DangerosoDavo 0 Posted June 15, 2012 Steam overlay works fine for me without any changes. Add non-steam game-> set target/startin?Profit.
Wüstenfuchs (DayZ) 105 Posted June 15, 2012 Hi, this is posted in the wrong area. Before you create a new thread, it is good to always read the sticky threads first (Please read this before creating a new thread). Thread moved to troubleshooting.

dragoonseal 0 Posted June 15, 2012 I've been curious about that too.It sounds like it isn't good enough to just replace main exe with the beta version despite the launch options pointing to the beta folder files. From his post I gather that you would also need to backup and replace the dll folder and the Expansion\dta folder with the ones in the beta folder. This would probably eliminate the need for the -beta= launch options as well. However, I'm not positive, so I've sent him a private message to confirm if that is viable. He doesn't visit the Steam forum too often though, so might take a few days to get a reply.
mansen 1 Posted June 15, 2012 Running the dayZ beta with Steam overlays is easy enough. You just have to add the OA Beta exe as a nonsteam game and change the shortcut details to make it load up the DayZ mod files and have the "startin" folder be the OA main folder, not the beta (as far as I recall)
DangerosoDavo 0 Posted June 15, 2012 For use with steam and beta patch use this.Target: "(REPLACE WITH STEAM DIR)\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\ARMA2OA.exe" "-mod=(REPLACE WITH STEAM DIR)\steamapps\common\arma 2;EXPANSION;ca" "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" -mod=@DayZ -nosplashStart in: "(REPLACE WITH STEAM DIR)\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\""
