    Camouflage nets

    How about camouflage nets in the game ? You would be able to put them on your vehicles so they are less visible when you park them in a forrest, maybe even put them over your backpack so they don't stand out that much. Or maybe some kind of camouflage cover to put over the backpacks. 2 examples of what i mean as attachements Greetz SkunkWarz ;)

  3. you should have said that. The way you worded it simply felt like you meant h1z1 had a long view distance. Also jeep wranglers arent exactly the fastest vehicles in the world. My old 2001 struggled to go past 70. Yes im not exaggerating.
  4. No. Having a name over your head means you cant hide. reduces immersion. And slow vehicles also reduces immersion and jsut doesn't make sense

    Your dismissal of an issue, based on the fact that we don't "need" it to have fun, is what is irrelevant. Nothing is "needed" in DayZ, but it is nonetheless added because of what it adds to the experience. Pick an item/mechanic in DayZ, and you can make the argument that we don't "need" it. We don't need vehicles to have fun in DayZ, yet they're inbound. I'd have fun if I had to purify my water, because of the off-chance that some douchenozzle bandit might've contaminated it via defecation. As an aside, why do people only focus on the fact that defecating is "realistic"? I don't give a shit if it's realistic or not, I care about what it has the potential to contribute to DayZ. Why is purposefully defecating to contaminate a water supply somehow over the line?

  7. I didn't sift through all 42 pages of comments, just the first couple and didn't see a mention of this, so hopefully I'm not beating the dead horse. Given my line of work, I would like to see more explosives in the game. I'm not just talking hand grenades, flash bangs, tear gas canisters, land mines (both anti-personnel and anti-tank), rocket launchers etc etc etc. But mostly I'm interested in the use of smaller, homemade explosives. Once you go inland there are a large number of farms. Farms generally have a few things such as fertilizer and diesel fuel, while these are not the only ingredients necessary, it would be enough (in the gaming world) to create a small (depending on container size) bomb which can be used to destroy zombies, or initiate complex ambushes on fellow live players. Throw in some scrap metal or nails and make it even better. But that may require reworking the ability to destroy vehicles and or buildings. Because I would likely wire a whole town to go up on someone.
  8. Refuel/Rearm/Repair added to gas stations Plot pole now assigns to player ID. No longer required to remove plot pole after death. Map markers added to AI island. More AI on the island. AI vehicles and static M2 Removed maintain/decay. You are required to register your base on our website using the form provided. Bases will be deleted if not registered. Next will be deploy bike.   11. Vehicles. It's important because of vehicles. It's all about the physics engine; throwing is like a by-product of that. That's why I think the devs time was well spent.

    DayZ is not an MMO. No stats, traits, level, experience. None of that. However base building, vehicles, helicopters, and zombie hordes are the way to go.

    Apparently they know about the problem with dealing damage to zombies, but they said this during experimental and still pushed it to stable so who knows when it will be fixed. According to Rocket's development roadmap at Rezzed they are planning to start putting vehicles in the game around Q3.

    I agree; however zombies are broken right now. go shoot one and you'll find that you trigger a 100% inescapable string of zombie spawns. the same one will respawn over and over and over within 100m of you and imediately re aggro no matter how many times you kill it. if theres more then one and you dont have zombie un-accesible place nearby to wait it out your just screwed if solo. they realy dont seem to spawn untill you start to pull aggro. also there needs to be support for group play in the form of construction (even if primative), storage, and atleast basic vehicles.

    Have people in this game gone insane?

