    I have 2 question regarding vehicles : - Will they respawn when crashed or not saved for a very long time (one week or two) in the next updates ? - Will the "impossible to refuel" helicopter bug be fixed ?

    Will there be a fix for vehicles not being able to be repaired, or not being able to give blood transfusions/bandage other players without disconnecting and reconnecting? (seems that the first scroll wheel action in the game gets stuck with you until you reconnect)

  6. Hey there everyone. I'm a user of the G13 myself and made an Arma2 profile. (Mostly for DayZ really). I didn't play Arma for quite a while till I switched to DayZ, so the M2 and M3 (Land and air vehicles) modes are kind of lacking. It basically uses the same setup that I use in every game. Felt like I might as well share it with you guys, even though I do suspect everyone with a G13 has his own setup they want to stick to. (Look at G1. Doesn't make Walking Simulator that bad) You can download my DayZ G13 profile here Then I also use a G700 mouse, that has 4 buttons at the side and 3 buttons right next to the left mouse button. Thumb buttons: Bottom Left = Push to Talk on Teamspeak Bottom Right = Direct Comms voice Top Left = Zoom in Top Right = Zoom out Buttons next to left mouse button: Front = Zero Up Center = Setpoint profile switching (Not for the game) Back = Zero Down The only ingame control that I changed is that I unbound Zooming when you hold right mouse button!

    Skills and skin appearance

    Although I strongly agree with you when it comes to implementing abilities in dayz allowing for more cooperation and tension, I have come to realise that a class system labels the player as something he may not identify with. For example someone may have killed many low humanity players but that does not mean he wants to spawn as a cop. Rocket has stated in interviews that he wants to give the player the possibility to create his own story. I believe an ability system could be implemented in a more subtle way, thus allowing players to identify with their own character. What if players would have a limited amount of points that they could assign to abilities? Since points are limited no one survivor can be proficient at every skill so creating groups will eventually become natural; sure you may survive on your own but a group may accomplish much more for a given time. It could look somewhat like this: Ability: Survival For each point assigned more meat can be obtained when hunting animals. 1/3: Can set up fire even during raining 2/3: Able to set traps, can built temporary shelter out of wood (for multiple players) 3/3: Able to identify useful plants (food or medical purpose) Ability: Medicine 1/3: Bandages stop bleeding faster (You should be able to bandage someone else). 2/3: Drug administration more effective. (How could Joe Sixpack possibly know how to use the right concentration of morphine, he could die of asphyxia!). Able to use splint for players with broken legs, quicker healing. 3/3: Able to transfer blood effectively and without risk of infection. Ability: Repair 1/3: Can repair cars (although still smoking) 2/3: Can repair cars more effectively, broken weapons found in the world can be repaired 3/3: Can repair helicopters and other heavy vehicles (maybe even fortify existing vehicles?) Ability: Firearms For each point assigned weapons stop wavering a lot faster (increased accuracy) as well as lower recoil.
  8. Make blood bags only usable on someone else, part of blood transfusion. Make it so people can actually group. Then require people, to have say 2-5 people in their group. In order to fix a car or heli. Make more vehicles spawn. Increase number in group, depending on how good the vehicle/heli is. Make motorcyle or bicycle for solo people, but scarce. Make it so if your in a group. That your temperature lowers slower, due to body heat from each other. Make groups have the ability to share, a can of beans or water. But split it accordingly, far as how much you receive back. There for, still takes same amount of food for max refill. But 1 guy can help another slightly, if both are in need. Give more alert to gunfire, when in a group. To pinpoint PK'ers. I dont have a solid idea to achieve this though. But realistically it makes sense. Be different, if everybody was actually talking. But has to be a way to do it, then still be realistic. But for say a slain group member, by gun fire. Make a blood splat on floor from body, to general direction of PK'er. Be a good start. Feel these ideas fit the game more accordingly. Than any class system that would break, current experience. Or any idea, that makes it feel more as a game, instead of survival.

