    Namalsk vehicles: Where and what?

    I've seen an old fishing boat @ 045/026 and another boat (I don't remember which kind) @ 044/014 at the docks. They both looked like fresh spawns and all of the other vehicles I've seen around were occupied.
  2. Is there another forum where we can see what the developers are doing, having problems with etc? I heard talk of trouble with vehicles.. There should be a stream on the developers.. on twitch. If a viewer sees an error, it can save at least 5 minutes per error. Can I somehow sort this thread for only rocket's/admin's/important people's posts? I really hate to go through 356 posts to find out stuff.. :(
  3. I think you're misunderstanding or not reading all the way through. 1. I don't want locations. I just want to know what should be there, so by default, I know what should NOT be there. When this map (Fallujah) started there were multiple vehicles that "naturally" spawned on my server that are not in the normal DayZ. Including three CH-47 Chinook helicopters, three UH-1Y Venom-Super Huey helicopters, three Mi-8 Russian helicopters, two MH-6 Little Bird helicopters, a Russian fuel truck, and a brand new black Chevrolet Suburban SUV. All of those would have had to have been hacked into "regular" DayZ. 2. If admins want to send people out on a private hive and collect all vehicles and aircraft before anyone else can play there they will do it regadless of whether they have a list of vehicles and/or their spawn points. Having (or not having) a list of legitimate vehicles doesn't help (or hinder) admins that wish to take this aspect of the game away from their players. It does, however, help good admins who are trying to be proactive and watch for illegitimate vehicles. 3. As far as the loot and hive going down ... I pay for my servers (multiple servers) all I'm saying is that some warning would be nice. As an admin I have to deal with my players when something like this happens. It's pretty shitty to have to tell them, "sorry, I don't know what happened," only to find out the hive was crashed and wiped on purpose. Give us admins advance notice of something like this. It's happened twice (that I know of) in the last couple of weeks. On the 18th and 24th (might have the dates a day off and I'm not going back to double check) of this month (October.) Logging in to everything gone is bad enough, having to deal with regular players and not having an answer is worse. 4. As far as Lee and advancing the maps. Sure I love it. Fallujah is my favorite so far ... kudos to him. I just feel like there's a huge rush to get more maps out there without getting the bugs worked out of the ones that are already active. And again, to much lack of information. If you're going to change stuff let us know somethings about to happen.

    Do you play alone occasionally?

    That's why the alternate maps come into play, like Namalsk, Panthera, Lingor, they're new and exciting compared to the original environment of Chernarus. But I guess you could say I'm a bit of an explorer on DayZ in general. I try to meet a lot of people in-game and help them through their journies. I get to travel to multiple towns in vehicles a lot, search for the benefiting crashed heli's and clan tents, set up camp sites with people, view scenery and get to know the survivors I'm with, and just have fun. That's what video games are about right? I'm not playing this game to just get aggravated at every glitch death or each time I'm murdered, I play it to enjoy its atmosphere it gives off and survive with some really cool people. Playing this game alone isn't anywhere as entertaining as it would be with others around. And believe me, being a bandit isn't going to get you any favorable reputations, so don't expect random survivors in game to trust you with a shemagh around your head.

    Even a friendly one is unacceptable.

    So did you ever submit the hacker(s) to the Developers or whoever controls the moderation of player profiles? I despise hackers like these. ._. Lousy scripters. Spawning in weapons/vehicles/items not introduced to the mod makes things so unfair, especially once they start using them against other survivors, then that just gets me mad. I rage once the minor scripting leads to 'thunderdoming', 'finding players by waypoints', 'total map wipe-out', and worse things, and it usually does with worthless cheaters like these. I prefer them gone indefinitely, permanently, immediately.

  11. The only way to prevent the whole 'killing for fun' thing is by providing incentives to team up. Besides, most of the killing that happens now-a-days is simply because of boredom, as there is simply nothing else to do once you know the map better than the back of your hand and have all the gear one could possibly be needing. Things that could be done and that have already been suggested: need more people to repair vehicles, a more indepth health system that incluedes things that cannot be overcome alone, simply more content overall... People simply need to be worth more alive than dead to you. For example they could add places someone cannot enter alone, maybe you need someone to uve you 'a boost up' to that ledge or stuff like that.

    Hi, just want to say I really love your servers, they generally log in quite fast and i like how more vehicles spawn. I have heard that you had a mass ban of hackers a few days ago which i think is great as they ruin the game but for some reason I was banned as well. My name in game is Anton and I was just hoping you could undo it as I usse your servers most with my friends. I have no idea why I was banned unless it was because i typed in "flush" after i pressed "shift" "minus" to get rid of graphical glitches. I think I was banned on either 27th or 28th of October and the ban message is BattlEye: Admin Ban (cheating/hacking) It would be greatly appreciated if you could do un-ban me Anton
  13. I agree, it should be removed, server owners should not have a choice in this say. These 'dots' can be used to scan out vehicles and what direction they may be hidden in a thick forest. You may not know it yet but people do use this method to find camps and such. I honestly don't believe this belongs in DayZ.

