That looks nice. I also see a bunch of other neat stuff on their (old) change list: Can no longer abuse blood bags to spam infinite humanity (not sure how they do it, maybe just a fix for an old bug, but sure would be nice to stop bandits from masquerading as heroes/survivors. Maybe only gain humanity from giving the same person blood once / X amount of time - a day or so?) Chloroform. In an experiment to see how heroes and bandits alike use it, Chloroform now rarely spawn in hospitals. You use it just like a blood bag, and it will knock the person unconscious for 3.5 minutes. You can drag them around, load them into a vehicle, or whatever else sounds fun! Tents can no longer be placed in or near buildings. They must also be placed on grass or forest (not, for example, concrete) 1st person is now enforced while inside of any vehicle (both for the survival experience improvement and to make locating tents/camps from vehicles more difficult) If you have a "Box of Matches", you can set tents on fire. This destroys their contents and deletes them from the database so they don't return on restart. You can no longer force feed yourself. You must be at least 1/4 of the way to blinking food/drink before you can consume food/drink. You no longer spawn with a backpack of any kind. Loot spawns even if you're in a vehicle, negating the "park'n'walk" requirement for getting loot. The "Map" no longer spawns by its lonesome, but with other general loot around it just like all of the other tools. Ghillie/Cammo removed from residential loot (only spawns in military/barracks/heli crashes now) Introduced new persistent storage container called "Storage Box". Created using nails, a toolbox, and wood pile. Holds 4 weapon/tools and 20 items. Can be placed ANYWHERE (unlike tents) All sniper rifles removed EXCEPT for the CZ550 and the M24. The CZ550 now only spawns in Deer Stands and the M24 only with helicopter crashes. Both are very rare. Ammo for these rifles does NOT spawn organically in the game and you only get what you find with the gun itself. All silenced weapons removed EXCEPT for the M9 SD and MP5 SD. Both spawn only at helicopter crashes. Both are very rare. Ammo for these weapons does NOT spawn organically in the game and you only get what you find with the gun itself. One LMG removed (M240), the rest (Mk48 Mod 0 and M249) now only spawn at helicopter crashes. Ammo for these guns does NOT spawn organically in the game and you only get what you find with the gun itself. Lee Enfield and Winchester removed from residential loot. Farm Only. Zombie density should be slightly higher and therefore cause zombies to become that much more of a nuisance more quickly.

Hello all. I don't really use the forum to post too often, but I have played since it was released pretty much. I'm Kang. I speak English. Small-med groups preferred. I am looking to join a hardcore group that plays on Chernarus, who typically plays the role of a bandit. I want strong, and effective pvp. I am competitive. I will run across the map, and blood bag you man! I am 25 and I want a mature clan who is down to business when playing. I have all voip programs. Communication and being organized is important in defeating the enemy effectively. I can shrug off a death and get re established . I will bring a lot to the table in terms of base/gear and vehicle establishment. I am familiar with basically everything in the game, and have experience with all weapons and vehicles, recon, and Chernarus itself. Feel free to shoot me a message, or arrange a voip discussion. I play on eastern time, though I play whenever really, day or night. :thumbsup:

This is a warning to new players do not go to the AAA Dayz server to play it sayss they are newbie friendly but all admins aid the bandits and use vehicles to make traps and snipers just shoot the crap out the underarmed new players they use the m107 50cal and AS50 so just a word of warning. Mikey

So i'm playing with my Uncle alot and we just jump from server to server. trying to find a good and fun one but it never happens. Today we joined a pretty good server it had like 350-400 vehicles and 50-60 helis. but the problem is there was no Night time we started fully loaded and we meet a hacker as soon we started our game. I've been searching on DayZ commander but really haven't found any. So can you guys maybe find or have a server that got what me and my uncle wants ??. the reqs are following. A pretty good amount of vehicles and helis'n' planes. Vehicles (350-400) planes 5-10-15 - helis 40-60 Night and day cycle.. Chanerus map wether it's modded or not. just no Rmod. ALOT OF PLAYERS :D. It's boring never seeing a soul on dayz so i'd say about 35-70 players -100 would be really good tho :D. we love action. No custom loadout. we wan't a flashlight nothing else. maybe a compas and a watch is ok. but nothing more. -------- I think that is pretty much it. i hope you guys can provide some good servers :) =Sincerely= Tereith