    Ammo pack / bandolier

    The 12 slots in your inventory is the loadbearing/vest you are carying alredy.(Just be happy they dident use the medic as a templet fore the survivors they have 8slot inventory :P) Yeah pretty much this. You have plenty of room as it is. Main gear slots represent the vest/pouches, secondary is your belt, and then you have a backpack. This is already a huge loadout. Not to mention you can store any extra supplies in a tent. One of the big elements in the game is gear management. Should I drop these beans for another mag, or keep the beans and hope I don't get into a firefight? If any kind of new "pack" item should be added in, it should be something like a buttpack that replaces your secondary weapon slot and allows main gun ammo to be stored there. There's really no reason to be a ninja running around with 2 main weapons, 8+ mags for both of them, a pistol with 8+ mags, food, water med supplies, and still be able to carry firewood/vehicle parts. You have to sacrifice room if you want to do something other than shoot stuff. With more content getting added all the time this is just going to make managing your loadout an even bigger part of the game. Soon tents and other ways to store supplies will be needed if you want to fix vehicles or do other item heavy tasks. And I look forward to this.
  10. Well.. I would not go as far as saying im gonna quit. This gome is still being developed and some days whe game works better than others. Its the name of the game. But I think what you are talking about is that these players decided to live real life for a couple days, wich is a good thing. But it is true. The tents and car bring continuity to the game, wich is very important. I like the cruelty and harshnes of the game. One minute you feel all power and mighty, and the next minute one of your friend has been sniped and zombies are attacking and you are bleeding and shooting and afraid that bullets gonna end or you bleed to death or that scum sniper is still out there looking for a shot at you. Panic and chaos and you might loose everything you achieved in the past few days. I really hope vehicles will be implimented on all servers soon. I found one car in one US server. I hope its still in the same place after server restarted. havent checked yet as i am runing along the coast looking for a damn tool box. Used to have many of them in my tent. But now that i need one, i cant fine one. Anyways, i have a goal now so playing the game is fun atm.
  11. Teamwork could be encouraged by creating characters with specialisations. The game could assign, or let players choose, roles at spawn based on what they did for a living before Day Z: E.g if you were a mechanic, you can fix vehicles very easily (don't need so many parts) If you were a soldier, you can use military weapons with great accuracy (score more damage per shot?) If you were a hunter, the Zombies can't hear or see you so easily. If you were a doctor, you can heal other players more effectively. If you were a farmer, you can find food more easily (or to reflect this, last longer on a meal). I'm sure there are more possible roles.... might encourage people to work together.

    I have found: Four busses (One in Staroye fully repaired, two broken in cherno and another in novy sobor) One UAZ (on the coastal road, fully repaired but without fuel) Two white cars (in Zelengorsk, with four wheels missing and one south of NW airfield) One Red Car (In Three Valleys) One Helicopter (West of Lopatino, fully repaired, no fuel) A boat outside Kamenka This was on EU3. Unfortunately we had to ditch our favourite server because the admin is never on, its always buggy, no one resets it when it goes wrong and yesterday it was full of hackers spawning tanks. Hope this helps, we are just average players and have came across lots of different vehicles.

    I'm in no way an expert on the matter but the last few weeks we havent been able to find any of the choppers or any desent vehicles, found a ATV and a few boats but most are like sunken into the ground :-/

Hello again Rko, Most of your points have been explained by other users on the forum and I am glad they have some sense and make legitimate points rather than just witch hunt on hear say :heart: I just popped on to add a few of my own points and hopefully help resolve your misunderstanding and misdirected anger. First of all, good gear is more than readily available in the north it's not uncommon to find people carrying a lot of high end loot from farming of the nw barracks for example. I see you said you haven't found anything good yet but trust me keep trying and you will ;) Second the server was locked after the crash to allow tents and vehicles to spawn correctly, it seems that without doing this tents and vehicles vanish randomly. Another server admin in the post points this out. Thirdly, I did not kill anyone on the night in question let alone get shot by anyone, so I am afraid you are mistaken and it simple was not me. I have several people that can vouch for me being half way across the map at the time, since I seem to remember you said it happened in Cherno or elektro. Another point is that no FS member was in your location at the time. Just to finish off, I tried and would have explained these simple points to you at the time but tbh you were jumping to conclusions and being rude :( I had no control over the server crashing, had no reason to crash it?! and it happens, just the other day it crashed and when I reconnected I was in purgatory and was forced to respawn myself, bye bye good loot. So i do understand your anger and frustration but just calm down next time and realise that other gamers have feelings too.   15. Vehicles are a necessity for people to stick around. After you've gotten military drops a few times, the game really loses its shine - tonight a few players said they quit because there was nothing else to do.

