I'd like to this implemented to some degree. If I handcuff a guy whats to say I can't piss on him (as weird as that is) or when vehicles get in why can't I poop on his hood? Or piss in the tank xD

Onto the topic of weapons/their proceeding ammunition, and how rare it should be. This has been a pretty heated topic ever since DayZ loot has existed, and it's good that we feel very passionate about this, but making a nice, mature, discussion topic is something nice to have. In my opinion, I am all for a push on making weapons rare, and their counterpart ammunition even rarer. I am sure the argument can be used that the people in the Czech Republic are prominent owners of firearms, however, how well do you believe this would affect gameplay? I mean, I like to think about this like vehicles. No, vehicles are not that rare in real life as they are in the mod, but in all honesty, you cherish it. It is your baby. You treat it with the utmost respect and would lay your virtual life down on the line to protect it. (Slightly irrelevent, but I thought I would post this along with the topic) I am interested to hear the arguments from the other side on the matter and truly hear the voice of the community. I will be adding a poll along with the topic.

Yes, as long as it remains canon with Chernarus (Not sure how to word it). Eg, CDF Vehicles/corpses rather than, say, US (Plausible if canon w/ ArmA)

Of like to see more of the original game (WarZ) in this blatant ripoff. I especially want the Christmas themed backpacks and hats, and the ability to buy items for extremely silly prices. Oh! And I also loved how many awesome, even unbelievable, features WarZ has! Zombie hordes, vehicles, skill trees, and Fuck it. I don't have the heart to keep thinking about WarZ. -
I agree with Gerander. If it's not in the game now, it should never be added. That goes for everything. No new weapons, no vehicles. The game is perfect as is.

I'm sure people will be less bored once all the features (vehicles etc) are implemented into the standalone. For now, as loyal alpher testers, we are just testing out the fundamentals. To be perfectly honest though, I've logged ~29 hours of dayZ SA already, and I havn't seen "KoS" as being a real problem (and before any assumptions are made, I don't kill unarmed players). I think you sort of missed my point here. I'm not saying you would go into a city looking for hostages, I'm saying you might come across a survivor in a city, and if you can't hold them up and ask them some questions, then you might just shoot them in the face.

A'right, I don't really know what exact things have changed, since the last time I used the thing it was one good year aback, but here goes: We had a server named UK207 running DayZ 1.7.2.3-4, the good ole times when duping worked and the hacked-in AS50 TWS was present... Now, of course, cheaters, teleporters and server hoppers were pretty much prevalent and us server admins hadn't had many privileges over regular players, except for kicking or banning them, so we've got a bit fed up with all this, I've cleaned dust off my noob coding skills and made a completely-legal server-side Win32 cheating tool: As you might (or might not) have known, DayZ as of 1.7.2.4 used to log player, vehicle and tent positions into the ARMAOASERVER.RPT file regularly.. the only problem here, was to determine the correct computing algorithm, parse the few last kilobytes off the server file, and convert those server positions into Chernarus map grid coordinates. Then we were good to go ! It could also spit out the generated map to a separate JPG somewhere on the Net. You know, for non-admin UK207 players to "check" as a bonus of their visit (khe khe). Unfortunately, 1.7.2.5 stripped the server logs off player positions and leaved just those of freshly-put tents, and repaired vehicles, so a thick line was drawn over this little project that was (till now) never really known of. No more raids on unsuspecting players and no more bans for helicopter spawners.. (speaking about helis, their speed really made quite a point-distance difference on the map!). And the purpose of this thread? Well as we all know, DayZ standalone is now out, and although I haven't got to analyze the logs the game spits out today, I can say one thing for sure: every time the positions are going to be logged on the server-side;, legal and completely undetectable cheating will always exist in this game. Just saying. Heck, if a popular demand was created I could update it and make this thing public, to assist other server admins who are fed up with cheaters.. and give 'em a little bonus as they pay and rent their servers... (Ofc there might be a ton of similar utilities on the Net nowadays, I did not check really). So, um, yeah. Play safe :)