Ok, so I'm playing Lone Wolf. I enjoy it so, I guess, I am playing the game right( to answer my own topic's title). I had survived for 62 days, collected every item except range finders. Sand bags, Ural, LittleBird. I never really claimed ownership on the vehicles. I'd lose them and find something new all the time. Damed range finders are my White Whale. Anyway, I drove my tractor full of helicopter parts through Stary at night and just lightly clipped a fence and blew up. Yea.. I was cussing a little. I fell out and was eaten. 62 days turns into zero. Run back thinking how weird my guy looks without camo, a big coyote pack and M4-SD. So I find my corpse gather my gear head off to my camp just to regroup a bit and on the way get teleported up in the air and fall to my death. Ok, a hacker got in and was screwing things up. I try to disconnect but end up dying and lose all my gear. Yea, kinda pissed off. But what are ya gona do? (Hurry up Standalone!!!) So i decide to play Not So Lone Wolf this time. Gathered up some gear in Cherno. Rations, toolbox, axe, binocs, revolver and an AK and stuck around the city to see who I would meet. I got bored listening to enfields go off followed by cries of zombies and then the crack of broken legs so I headed off to Balota to go through the military loot and see if I could replace my crappy Chinese rifle with something NATO. About half way there I saw someone tailing me. I cut back around some cedar trees and yell at him as he passes. Go through the "don't turn around or I'll kill you" thing. He seems to follow my orders so I just cool out and tell to follow me and we'll team up a bit. I tell him to hold still and add some food and drink to his pack. Here is some foreshadowing for you... I notice a scoped rifle and ammo in his pack and ignore it. We run through the Balota airfield and collect a couple things and my newly found friend empties a clip on me and has to go point blank to actually kill me. God it's so sad how bad people are at this game. What I bring away from my "find a friend" adventure is a question. How do I find a partner? Do I want a partner? I really don't think it's fun to try and turn this game into a Call of Duty. If it want to shoot other players there are way more developed games that are designed perfectly for FPS. In the two months playing my last character I've watch over a dozen players creep past me oblivious to the fact I had my front sight post on his head the whole time. I've never been more scared in a game than having a player train a bunch of zombies into a residential house I was already in, turn and start firing his AK at the dozens of zombies following him all the while hollering into direct chat, in broken English,"I'm friendly!".... This encounter turned out ok. We both went our separate ways after meding him up a bit. This was one of the few player encounters I really enjoyed. He couldn't speak English and my French was useless. He followed me a while but I lost him and really didn't see the use in keeping him around. ........ My message seems to be rambling a bit so I'll leave it for now. Perhaps I can add more later. I guess I'll close by saying how much I enjoy DayZ. All the new maps and tweaks are fantastic. There is a fellow who is scripting something neat named piXel. Go search for his server. He is almost ready to release his additions to the public. Dogs that will stay, follow, search for the nearest animal. Tow hook for Helios... All kinds a stuff. That's all I have tonight. Maybe I'll add some later. Semper Fidelis, Capt Gentry

I've never quite liked those overpowered bloodbags. It's usually life-threatening to lose half your blood, let's just go for simple approximations, 6L blood on you, 3L left and you're at 0 blood in terms of the game. So 3L equals 12.000 blood points, 1L 4.000 points. A single blood bag contains around 0.5-0.7L of donor blood. That would equal 2.000-3.000 points, not 12.000 points! On top of that, blood bags are sterile and non-pyrogenetic, meaning you don't get infected and you don't get a fever from using them! You get serious infections if hemolysis has started to degrade the blood bag's quality (something that should happen when people store them in vehicles or tents for several days, and should color the blood bag visibly distinct) or streptococcus or similar bacteria have contaminated the sample (which should also be visible on the blood bag, maybe with an inspect action?). On the other hand, severe blood loss and trauma would often be treated with blood plasma (yellow liquid in the bag) instead. I'd like to see the following changes: You don't find full blood bags, you find: - Empty blood containers (they could be 10 an item slot, like flares and such, or 1 per item slot) - Surgical set (basically a medical toolbox), containing a field guide on blood transfusions and such (fluff for why the characters can use them), those small bandages you put on when you pull the IV needle out, sterile needles and the tubes required to set an IV. You use different needles so there's no infection risk there, but you'd have to wash the tubes in boiled water to clean them - but they still wouldn't be sterile. Here we finally have reasonable grounds to add the random infection chance. You can donate blood plasma into an empty bag only once a day (time compression, only once in two weeks would be ridiculous) and only within a hospital, since you need the machines to extract the plasma. For the sake of still having a game, let's just assume the backup generators in hospitals still have enough juice for that since noone really uses them, let SA introduce power generators and such. You can donate raw blood multiple times a day but it drops your food and thirst bars down to 10% when you donate. You can give yourself your own donated blood/plasma at any point of time as long as you have that IV set with you with a very low infection risk, it's your own blood, just make sure it's fresh. You can't donate blood if your blood is below 6.000, you need the remaining blood. Blood bags give 4.000 points of blood back, blood plasma 8.000 points of blood. One of each would fill you up, but with the restrictions on blood donating it wouldn't succumb to making blood refreshment no longer a worry. Blood bags go bad after 3 days, blood plasma goes bad after a day. If you have a friend with you, he can donate the blood directly without the use of a bloodbag, but the same limits on donation still apply. When donating person to person, the infection chance is slightly higher, but it skyrockets if you havent cleaned those IV tubes after the last use. This would make blood donation less unrealistic and less of an item game, requiring either empty containers + a tool on your belt or a friend + a tool on your belt. Of course, you wouldn't be able to donate blood and give it to yourself right away when you need it, you need to think ahead. Also, technically the donor should lose the blood points he donates, but that would be a pain in the ass so I went for requiring food/drinks afterwards instead. In most situations, people would try and get to a hospital before they drop under 6.000, look for an IV kit and some empty blood bags and package some blood and plasma for later use right away. But then they need food and drinks twice each since you donated twice. The blood plasma bags would become an item of real value. I'd also like to see blood types, but I guess that's a little bit extreme. Not everyone in the world is B+ as the texture of the blood bags makes you believe :D