    New Hacker Griefing Technique

    It's not just a debug monitor. I experienced the same thing on UK 25 (my own favourite server) on two consecutive days. The first day it was called Teqwahh's Monitor and the second day it was called Monky Monitor. It claimed to provide anti-hacking capabilities and would kick people from time to time. Sounds good right? Well it also prevented you from saving vehicles or tents, which is a bummer. It also made the server lag heavily meaning if you logged off within a reasonable amount of time of picking up an item (5mins) it didn't register in the hive and the item was gone when you logged back in. You also couldn't refill jerry cans at all, but that wasn't a problem because with all the server lag you could dupe as many items into existence just by moving them back and forth from your inventory and backpack. After a few hours of play the server is so crippled from the hack that frame rates drop to under 10fps for everyone. No problem because you play on a server with regular restarts right? Wrong. The hack also disabled the restart and required admin intervention. It's not much fun.

    Depends how close you are to me. I give Services, items like weapons, food, Medical assistance and etc. no vehicles. Weapons would be nice in return or a working vehicle in a server or i might do for free.

[Changed] All packs now have dedicated spawn locations.For instance patrol packs will be common in residential areas, where as higher capacity packs like the Alice will be more rare and spawn only in military. [Changed] Animal Meat yields. Goat: 2, Boar: 3, Sheep: 3, Cow: 4. Seeing as meat doesn't spoil this should add to scarcity. [Added] Brand new building class "Old Camp". Here you will find loot that would typically be found inside another persons camp. Small arms, low end AR's, ammo,food, survival gear. [Added] Chloroform (rare) to be used in pvp. This will allow for kidnapped/ransome scenarios to play out as it knocks out a victim for 3.5mins. [Added] "Flip Vehicle" action to allow players to do just that when they overturn their transportation. [Added] "Combat Logger" to eliminate combat logging. Once a person engages/is engaged in combat a 30second timer appears and disables "log out". Should also insta-kill anyone who tries to log by alt-f4 or kill process before the timer runs out (still to be tested). [Removed] All OP weapons, including L85, AS50, Fal NVG, M107, SVD, DMR and All SD weapons excluding M9 and MP5 SD.

    My Story

    It was a bright Sunny day, my group had been separated the night before. I was in Elektro and Another guy (Mitch) was in Cherno. We found a Gaz and a cop car the night before as well, so when i left that night i told mmmy group to set up a camp by willow lake. So now they are trying to pick me and Mitch up and drive us back to the camp. The plan was to meet in kamyshovo (probably spelled that wrong.) for the pickup. when my group and i had gotten there, we saw 2 uaz's cruising down the street. we started shooting the car's tires. we must have shot a tire out of one of them. they both stop and open fire, i immediately ran for the forests to flank them with my m107.One of my group members (Zoneth) took some hits and died. Gamma (the other guy in our group) took out two of them out before i could lay out any shots. he was looting the body's when a guy snuck up from a bush and killed him with a shotgun. it all happened so fast, i layed down and open shots, 3 more guys appears from one of the vehicles. i spammed shots at them Screaming "DIE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!" All 4 of them dropped dead on the street, murdered. i got the undamaged uaz and got the hell out of there. in the truck was a AS50 with 5 NATO mags for it. May their souls rest in peace.

