click Add Selected Programs.
  9. Open your Steam Library.
  10. Right-click arma2oa in your games list, and choose Properties.
  11. Rename it from "arma2oa" to "DayZ".
  12. Set the Target to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" "-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2;Expansion;ca;@dayz" -nosplash If you had to modify the path in step 5, do so here as well.
  13. Set the Start In line to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead If you had to modify the path in step 5, do so here as well.
  14. Click Close.

You should now be able to run the game from within Steam using the "DayZ" shortcut.
