Hacker ruined our game

Hi guys, a group of us found a helicopter for the first time and having fun roaming around Chernaraus. When a friend of ours jumped out accidentally and died, we then picked him up when he re spawned and decided to go back to his corpse. Whilst he was looting his corpse, we were just waiting for him outside our helicopter. Then suddenyl a guy in a ghillie teleported to us, and then killed on of our group. I then tried to shoot, (shot him 3 times in the head with a dmr) he didnt die. He then killed me with a random explosion. Then as he flew off my friend who just got his stuff back, (as the guy didnt see him) tried to shoot the heli down, only to find all his gear suddenly disappear. This guy was definitely a hacker and ruined our first use with a helicopter, after looking up his profile he literally only just joined the game. Here are the details:

This happened at about 13:35 GMT on the 20/10/2012 near Kamenka on the server : DayZ - DE 641 (v1.7.2.6/Beta 96584) [VETERAN|3DP:ON|CH:ON][G

Unfortunately we only have this image after my friend died of the guy hes obviously the one standing up, we were filming but my friend stopped whilst we were on the ground to save video memory which is gutting but nonetheless I hope the photo is useful.

Thanks for clearing that up. Having played for several months, gone through the installation process of what is obviously a mod and then losing our helicopter to a hacker, the thing we really needed was a pendantic clarification of an irrelevant fact.

That's why I am not playing until standalone. When they can actually do something about hackers. Because I hate hackers, I've met hackers, I''ve played with hackers. I hate them. They take away the fun of the game and I simply cannot find any enjoyment in finding all the best gear, then falling 200 meters to my death in the ocean. The only way to have good gear is to hack it in or not play. Either are stupid options. I just feel bad for the people who are just joining now and are getting throwing into a DM, hacking, clusterfuck fest.

It's not irrelevant. THIS IS A MOD. Arma is open and exploitable, and that's how it was designed to work. It was never meant to be something like DayZ! Don't take this mod too seriously, and just see it as "testing"

Btw. BE has been pretty successful at catching hackers lately

Dude that sucks to hear, looking forward to the standalone which will helpfully iron some of these issues out. It's just a shame people like this hacker have to ruin it for everyone. Oh well he has been named and shamed.

Hi , do you all think " DayZ the Game " will change anything about hackers? nope they still will hack and destroy all fun. Sad but true we can't stop them , maybe just make less of them but they still will be in game if we like or not . not i'm trying to defend them just stating a facts.

unless you have power on server commands please don't expect a helicopter to last long.

in our server we managed to save our helicopter from 5 hacking attempts simply by restarting the server when mid air, even if we saw it blow up we would then see it completely unharmed at the place it landed after we restarted the server. Having a helicopter on a public server is something to cherish, but not to expect to last long.

People are still reporting Scripties on the forums? Why don't you play on community owned private Hives were hackers get dealt with like yesterday's garbage? I personally recommend Planet-DayZ.

Honestly, Private Hives have the same amount of hackers. And reporting hackers to the DayZ dev team is also useless. The only thing left is to wait for BE to bust them