  22. Hey there DayZ Players and welcome to my own personal "Under Construction/Development" thread all about a new map I am currently crafting for the community. Here I will wait for your suggestions, answer your questions and post news about the upcoming map. I will announce everything new with a new post and edit some side notes into this start-post here. No need worrying peeps, whether this thread is in the right forum or not. My oppinion is that it belongs here because it is a suggestion for the mod to make it more cunning as it already is. For now some more impressions on what I want to implement. You may have played some Namalsk lately. That Map is beast because of it's cold feature and the cunning ambience sounds. I want to implement something similar to that in my own map outer heaven. I want an Area that is, in fact, nothing other than anything else but I want this Area to make you sick on purpose. This area will contain the military grade weapons you want to find, will consist of old ruins, dark forests and a group of monoliths for the lore. On top of that the ambience sound shall make your bones rattle and give you chills. In this area you either need to stop and rest a t fires or kick out heatpacks. Hence the connection to either Namalsk or the game "Cryostasis", this area will give you a lot of threads: Cold, Zed's, other players and thanks to some ambience sound I allready gathered some nice chills while you expect attacks at all time ;) I am currently connecting the parts of my islands to one Island and hope I will be able to code both roads and terrain rather quickly because I have the needed values allready from where I took the parts for my map, I will just need to adjust that to my own Ground-Zero of the map so they are in place where they belong. Wish me luck and soon I'll be able to show you some actual screens of outer heaven :) Alternatively I will hand out some concept arts I worked out if the screens happen to delay! Info: The textures and sounds will be similar to THQ's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl Tell me what you think of this idea so far and maybe even make suggestions for sounds and textures. [GENErAL INFORMATION] A new theme for the map - releasing after standalone? Well, here it is the next wall of text about mind on the map before I will release first technical data about it. In the last post i told you guys I will have a minor change of plans for outer heaven! The update is simple. I initially wanted Outer Heaven to be a PvP map but PvP is natural and does not need another Utes-like map. Instead of this I will give Outer Heaven a stronger atmosphere and a darker theme. Alongside castle-like buildings and a mansion complex I will implement a theme of survival for this map, and this is going to be what this theme contains: A dark, cloudfull sky that is allways dark by changing the skybox if possible, darker colours for all textures, giving it an european game look by removing colors and darkening the scene. I will make those buildings that spawn food and supplies rarer and those who spawn bigger guns even rarer than that. Outer Heaven will become a map for survival fans. It will give DayZ a "hard but fair" touch and it won't be as easy to survive on outer heaven since you will need to go some longer ways to get food. Other than that hunting will be way more important and you need to keep an eye out for animals and gut them as a big source of food income. There will only be one lake where you an refill your water bottle meaning this lake will be a hotspot for PvP and survivalists. Why will I release even after standalone if neccessary? Just cause... thats why. I think the Mod-Community won't die so soon and I want to contribute to this community because I will stay on the mod for sure, even while playing standalone. Sadly rocket might never read this thread because I want to try and give DayZ what it missed a long time now: Survival. Zombies will become mean monsters once again because supplies are rare and you will not be able to eat your way up to 12k again so easy unless you go hunting much. This map will be meant to be for the more hardcore gamers amongst you. If I get this map on servers I will reduce spawns of supplies and increase zombie spawns, make them attack harder and give them their danger back! As allways, this is just telling you my mind, stay tuned for first details on terrain and size of the actual map, and how I think I will build it faster than normal. Allways remember: This is going to be one of the maps that are not ported from ArmA developers or former community geniuses before you guys even thought of DayZ. This will be a DayZ themed map that is specifically made for the mod as it is. Greetings, Pax [OUTDATED] For the start I will tell you my general Idea for the map and want your oppinion on it so I see in which way that Idea could be improved. The idea itself was born when I first played Lingor because I was sick and tired of Chernarus after a lot of playtime. l actually saw everything ingame, had my standard run-in's with Bandits, some good fights and raids but somehow DayZ grew a bit tiresome for me, not because of the mod itself but of places to see. The newest maps are some nice opportunities to see some new stuff and I enjoyed every single one of them, but soon after that again everything was seen and got a bit boring. What I wanted was some endgame content, something to strife on after you reached nearly anything ingame, saw all places and still wanted to roam the land for a purpose. That was the time I started thinking about a way to give DayZ a thing that would work like a system that gives you the chane for better loot by fighting for it. There were some ideas about arena fights but planning them would have taken too much time to be funny in the end. Another thing are griefers and hackers that make looting even harder. But what if there was something that did not spawn the big boy guns on helo's but in one place where people actually could fight against each other to take the price? That's when I realized that I should consider making a map that gives DayZ veterans an opportunity to have some gunslinging for a purpose again. I came up with the idea of a map that would be structured in two ways, one to get your standard gear and survive against the apocalypse and the other would make things hard for players. I have the idea to build one area on the map that is ideal for pvp, where people could go that actually want to fight and would rather die in an all-out-assault than while grabbing a can of beans. This area would house the more valuable spawns all in one, that could be contested and held by clan-server owners and people would be able to try and sneak into this area to grab stuff or bring friends and fight the clan or group that currently occupies it. Besides that there will be standard DayZ elements like bigger and smaller towns, farms inland and a standard airfield for the more PvE-ish players. As for the PvP area: There will be ways to defend it and there will be ways to infiltrate it, both on easy and hard ways, whether you like most. This are will be all about fighting and tactical gameplay, the reward will be vehicles (I will make sure that they won't be hideable elswhere, that makes sure vehicles finally become something you need to protect and retrieve back if stolen.) and better weaponry than you can find inland (See it as PvP gear). Yet again this designated area might reduce campers since they get their spot and you know that you need to tuck your head in in this area to avoid camper fire (here I will also implement element's that prevent campers from killing everybody by simply adding obstacles that need skill to kill a cover-seeking attacker from the camping-spots). Campers are not something to change, on this map as I imagine it I WANT CAMPERS to hunt people through their scopes and therefore this map is for those who understand how to play DayZ in the "correct way" Rocket once described as "Play as if there is a crosshair on your head at all times". With this map I want to bring DayZ back to the days where skill weighted more than an as50. This contested map was born in my mind under the name of OUTER HEAVEN since it is housed on an island and the Metal Gear Fans amongst you will know which kind of PvP area I thought of. With this information at hand, because I don't want to give away the surprise just yet, I leave you with the thoughts and hope you will pot your very own oppinion on what you read.
