  3. I keep seeing posts about instancing bases, or making it so that when you are offline no one can steal your vehicle or crap from your base. Why? Getting your crap jacked is part of the game. I also don't understand how adding the ability to dig out an underground base seems like a good idea. Experience leads me to believe it would result in a landscape filled with random, ugly holes for people to fall in. I'm just wondering why, if they are planning on adding a crafting system, it wouldn't work to be able to build a fortified base. They could add craftable barriers which are to high to hop over and would do significant damage to vehicles that hit them/can't be knocked down. Maybe would-be raiders would need a satchel charge to get through, though this could and should damage whatever is on the other side, potentially destroying valuable loot. Add lockable gates with a combination lock that the players would need to keep secret to all but their clan. I've read posts suggesting tow ropes or winches for vehicles, maybe these could be used to pull gates down. I can think of a pretty long list of structures and upgrades which could be added, granted some of them are probably less viable or advisable than others, but still. Storage buildings/boxes, booby traps, radio towers, power plants/generators, covered parking, crafting benches to allow for bigger crafting projects than what one could do in the wilderness (a dedicated "kitchen" for example, where you could cook and can food; assuming foods get a shelf life, of course.), just to name a few. To prevent peeps from just planting walls at really dickish locations, a part of base building could be that structures can only be placed within x number of meters of, I dunno, a clan flag, a work bench, a shack. Take your pick. Just have it so that the first thing you do when building a base is to set some form of primary structure that marks its limits. And before anyone asks what would prevent some douche from planting a base in the middle of Cherno, there is already a system in game for locating what region your toon is in. When you spawn in it tells you where you are. So bases would need to only be allowed in the Wilderness region(s). The only problem I can see that I can't get around is how would you stop a group of players from each dropping their own markers at max distance from each other and making a massive base. I suppose setting a minimum distance limit between markers would work, but if you pop a marker and it wont let you claim the area because another camp is nearby, half the work in camp hunting is already done for you. I definitely think camp building should be more than just popping down a few tents and maybe some razor wire if your really serious. At the same time, though, I really hate the idea of instanced bases and Care Bear rules about not stealing someone's stuff. I think adding fortified bases is the best alternative, as it combines both improved security for hard won loot, and the ability for players to build and change the landscape, making their mark on the world. That and raiding/defending one would be pretty epic. Thoughts?
  4. My partner got admin banned (hacking) because she told two guys to shutup on sidechat. One of them was telling the other one that there were no easily repairable vehicles within a five k radius of where he was so he was clearly an admin, which he confirmed later when he said to the player he was chatting with on side who was asking where the vehicles were..'if i tell you where the good ones are then i would not be doing my job as an admin would i'. They had been chatting for a while and we couldn't hear shit going on between us and i was trying to show her how to mute players , she had asked them to be quiet on side but had got no reply and then when she said ' guys, shutup ! ' (she was stressing out as she was at the Southern barracks under zed attack whilst trying to mute them) the admins reply was ' NO YOU SHUTUP FUCKHEAD!' followed a minute later by Admin Ban... hacking- and some other childish message. We had been on the server once before and i was questioned by one of the admins after an hour or so of play how i came about the items i had in my bag, mountain dew from Vybor and an m240 from the barracks..straight up i was like..well check the logs mate and make your call, pretty damn obvious. If one was scripting would you tell them on side anyway.. :facepalm: Shit servers..vote with your abort button.

    ok so i started a server with HFB. I got the package plus so i would have database access so i could make changes. Ive figured out how to change loadouts and player items and whatnot. but vehicles are not so easy. I'd like to make it so i can increase the number of vehicles on the server and if possible put them in certain locations and return to their original location after server restarts. Im using navicat lite and ive looked online at videos and read about doing this stuff but i dont have sections like Pmain and Pspawn in my database? the only things i have in my database under my user side is : deployable, instance , instance_deployable, Instance_vehicle, log_code, log_entry and so on. i know how to edit them for the most parts put shouldnt i be able to control the over all spawn on the server too? im only getting 49 vehicles to spawn max? sorry if coming off like a dumbass im just all kinds of confused. if someone would be willing to walk me through it i can join a teamspeak or i have ventrillo just send me a message on here