    In short: Yes. Yes, we have gone insane. Why? I do not know. I approached DayZ, when it was a mod, as my friends told me it was this awesome Zombie survival game. Although I did not get to play it at the time I quickly turned to YouTube videos in order to see what I was missing out on. I quickly realized that the game is not about zombies at all. It is about weird ass player interactions and the incredibly clunky but still lovable engine that is Arma 2. I laughed so hard the first time I saw someone ride his bike away from another guy chasing him with a shovel, screaming mild profanities at him. It was basically something I had not seen before and from that point on I decided that I had to play it. I got SA when it came out and I was told that this one would focus more on the actual surviving aspects. But. Nope. Not really. There were less zombies around and to top it off they were also significantly weaker. I went back to DayZ Mod/Overwatch for a while but that thing had weapons and vehicles everywhere and made it kind of lackluster for me. So. Now I am back playing DayZ almost daily. Why? Because I love that you can log on to the game and every single day something absolutely ridiculous will happen. Granted, this is mostly due to my personality and that I force these kind of random events of nonsense but still. It is like a shooter with a really strange and weird twist to it, for me. Some obvious twelve year olds scream obscene words at me. Some just wants to shout racist remarks at me as soon as I play as one of the non-caucasian characters and some play the silent bandit that will go out of their way to kill you no matter what. Myself? At the moment I just play it as the local weirdo. I trust no one and I usually end up in really strange situations due to my approach of playing it basically like a crazy person. Should the racist idiots stay away from this game? Yes, please. Should cheaters and hackers be banned? Of course. But is any of the "legit" ways of playing "correct" compared to others? Not really. Your perception of how the game SHOULD be played may not match with mine. I think we all need to accept that an open ended game like this will always mean that there will be many people in the game with VASTLY different outlooks on the game. I actually think we need KoS and backstabbing, without it the game would be too lame imo. It adds suspense and immersion and a feeling of never being safe. If the survival aspect is inforced however, then focus could of course shift from shooter more towards survival. Anyway, that was my rant. Here is a video of me playing. Some hate it, some love it. It is DayZ.

    I wouldn't hardly call it an arena battle mate. Scarcity necessitates PvP. Simple as. You work hard to make sure you and your crew has all the best stuff, then use that stuff to make sure any other groups who may want to theaten your position in that server DONT have that stuff. (By stealin from thier bases, capturing/destroying vehicles, and kliing any of them who take a pop shot at you in the process.) the more time They spend re organizing, respawning, and re looting gear the less time they have to cause you any trouble- only bugger is almost ever competent PvP oriented dayZ clan also thinks this way :)

    Lategame features encourage group play. they do not spare the lives of clueless randoms. Cooperation goes up, Pvp does not delcine however. See epoch. You go from cherno KOSers to clans and squads fighting over caches and bases and blowing up eachothers vehicles- which is good imho. i really like how that environment somehwat factionalizes servers without any clunky faction mechanics. people group up/clan up because thats how you loot airdrops/caches. thats how you end up with briefs full of gold and in turn, plenty of helos to pillage opposing clans with :)

    Thread in defense of banditry

    The devs arent trying to stop banditry- they are however trying to incentivize emergent interactions other then just blowin' everyones head off on sight. Providing Options like handcuffs and having things hit by gunfire be damaged makes it more "vlauable" to hold someone up then simply snipe them. The BIG problem i have with the developement philosphy that i see is the idea that "if we make the game stupidly complicated and hard to survive people will stop fighting eachother". artifically inflating difficulty to try to steer playstiles to thier vision is the worst possible way to address it. all this stuff like multiple types of illness, random infections from dozens of sources, multiple blood types, etc. All interesting enough but they seem more intent on producing "field medic simulator" over providing content that Already worked in the mod. (see tents, vehicles, Balistics instead of gamey dispersion cones) Making it more obnoxious to survive for one more hour of play time wont make me more willing to help unknown randoms- if anythign i'd more more inclined to avoid them first, and kill if confronted rather then have to deal with the hastle of getting back to my curent position within the game.

    As-50_Thermal and MP5K [ Standalone ]

    I have nothing wrong with insta-Kill anywhere snipers, M107 or AS50 only the TWS varient featuring the thermal optics. Infact given the location and it being the post-apocalypse i would argue that anything featuring such fancy optics would be darn near non-existant, and even if fround good luck finding the specilized bateries/power packs for such optics. if storage is done properly this time rarity of both weapon and ammo mount reasonable balances. One of the biggest issues with the most powerful things on DayZ mod was the sheer number of Dupe exploits rangign from tents, to back packs, to vehicles, to clans restarting servers after thier members moved a bunch of stuff and ALT-F4 with it, so with that in mind im not adverse to things like a lapua or .50 based sniper weapon, just Thermal/NV scopes.

