Questions about editing the map

So I have got some questions about editing the map, more specific editing Chernarus.

So ive seen that some private hives have got safezones, tradeposts etc.

My questions is how can you successfully do this and add it to your dayz server?

Is it as simple as putting it in the editor and finish it as you want it to be and that's it? My concerns are that this will fuck up the mission etc.