  14. Are you tired of joining servers and finding a vehicle right in front of you fully repaired and filled with gas? Are you tired of finding tents underwater, in rocks, or glitched for cheating purposes? Do you like to play DayZ the way it was played the first couple of months it was out? Well at TeamPlayerGaming.com that is how we enjoy playing DayZ. We have a default loadout, which means default vehicles and default loot spawns. We have recently just switched to the expanded Panthera map for a change of scenery from Chernarus, but you will find helicpoters, vehicles, crashed choppers, supply drops, boats, etc. But we didn't go over the top with these spawns. We enjoy playing the game without all those extra perks and things. We are not about instant gratification, but instead we like to work and survive for our loot. If you are wondering if we are a bunch of losers who just loot all day, you are terribly mistaken. Our group of players are very diverse in that we have some who like to loot and survive off the land with minimal player contact. If they come upon a player they will try to talk with them before engaging. Then we have the bandit players...we all know what they are like, but they are an essential part of our DayZ society. Without them there is no fear of the unknown. Our population is small at the moment, but we are growing everyday. We are looking for like-minded players who like to play DayZ "straight out of the box" and are looking for that same feeling they felt when they first started playing the game. There is nothing wrong with wanting tons of vehicles and PvP only, but at TPG we enjoy the true DayZ experience and we know there are others out there that feel the same way. We are a private hive, but we basically are a public hive with admins who care about the server and player base.   16. Can't you just remove the definition from the vehicles list? You would want to delete the instances first so it doesn't throw an error but it should keep any non hacker related thing from spawning them. Might narrow it down a bit.

    Realistic Repairs

    Vehicles should be much more common at the expense of being a pain in the arse to repair. It's just a tad bit unrealistic to have only a few cars over the large map of Chernarus. Sure, you could say that the citizens left in their cars, but most would have probably died from the zombies while at their homes.
  19. You have been surviving a long time, and salvation is finally here. You and a hand full of other poor souls heard about an evac point. Military chopper, armed escort. They take your guns and tell you to get on. It's finally over. The chopper takes off and wheels to the north, circling around cherno. How many lost souls are in that city? How many men did you kill? The chopper jumps. The pilot is moving frantically, screaming over his radio. He turns to the chopper full of civilians and says one word as the chopper goes down: "JUMP!" You are back in Cherno with men who a few days ago had tried to kill you. you have no weapons, no food. The hope of being rescued from this situation is soon squashed as you see men fleeing from the city being gunned down by a Huey. Just when you thought you could finally leave.... The Cherno Air Drop is a Survival style event where the last man standing wins. There will be mini events going on inside the city conducted by the admins. Moving 300 meters outside of the city will result in forfeit. All participants will meet at the light house between cherno and electro for processing and screening at 1830 eastern time.     If your looking for a server then I suggest you try Jackpot 28 DayZ Later or VIKINGS server. More information on these brand new servers can be found here. You will spawn and most of it is vanilla DayZ without an overblown amount of vehicles.     Sevral ideas

    These are some of the ideas me and my friend got while playing together. 1. Reduce amount of destroyed vehicles and make them lootable for car parts ( if you have toolbox ) 2. Ability to place an empty backpack in to your backpack ( takes 3 slots as tent ) 3. Make spawns away from shore, like midland or so. 4. ( This is good if 3. idea is made ) Make cities contain more loot, cars, bicycles etc. ( all loot is set high value in Elektro, Cherno and Zelenogorsk ). 5. Add Big zombie hordes that wander around woods. 6. If hit by zombie more than 4 times become infected, can be cured with antibiotics + Blood transfusion, if not die within 1 or 2 hours. ( turns corpse into a zombie ). 7. Add Car batteries. If they run out, lsoe abbility to turn on the car. 8. Add random camps around woods, that contain some food, ammo and maybe handguns, tents should be takeable from them. 9. Some house doors should be blocked with planks, need the crowbar to get them open. 10. Sevral houses in middle of farmland have electricity but are abandoned players could break into them and sort of live there.