How come everything else was released unfinished and worse then the mod but not the vehicles? its going to be the same style of driving as arma 3 dont try and tell us otherwise. -

Well. If Early 2014 stands for first 2 months (if its Q1 then fck) then i guess we can have the vehicles in by April? :P I WISH and hope so.

they purposely didnt add vehicles to keep people playin glonger and slow down the game.... it make the map bigger aswell.. no more going from NWAF to coast in minutes with a car/Heli.. personaly i like the lack of motor-vehicles. -

Vehicles will not be added for a very long time. They are being completely redone and improved so that the end product is much better than what we all know and hate in the mod.

Hello, It is very boring to walk around the map without a vehicle, without mentioning that the delay walking is immense. The game gets more emerged when playing with cars, helicopters, airplanes, trucks, boats etc. So my question is: when can we play with vehicles? Thank you and sorry for my basic English! :)

Problem about private hives is that it gives too much freedom to the admins. * Such as the 20,000 vehicles , 200 barracks , 1,000 helicopters , 24/7 day If Isolated servers where to be introduced. Rocket could keep the system he wants and it would remove the, ghosting and loot server hopping. * Isolated servers would not grant admins to change the server settings. Not to mention this would discourage clan only servers, but if admins have the ability to restart. They will abuse it for sure to gain an advantage in gear. -
What's with all this hate on Epoch...? How would it ruin SA? It's not like adding Epoch would cause Vanilla to cease to exist.. Everyone likes different things, alot of you here obviously hate Epoch, but I bet there are some that might even hate Vanilla because of how easy it is to get to the endgame there. Certain Epoch servers have AI missions, basebuilding, disabled traders (something I appreciate, survival shouldnt be something you can simply buy). However with the extra weapons, vehicles and rarities that Epoch (and ofcourse other mods like Origins) features, theres a much further endgame than you'd find in vanilla dayz. IMO it's not really fair that you should simply stop others from experimenting and modding their servers for the simple reason that you don't like it. You people should rather just stick to the servers you like and leave the modders to do their thing.

There is a program you can use to map certain buttons to key strokes can't remember right now I used it for driving vehicles back I t he day on the mod.

I had an idea, and would love to hear the communities input. Dayz Standalone has a very complex crafting system and simulates many aspects of daily life. But lets face it, how many people in this world know how to medical procedures, work on guns, fix cars, etc. No one person should be able to do it all....perfectly. A profession system would allow you to rig up stuff but its not going to be working as if a professional did it. doctor: Can use medical equipment on self and others with highest efficiency. mechanic: Can work on vehicles and repair them with highest efficiency. gunsmith: Can switch out parts on guns and attach them without damaging them and doing so in a way that doesn't impact accuracy or functionality (less jams). athlete: Able to run slightly faster, with less penalty to food and water. thug: Starts with the lowest quality pistol with a few bullets and handcuffs. All other classes would recieve a penalty when trying to perform the function of another profession. Example: A blood transfusion from a Doctor will replenish 100% healthbut when another class attempts a blood transfusion there is a 50% infection rate and only replenishes to 50% blood. Anyone other than a mechanic that repairs a car can get it only up to 50% durability rather than 100%. Someone who works on guns that isnt a gunsmith will take an accuracy penalty and possibly damage the gun parts. All numbers are arbitrary so don't criticize them, rather criticize the merits of the idea in general. Thanks

Ho ho hold the fuck up. Some people get more out of playing the game. Some people get more out of programming a game. This is Win-Win people! Innovation is key to everyone, and mods of the SA are a great idea. Epoch is a beautiful distraction, and while not the nail biting experience with DayZ, it is quite fun to access so many vehicles. DayZ SA is not an end. It's a milestone. Have you even heard of the Oculus Rift? I'm this --> <--- close to making an arduino activate a servo to trigger a taser when I get shot in the SA. That's realism!
