FPS Issues - 6950 2GB (2x 2gb) Crossfire

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Had this issue for a while but turned my crossfire off to fix it.

Whats happening is when i run crossfire the game hits 30fps and pretty much stays there, when i turn it off i'm running at 40-50, this is still lower than i expect with my rig;

2x 6950 2GB (tried oc'ing it with no difference)

i5 2500k @ 3.8

16gb Gaming ram (cant remember speeds)

MSI GD65-Blah mobo (not sure if it's double 16x pci-e slots or 16x and 8x)

120gb Agility 3 Sata3 SSD (c500mb/s up down)

3x 24" monitors running @ 5760*1080

any ideas?

When running in crossfire mode, did you try adding "-winxp" to your command line for running Combined Ops? I've heard that this is the best way to make sure that ARMA 2/Dayz takes advantage of dual GPUs.

When running in Crossfire mode, did you try disabling Vsync?

Beyond that, maybe it's a driver issue and rolling back to a previous version could potentially help, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Damn, I was hoping to see a working fix for your issue. I was going to purchase another 6950 to crossfire as well instead of spending the money on a 7970... that way I can wait for the HD 8000 series to come out. Now I don't know what to do :(
