Geoffrey (DayZ) 3 Posted October 14, 2012 Hey!!This is my first suggestion, and I didn't rifle through the rest of the suggestions, I don't even know if this has already been looked at and then confirmed, not really following rockets interviews much, I want the game to be a surprise for me, so I can find out all the new things on my own!!A suggestion I would like to make is getting rid of the sight and sound icons on the HUD. This would be a bit more a fair way to make zombies have a bit more of an edge. I see a lot of threads about people complaining about zombies loosing their "scaryness" and what not. If you didn't know ranges, you'd have a lot more people being more cautious going through built up areas/places zombies spawn. This, in conjunction with maybe changing the sight and sound ranges of zombies in stand alone, would make for more of a "zombie apocolypse" type situation. My other suggestion would be to differ the ranges for each individual zombie, this may be a bit of a stretch for the programming side but it would be something to think about, maybe have 3 or 4 different types of zombie visual and hearing range? Sometimes I run right past a zombie without them hearing or seeing me, so this might already be in the game, I don't know!Just my input, I'm not really gonna look at feed back, I just hope this helps rocket in designing the game, maybe another thing to think about. After he gotten rid of all the bigger bugs and things like that! P.S Kudos to Rocket, I love this game! :D

indominator 95 Posted October 14, 2012 you should know that the theres lots of people who have proble with hearing and seeing colours, so eliminating the hud is the worst idea i have ever read. Not only some people have very bad graphic and/or sound card, but some dont even have mics or even a way to use sound. Rocket is going to implement a life and decay system to the zombies. Use search, its your friend. And try to follow what rocket says, he has said almost everything and he doesnt support zombie arcadie classes
snowy 7 90 0 Posted October 14, 2012 An actual number inside the blood icon would be useful to see if its going up or down. It would be nice to know exactly how much meat increases your blood without having to search the web for it. :)

(sorry for caps, just emphasizing) I'm just saying, my suggestion is to get rid of the HEARING and VISUAL parts of the HUD, so there is sort of a fair player advantage in servers. :) we can keep the temperature, food blood and drink side of the HUD, just the rest we could get rid of, it would make the player more "involved" not sure if that's the right word...I'm still drunk hehe
Lights Out 141 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) An actual number inside the blood icon would be useful to see if its going up or down. It would be nice to know exactly how much meat increases your blood without having to search the web for it. :)Don't get me started on magical meat and food haha I hope he does away with meat magically giving you blood. Your blood should regenerate at a slow constant rate all the time. Staying nourished, hydrated, and healthy should only slightly increase this blood regeneration. Opposite goes for not meeting those needs.I'm NOT talking about getting rid of the HUD COMPLETELY. Certain things that can be left up to perception shouldn't be up there. Sound you're making visibility, etc. etc. Honestly some of it can definitely be cleared up and others may be able to be cleared up by giving certain visual/audible cues but they would have to be tested to see if it works. (Stomach growling, dizzyness, blurred vision. Stuff like that)Honestly it will be an alpha when released (which many tend to forget) and I'd love to test as much ideas out as possible to see what works before the game is finished. What's the worst that happens, we find out something doesn't fit and it gets taken out. As long as the correct priorities are addressed in order of importance, I wouldn't mind testing out a whole bunch of features. It will only make the game better in the end. mdmonnik@deakin.edu.au 139 Posted October 15, 2012 Personally if I could suggest something it would be to improve the first person view. Currently when you run you cant even see your gun. If they could have the gun visable at all times and able to MOVE WHILE SHOOTING that would be sick, and would discourage the continued use of 3rd person (which is quite an advantage). However I like 3rd person when running long distances becuase I looks better :D

Besides, you can get a cheap sound card for like $20. And I believe that rocket said they taking out the debug monitor and are planning on taking out the majority of the HUD. You will be alerted of your needs by sound (i.e hunger = growling stomach, and thirsty = raspy breath). I think that the removal of the HUD and the removal of the debug monitor will greatly improve the game by adding a sense of realism.
