As the topic states, Unforces old Epoch-server was converted to OverPoch mod with a twist and it is finally ready after long dayz of hard work from the Head Admin Senith. Server includes several improvements and custom areas with loot crates and stuff. Unforce as a clan also hosts free TeamSpeak3-server for their players. Server includes following scripts: - Single Currency and Banks with mobile banking interface via safes - Auto refuel & repair - Advanced AI-missions - Self bloodbag - Custom bases with lootcrates - Reworked NWAF - Customised traders - Gemstones are also a form of currency - Reworked safe-zones - SNAP PRO-building active - Customised HUD - Towing and Lifting (with appropriate vehicles) - M113 APC:s from Hero/Bandit trader - Take clothes Just to name a few.. This server fits perfectly for all kind of players, loot tables have been tuned so that even a lone wolf player will feel starting here enjoyable. Horses probably could be one of the best vehicles in the game. No motor sounds, easy to hide, easy to feed, no repairs.

Dear DayZ community, Dear DayZ Mod dev team, this is to express my deepest concerns about the recent shutdown of the public hive for the good old vanilla DayZ mod. Playing on the public hive has been the most intense and fun gaming experience I've had in years, but since a few days, it's all gone. Please, if you definitely can, do answer the following questions. 1. What happened? Rumor has it that the public hive was hosted on HFB Servers, which appears to have gone out of business. This is a bit hard to believe for me. What about backups? There must be somebody who has/had direct access to the database... 2. Is there ANY way how I can continue playing my 30k humanity hero again? :( 3. If the public hive as we knew it really has gone forever, can't you/we just start off with a new one hosted somewhere else? I really really miss playing DayZ. I don't want to play the standalone as long as it doesn't have a humanity/vehicle/loot system like the mod does. I don't want to play the "300+ vehicles" crap that totally kills the intense DayZ feel. I've hesitated to play on private servers because I'm a lone wolf ranging the woods, fearing that he will get lost in clan wars among people who stick to a single server. I would like to build up humanity and keep it, not lose it again as soon as the server admin decides to wipe their private hive... :( -RomanZ

they are cute arent they but nowhere near as cute as your complete dayz development cheersquad outfit if survival is the focus why is a new weapon introduced every couple of months to a game based off a military sim made by a company that made its name on the back of military sims in a game set in a fictional militant state full of military buildings and vehicles with players running round in military gear that get on forums discussing the pros and cons of game based military weapons futher more go into in-depth discussion about MOA of weapons as oppossed to hydroponics and horticulture and farming or basic first aid ... face it the game is a shooter first and survival game 2nd this game got its pvp stigma years ago and nothing short of pure PvE servers will change it ...

So my clan plays on this server. We thought it would be worth it to post an honest review of the server here. So far we have been playing for about 2 and a half weeks and we have a decent base setup. The admins here are real and play legit the server population needs a jump start to grow. The prices here certainly match the vehicles. By that I mean a BTR60 for example is rather pricey. It evens out to be 4 rubies which translates to 48 briefcases essentially. You can get a brief or 2 at most missions. There is usually 2 or 3 missions up at a time. +1 obviously. It makes no sense to wait for vehicles to be added. I probably won't want to use a vehicle in the end, so it makes sense for the devs to implement what they can as quickly as possible. Also, people are complaining about zeds being to easy to beat, and the game being too easy in general... if we got tired from running and fighting and got weaker and more fatigued then those comments would disappear pretty sharpish!

Oh BTW you can ALREADY build & fortify in H1Z1 and it isn't even in pre-alpha yet & they have vehicles already & you can craft your own weapons & the zombies pretty much take care of the kiddie KoSer's for you -
The idea of finding plates without a carrier is interesting. I could be fashioned improvised armor on vehicles or strapped in backpacks as a improvised carrier.

About server: This is the best server ever on which i played, theres alot of interesting things, new missions, indestructable bases, call airdrops with hotwire kit, awesome traders, random trader of armed vehicles, AI - NPC BASEs with extra loot, armed planes, vehicles and helies like mi24, ka60, ka52, Su25, su 34, a10, warrior, bradly, lav, stryker, btr 40, 60, 90 Hq sn AL etc. The problem is server lost his population because of summertime and we need more player or server will be close for ever ! :((( Please try it and if you like it enjoy it if not leave but i don't think you will leave it cause its awesome and has alot of cool things!!! Y'all shout about how this game isn't meant to be realistic cause of the run speed and infinite run and whatever... You do realize that the run speed is close to 30km/h... think maybe that that speed and infinite stamina is implemented to make up for the fact there's no vehicles? DayZ is a zombie survival horror simulation game. You can expect everything to be as realistic as possible once the game is complete.

