An old newbe

Hi everyone and anyone reading this

I'm newish to DayZ, I recently bought ArmA2 Combined Operations on the 18/10/12 (10/18/12 for you Americans :B) I have been for some time watching people play this epic mod, for this awesome game, such as Devil Dog and Sidestrafe. I've been a not so active member of this site, but I've been here and their looking at this and that ;). As just said, I've just started playing, and there is a couple of things that have been bugging me, how do you go into 3rd person view, and also how do you exit a vehical? I've looked everywhere on the control menu, but cant find either of them. Also I'm playing on a shitty laptop that wasn't really made for these sorta games, it plays them but they're laggy as hell even with low graphic performance and low 3D effects but is there a way anyone know that'll make my laptop run this better, i dont know what moddel it is, but if you say something that'll help me out, could you please not put it into a language computer geeks can only understand as that 'does not compute' with me, and i'll try to do that thing that you suggested.

I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in here and doing some serious zombie killing. I've already met some people, a player and some guy in a guilley suite...freaked the hell out of me, I was in my pack, came out of it and there was some green bush standing in front of me holding a pistol at me, i told him i was new and unarmed and then he left without killing me...best day so far anyway

how do you go into 3rd person view, and also how do you exit a vehical?

Its the enter button on the Numpad so unless you change it in the controls then you have to swap it with the button on your laptop and to exit a vehicle just scroll or press "[" or "]" until it says exit then press the normal enter :)

Enter on NUMPAD to go 3rd person...and if you are on a lappy I assuem you MAY not have that. Best to rebind it. Getting out of vehicles(and a lot of actions in this game like climbing ladders and switchign weapons) is accomplished by scrolling the mousewheel, and selecting what you want.

GFX. Turn Antialiasing(or however its spelled) off/disabled. When you go to the gfx option there is an "Advanced button". Go there and what I would do is turn everything to low/off and then go up from there. One thing is that DayZ has a set "View Distance" so dont bother changing that. Anyway...good luck. Be prepared for heartache and rage and excitement and jerks.

Also in case you dont know. 'V' is how you "jump over" items. It's more of a step over button.
