My character is the wrong gender

Date/Time: (not sure - date when gender selection was first implemented)

What happened: I clicked "female" to make my character a female, knowing it is only a 1 time change. Then, the server got stuck in an infinite loading/receiving data and I had to alt+F4 to close the game. Upon rejoining another server, it appeared that my choice did not save and I am a male character.

Can an admin/dev please address this? Is it possible to change my character? I know its only a 1 time change but I knew that and intended to make my character a female in the first place. Im upset that because of the bug I'm permanently set to a character I do not prefer.
