As i suppose you are aware of, your graphics does alot to your FPS. How high do you run your graphic settings?

Definitely put your Video Memory to default and change the HDR quality to normal

Another very important setting, if not the most important one, is the view distance. Put it to somewhere around 3k-4k especially when you're playing Arma.

Vsync should be disabled as well.

Other than that, 30fps are perfectly fine and would not be an fps issue. You don't need stable 60 as in e.g. a fast paced shooter ;)

If you can do something in the HW department, get your hands on a quick SSD.

Your setup anally rapes mine (and comes back for seconds) and I have everything (except AA and Post Processing) on VERY HIGH (or the maximum equivalent where v.h. does not exist), so you should easily be able to run everything maxed out.

HOLY ****! Now wonder your getting low fps, turn that view distance down man.. like the other guy said, 3-4k is enough.. You cant hit anything above 2k anyway

This video helped me out a ton!

I use to still get lag on the lowest of lowest settings before I found this video. Now I'm able to run with about 30 fps on normal graphic settings. Granted they do drop to 15 - 20ish when I go into Elektro or another major city.

Setting the memory to default (Ive read time and time again works better than setting to high/very high)..maxes allowed memory usage to around 500mb (on my system). On very high, it uses between 600~900..but I rarely see/'feel' a difference other less 'slow-downs' (but these are more from high-ping players joining/getting ping-kicked than graphic 'lag')

SxS. Those are "My Settings", not Mr.Buggles settings (the one asking for help) I have no 'low fps' (and to me anything over what the human can perceive..24 fps..is all good)

I have noticed that it depends on the server. I have been able to play on servers with 3D resolution on 100% or sometimes more, graphical settings all as high as they can go, and I can record with 30fps. Other servers I have 100% res., same settings and run 25fps without fraps. I think that view distance and 3D resolution STRONGLY affect for FPS, so I would recommend turning them down. 30fps is easily playable, but I prefer as high as I can because it just makes the game feel so much smoother. Good luck. :)