The buildings are cracked and in disrepair for the same reason, nobody employed in upkeep, or even no inhabitants some of the time. Here's some pictures of locations in Czechoslovakia which exist without any apocalypses right now, thanks to the Russians invading, building huge pieces of infrastructure which were never used, and leaving them to be abandoned. The apocalypse just contributed to the general shitty look of the place. Rusty cars? Farmers don't splash out on Armorall." Not only are the random cars just sitting in farms rusty, but also even the military blockades and fortifications that were clearly set up as the result of a disaster. And it's not just that they're working solely on models they re-used from ArmA 2, they added a brand new destroyed BVP-2 (amphibious APC) model that exists within the various bases and locations that are clearly run down. I also find it really hard to believe that every single car in a 225 square kilometer region would be rusted beyond belief, even if they weren't working. Yes, I know working vehicles are on their way, but to say that every single car would've been driven away is ridiculous. And even places that should be in well working order are looking run down, the apartment blocks which haven't been cleared out of furnishings still have signs of major disuse, in fact, ALL of new buildings that they've added look run down. Even all of the buildings that you can enter are clearly rotting, not a single building looks like it was spared, which I simply find hard to believe. I WAS BEING SARCASTIC. They aren't. Taloon and Mountain are both shiny, but neither of them are military, which is what I was pointing out as to his criticism that the military issues "shiny backpacks". Okay, I apologize for this misconception. I haven't actually bothered to go near any Taloon backpacks in a while so I was just assuming you were making a serious argument. But there isn't plenty of other unrealistic stuff you could list off. Those are inaccuracies, not gameplay concessions over realism. They will patch them as people complain. This is an alpha. You've only listed weapon inaccuracies and you can bet that if people make complaints they will change some of these things in the interest of realism, unless they can't be bothered. People have been complaining about weapon inaccuracies since the alpha was released, frequently visiting this forum proves that. Plenty of people advocate for "realistic" calibers and it's been said over and over again that that's not the dev's design plan. Also, inaccuracies are just as valid of an argument when you're trying to make a simulator. That means no concessions, outside of design/engine/programming limitations should really be made, unless absolutely necessary. Modelling realistic weapons, or at the very least, realistic variations of them, is probably not a huge problem for the devs. In order to improve gameplay and expand the attachment system, they made some concessions. Realistically speaking you'd be less likely to find some of the weapons ingame than a golden AKM (I'll get to that later). But I highly doubt they're going to remove any weapons from the game. Exactly, yet. it's not a gameplay thing, they're just WORKING ON IT. When I said yet, I was just implying that it's not completely out of the question that it could one day be in. Except you can't list something as unrealistic they haven't even done yet. I wasn't actually listing that off as a specific reason, it was more of a follow up to what I'd said before. He never said he was making some of the things you listed completely intentionally, that's just putting words in his mouth. And when you're listing weapon inaccuracies which don't change the gameplay in any way, such as the Mosin bolt anachronism, they are CLEARLY not intentional, and definitely not a result of concession to gameplay over realism. Maybe they are temporary, maybe they only had certain models and stuff on call. Doesn't mean they won't be changing things down the track. I would reckon that saying he's said that they're strictly adhering to realism is just as much "putting words in his mouth". As for whether it affects gameplay, fine, the specific instance that the Mosin has a bent bolt is not going to affect gameplay in of itself, but the fact that the Mosin can accept the LRS and PU scope on the fly, which is not possible in real life without extensive modification, does affect gameplay. The fact that the Mosin's compensator reduces dispersion, does affect gameplay, the fact that deploying a bipod just reduces dispersion but not kick, does affect gameplay. The fact that the MP5-K has rails that it shouldn't have does affect gameplay, and the fact that a pronged flashhider reduces dispersion does affect gameplay. The fact that the AK-101 and AKM can interchange parts does affect gameplay. But is all of it necessarily realistic? No. I wouldn't try to say that it wasn't intentional, though. Unless you're actually on the dev team, how can you claim to speak for them? -
I kind of like the idea but it has so many flaws. I assume though that servers would fill up faster because people want the game to be running, and ALOT of unnecessary servers out there will be dead. I can't think of a better fix before Private Hives, and Private hives bring alot of advantages, like taking out looting on empty servers, but we will pay in another way for that gift. (vehicles x500%, weapons, disneyland like in epoch with cars you can never enter if you dont have the key.)

While that was a pretty cool feature on many of the mods, including vanilla (customized only maybe?), I felt it did detract a bit from the excitement of hearing/seeing a helicopter and knowing it was a player/group. I personally feel it's a bit more of a thrill if the only vehicles are player driven for that reason.
