Limbo type glitch and died - please help

hello all

i was playing dayz today, finally started getting the hang of it all, got a gun and some food/drink, was running threw a forest when my screen went all starnge for a second and i was placed into what looked like a limbo plane were all i could see was a flat green field and about 5 other players standing around doing nothing so i waited around a minute got sick off it and shot one in the head (thought if i killed them i would glitch out or something lol) anyways one started shooting me and i died and he ran up and looted me then yea game said i was dead and i left the server and had to start over again :(

was this a hack? glitch? what happend? i lost all my stuff from it and from what i gather i wont get my stuff back?