Teams of four are very welcome to join as a new squadron and single players are invited with just as much acceptance! Once accepted each player will be assigned a task, this task reflects your rank within the clan and can be promoted through the ranks! There are four categories of tasks each overseen by a member of the RSR government. We aim for an equal and fair society in which everything is split between everyone fairly, and the tasks split accordingly! Tasks: Assault Teams- Monitored by [RSR][E]Nathan97 The Assault team task group will be split in to as many squadrons as possible. A squadron is a group of four people each consisting of a different skill within that group. Places for this will be auditioned for as squadrons will be split into group order with the lower squadrons taking on more medial Zombie tasks and being able to be hired out for cover and the higher of the assault teams will have access to heavier weaponry and will be the support arms called in for raids on AI bases, ect. The four positions and roles played within the team are: 1) Team Leader Tasks: -Organises choices for his Squad.-Driver of the Squad.-Carries extra medical supplies for his/her team.-Carries a mid-range assault rifle. Characteristics: -A fair leader.-A tactician whose priority is the safety of the team.-A shoot only when shot policy- only if necessary. 2) Marksman Tasks: -Scopes out bases/targets.-Takes first shot if able.-No close combat as should provide cover.-Carries range finders and a sniper rifle. Characteristics: -Listens to the Team Leader-Doesn't shot unless told to or in open combat.-Protection of the team is paramount.-High hit rate with a sniper rifle. 3) Heavy Gunner Tasks: -Suppressant fire for the team.-Takes out large groups of Zombies.-Operates all mounted guns driven by the Team Leader.- Carries a lot of ammo.-Armed with a Light Machine Gun to provide cover for the team. Characteristics: -Self sacrifice for the team if necessary. -Listens to orders. 4) Assault Gunner Tasks: -Carries little gear and is able to loot.-Runner to get transport.-Scouts out areas at close range.-Armed with either an Assault Rifle or Sub-machine Gun Characteristics: -Follows orders.-Good looter.-Good shot at close range. Base Management - Monitored by [RSR][E]Max97 As a member of Base Management you will be expected to help in the construction of private accommodation for new clan members, categorise the loot coming in from AI missions, help run the admin shop, ensure that clan structures are secure and safe which will require good evaluation skills and, without stating the obvious, you will need to know the basics of building but if it is needed the Base Management team can teach you the extra tricks of the trade. Looters Tasks: -Go out looting general supplies-Make sure the clan has what we need-Organise items Builders Tasks: -Building bases to specifications -Higher ranks help run Admin Shop -Organise items -Make building materials -Make Clan packages Transportation- Monitored by [RSR][E]Scopetime The Transportation group is the final group which can be joined. This group does what it says in the title it transports people! Duties are NOT just limited to clan needs but server needs as well! There are however a few tests needed to be passed in order to receive driver status as someone becoming a driver who can't drive would be catastrophic! Certain members of this group will need to take up Mechanic role as a sub-role.     I mean, on one hand, it seems that adding features like vehicles and camp building will keep people from sitting around and sniping, and nailing fresh spawns, I also feel that those same people will still KoS anyone that comes near their vehicle/base/loot what have you. As for consequences, I don't see how they could be any worse at this point. I mean, I don't support adding bullet tracers or sniper trails (unless realistic) in this game. I don't support damage indicators. I guess part of me tarting this thread is me not wanting to run around KoSing, but as I'm getting used to the game and gearing up quicker, I'm wanting something more to do that doesn't involve ruining peoples days. I just really think the game is awesome now, and has SO much potential. Here's hoping that the devs get it right in the end and create a game that is fun and challenging while also sticking to their guns and not turning it into an FPS.

    I wouldn't mind them adding a high powered rifle, like the AS-50 at all, but only if they made it nearly fucking impossible to get. Even then, without persistent storage, I wouldn't see it lasting too awefully long in the world without a group effort at not only protecting it, but being industrious enough to keep ammo around for it, which I would also assume would be extremely rare. Even then, I can only ask: why? It;s an anti-material rifle. Shooting people with it is a small fraction of what a weapon like that is capable of, and vehicles aren't currently in the game. I wouldn't sweat it too much. Maybe it's just a joke anyway :P