Haven't really been able to get on the server or TS lately as I have been sorting out some problem with my public server and even have 2 private servers now but there server is really good, not sure about 400+ vehicles though, don't think I have ever seen 1 (playing the server while typing this and I actually just ran past a car that needs to be fixed near cherno docks) I like the server and players on it so I would totally suggest there clan and server :) Oh and every time I'm on TS it seems no one else is on, might be that I'm UK time though -

how bout choppers leaking out all their fuel cause a window is smashed? also i dunno if its a bug but surely it's un-intended, some vehicles need a lot of parts like way too many. for example I found blue skoda van and according to the scroll wheel list there's EIGHT tyres that need to be fixed... i'm sure ive seen it with other vehicles too, it's just weird. I agree with OP but gotta admit that roll is useful don't have to get hit crossing fences anymore -

Audio/Music adjustments; creating an ear-joyable atmosphere.(Standalone)

Hi guys, TIC here once again to bring you guys another great idea. I want to keep this short and to the point this time instead of long paragraphs ;) Do you happen to think the ambiance is a bit redundant? Currently it's cycled through a loop which at first, can give off a great impression but after awhile could ruin the vibe of it's repetitiveness loop. Could we see further improvements on this? Sure! I think this is what I should bring upon your attention.. Sounds that are meshed with the environments and situations that surrounds your character to create the perfect audio atmosphere.Audio cues, such as there being an item nearby, there could be a very quiet pitch tone or when a zombie pops around the corner on your screen, An example will be this; Visiting countrysides, villages, towns, bases or even freshly spawning at the shore of a beach will have their own bland of music mixed as a collaboration that could feature a 'cross-fade' to avoid silent gaps in-between ambient melody.Depending on the intensity of situations, songs will become more aggressive and upbeat(for car chases, pursuits) an example will be this: Example song(Intensity) .. For encountering a bandit or a very large group of zombies; *These examples are my inspirations, feel free to elaborate on other musical cues without any vocals/acapella. For those who disagree; here's something you could consider reading before submitting; Sound/Music can totally be adjusted through options, it won't entirely take control upon your own will. This audio feature's purpose is to give the survivor a feeling of whatever your player feels surrounding them to make you feel the same way to give more of an understanding of what can truly compel your character to make the Standalone as authentic as a zombie-apocalypse situation as possible. [Guide] Setting up an Xbox 360 Controller for DayZ

Thanks for the guide :beans: Ive been using this xpadder config with a wired 360 controller for about a month now and I really like it. Scroll wheel actions (climb ladders, pick up gear etc) are done via the B button on the controller and a combo of thumbsticks and back button can be used to navigate gear. Haven't had any problems in firefights but driving vehicles is a bit tricky. I will admit it takes a little getting used to and may not be technically superior to a KBM, but I play dayz in my lounge room on a sofa 10ft away from my TV so a controller is more convenient and a lot more comfortable. -