    Can't repair vehicles 1.5.8.4

    People are getting really tired of not being able to use/repair vehicles. It's time we get a fix on this and cut the restriction crap on newer servers as well. It's a pain in the ass to transport all your gear across this 250km² map on foot when your camping tent is raided. We need to be able to lock vehicles and their content as well - or at least be able to setup a tent well hidden right next to a bush/tree or in a forest. There's just not enough hiding spots in clearings, people always get lost and wander in the middle of nowhere a lot and find your stuff by coincidence since you can't really hide your stuff.. Same happened to me. Tried to fix a Huey, had all the parts necessary, but never gave me the option to repair anything (the red text in the mousewheel menu never showed up). Even tried downgrading to 1.5.8.2 and 1.5.7. Had the text fading out into black and the herpa derpa version mismatch text, but was able to walk around and open the menu. Didn't work either. May be related to the main action stuck with you wherever you are (Save old camping tent, Save UH-1 Huey, etc..).

    I love all aspects of this game , but what makes the game complete for me is the Heli's and cars. Who doesn't want a quiker way of transportation , a search/adventure looking for these rare driveable things . Since the vehicles got removed i've started playing less , i hope they are added in again soon and the respawn on them is fixed. Somehow this is the most fun part of DayZ for me , getting vehicels !
  19. Mechanisms to add/change: Less ammo. More zombies. No morphine fixing broken bones, instead only temporarily walk for ~30 min. Require splints from other players to return full mobility. Reduce the amount of blood returned by food and meat so that blood bags are actually necessary and you can't return 6000+ hp by hunting a bit. Remove passive blood regen. Bigger projects to build like getting power plants working, building outposts which require some decent amount of material to build (which can give larger storage space ~100 slots). Reduce tent storage space (~30 slots?) to make outposts more worth it. Current things players can do: Players also need to start learning how to work together effectively. Everyone complains about bandits and all I see are people raiding the most dangerous places together with no overwatch or guard. Players also don't seem to realize the power of having working vehicles. You can turn a hour run north to a 20 min drive or a 10 min flight. Note: none of these changes nerfs any particular play style, just makes the game harder overall.

    On 'our' server vehicles are gone and not respawning, or so it's said, believe me when I say we've looked everywhere.
  21. I got that message saying that i was missing or deleted the vehicles file, weapons, and etc. I re-installed everything correctly like 4 times, made sure i had the exact -mod=@dayz -nosplash in launch options, and still wont work.... can i talk on TS or something?

    Choosing your spawn

    It's not a terrific social experiment if I spend 2 hours searching for my friend to experience it with. Larger groups have it easier as they have better means to repair vehicles. I agree that it was a fun challenge the first few times we did it, but with him dying and each random location resets... I get a little less interested in running through the woods forever. The most intense moments of panic and emotion are when we're together trying to make the best of it. It's a lot more harrowing when someone blows your best pal's face off around the corner from you then some random stranger you've only ever typed "friendly" to. Should he be able to magically spawn on top of me everytime he dies? NO! Should we spend our entire play session meeting in a center location between Kamenka and Berezino? NO. Quote realism as much as you want... there's no realistic explanation concerning where we spawn as is. Were you a a resident in this town? Did your boat wash up on the beach? Did you have any close neighbors that survived the apocalypse? Before the apocalypse, me and my friend co-owned a fishing business based in Kamyshovo. I'm just saying, Random does not equal a perfect system. It doesn't have to be stupidly easy, but it shouldn't be impossibly boring time sinks.