Oops, forgot to post an update! Server is back up and running. In other news, the first iterations of the SCAR series have successfully spawned in game, as have the first guided launchers of varied type. Vodnik operators beware! Stage one testing is underway on all the new vehicles(by far the largest number of vehicles we've ever had in testing), and some stand-outs are the BTR-60, HMMWV with TOW, HMMWV CROWS with Mk.19, M270 MLRS, and MAYBE the AAV7. There may be a place for some of the heavier assets as well. Testing will reveal if the addition of more satchel spawns and guided munitions will be sufficient to reasonably defeat these heavier assets, but they haven't been removed from consideration yet: FV510, LAV-25, M2A1 Bradley(nonfunctioning TOWs), M2A2 Bradley(nonfunctioning TOWs), Stryker MGS and the BMP-3(main and secondary gun are nonfunctioning, only barrel-launched missiles work). The extreme end of the vehicles we've been able to add have almost - but not quite - been dismissed out of hand. These are so heavily armored and so unbalanced that we would have to make attack helicopters a regular spawn to see them reliably defeated. With that being said, we will still do the testing stages to make absolutely certain they won't work, and keep you folks informed. Examples of this class include the M1A1, M1A2 TUSK, and T-90. It's with a heavy heart that I say that I don't think there will be a place for any of the air assets successfully brought in. All of these include radar, and the memory of what armed air assets with radar can do to player bases remains fresh in our memory. Examples of this class include the Mi-8 TV3, Mi-171SH, AH-11 Wildcat, UH-1Y Venom, AH-1Z Viper, Ka-52, SU-34, SU-39, A-10, and AV8 Harrier. I will note that I have retained an AH-11 Wildcat as an admin transport - it would be incredibly helpful to have a spare heli class that is admin-only so that I may set it to be able to lift any vehicle for spawn management purposes and aircraft cleanup purposes. I know in the first post of this thread I talk about how the disdain I felt when I saw admin-only helicopters, and I want the players here to know that this aircraft is not for admin gaming operations, but rather for maintenance. It seems reasonable to me, but if this seems unfair to the playerbase, I'll certainly reverse my decision. New players looking at this thread: You may be wondering if this is an rMod server, with all the vehicles we are talking about. I want to be clear that this is NOT an rMod server, and that you do not need to install anything other than the latest Taviana.com map and DayZ to enjoy The Shack. We are currently running a chenarus server and are getting tired of the script kidies so we are looking to set up a white list. We currently average about 30-45 people during the day and usually cap 50 a few times a night between script attacks. People really seem to enjoy our server. We currently offer a ventrilo to use, 750 vehicles (will be getting toned down), lots of planes and helis, start with most tools and a g17, added lots of buildings around the map (mainly starting areas), military camps, barracks at all airfields (10+ at NW), and currently 24/7 daytime. If we get alot of people who want changes we would gladly change it to what the community wants. WE DO HAVE BANDITS so if you whine every time you get killed dont bother sending me a message. If you are interested in joining and getting whitelisted send me a message and we can hop in vent or something to get info. -

About us: Rescue Team was a small community of friends who love to challenge our real life experiences in Combat/Survival games that has grown into a budding online group of players from across the world. Cities flagged as a "Green Zone" are free of PvP activity, but not thievery. Team Bases are designated as protected zones for players who have banded together in an admin approved group. In each team’s base, players who are members can safely place tents, vehicles, and other objects free from the worry that others may steal it while they are offline or out of the base. All new players will have access to a Refugee Camp within the United Nation’s base. The Refugee Camp is a safe place for all newcomers to have tents and vehicles stored in. The Refugee Camp should only be used until you have enough gear to survive by yourself or with your group in the wild. We do not force people to play in “Green Zones” nor to place items in Team Bases or the Refugee Camp, it is up to you if you wish to use these services or not. Glad to help. I saw you try to log in. The admin is away for the weekend, i didn't realize, if you send in the email however, mention me if you like, and he should be back to whitelist you Monday I think. He went snowmobiling I believe. It is a good server, good community. extra buildings, like more barracks at all the airfields, fire station at zeleno, etc. Also has some extra weapons that spawn, and lots of vehicles. -
The zombies are much better now , it makes having gun fights that much more difficult , or less desirable . You get a few shots off , then you have about ten seconds before the mob arrives , it's great . They mob you when you try to repair stuff , which is also great . To me , the zombies are not a major concern , but it seems servers are having a lot of trouble with this patch , with desync and lag , and log in troubles . Also I have noticed wide spread trouble with the repair of vehicles , saving of tents and sometimes roll backs after restarts ( probably a server thing ).

1) Go to: https://code.google..../browse/filters 2) Download all the .txt files located through that link except for beserver.cfg_example.txt and publicvariablevar.txt ** Best to copy & paste them by clicking on each txt link, then on the right hand side it says "view raw file"** ** Copy & paste text into a text file with the same name, simply downloading them doesn't work properly** 3) FTP to your server using the details on the left side of the dayz.st control panel. I use Filezilla as my ftp program. 4) Navigate into your servers BE folder 5) Using your ftp program delete the .txt files from your servers battleye folder that correspond with the .txt files you just downloaded in step 2 ** Important: Do not delete your bans.txt file etc, only delete the .txt files that match the names of the ones you downloaded.** **It may also be worth backing them up first, I didn't, but looking back I probably should of** 6) ftp over the downloaded ones. There should be 18 in total and they should be ftp'd into your battleye folder where the text files were before 7) Go into dart or whichever rcon tool you use (I use dart), click "reload scripts" and "reload events". In dart these are in the "execute" tab. Enjoy. If you run a different map (Lingor for example) then it is worth adding more vehicle names to setpos.txt and attachto.txt Some maps have custom names for for some of the vehicles, or vehicles like the SUV which aren't standard in DayZ so are not listed in the files. Add new vehicles in the same way that the vehicles are already listed.
