  1. Survivors don't have massive amounts of supplies' date=' guns, and all the vehicles they need to get from place to place. They also can't predict when someone logs into the woods they just cleared. The only way to play as a Survivor is to simply not play at all. The variables and scenarios ALWAYS favors bandits. Bandits don't need to go into town for supplies because they can have them driven in by their buddies camping the NWAF. And forget about getting anywhere near, they have NVGs and DMRs on some server you've never heard of, so shooting them does nothing more than give them a 10 minute time out. As I've said before, there's a big difference between difficult and stupid. Sudoku is difficult, skydiving without a parachute because it's "hardcore" is stupid. [/quote'] Where do you get all this stuff from? I consider myself a bandit, have been for a while. I've been playing since about the middle of April, and i've only had a working vehicle twice. I don't use tents, because frankly they never used to work and I don't trust them. I am part of a 2-man team, and to be honest, i've never even found a pair of NVG's in the game. I don't server hop, I don't disconnect when i'm fired upon, I play the game as it is. Hell, i've never even had a DMR. I do all my sniping open sights with a enfield, and I never camp the beach. You seem to have this big boogeyman persona of bandits, like we all have hummer brigades full of people thirsting for your beans, rolling into combat with anti-material rifles and thermal scopes, armed to the teeth just for the sole purpose of ruining your game. Maybe there is a small percentage of people out there just like what i've described, but is it fair to lump all of us into that category? The PVE crowd doesn't want us to associate them with the quote un quote 'carebears' or 'CoD crowd', but you automatically treat any bandit as some sort of game exploiting blood thirsty asshole.
  2. If we were teleporting in vehicles why would we take a shit car, also we just DROVE there we followed your tracks by heading up north, protip don't barricade your roads it gives us a path to start out on. Other videos of us are uploading You followed our tracks?....really the tracks that don't render or show up on PAVED ROADS. We killed a few of you at our camp we had just set up then about 10 seconds later the same people we killed were back at the camp with NVG's and high end gear. We took us in whatever cars/trucks we could to get away and try save what we could. You guys spawned in front or behind us in a "crappy car" with gear. You guys are awful lairs hey We followed the road up north and we found you, our team mates geared up on our server then we stole your car from your camp picked up our team mates then headed up north. Also we fucking followed you as you can clearly tell in the video.

  5. after a server time out all our vehicles and tents and stuff is gone now.... that really pisses me off now.... 4 of us were crusing on a boat when the timeout appeared... and lost all their stuff in water... i think there should be sth like when you log off on water you spawn at coast or sth like that because otherwise its fucking annoying

As a bandit player I would advise you to spread out your camps and vehicles over the map. When it comes to the camps, you should probably spread them over multiple servers aswell in the event of your "home" server going down, to minimize the risk. A single camp is too vulnerable to gamey elements such as server hoppers (someone could for instance serverhop there and throw a grenade to ruin your progress). You should however have a few camps set up where the guards can re-arm with mostly common weapons such as Enfields, Winchesters, shotguns and pistols, incase they die and have to get into the fight quickly. Additionally I would like to suggest trading being handled at least partly outside of the game. That way you could send escorts — with basic gear to minimize the risk of losing valuable group assets — to meet up with the players that wish to trade, and bring them to a secret location where there's several guards to make sure that there's no foul play. That way players would actually dare to trade, provided that you end up getting a good reputation, since they would not have to run into a bandit hotspot.
  7. To further provide evidence against these guys, a team of 5 of our guys were located south of our camp, heading north to intercept where we believe they were. We were constantly on the watch for them, when all of a sudden they appeared right behind us on top of a mountain. There is absolutely no way they could have known where we were at that time, as our chat was only between the five of us in that squad. They appeared of thin air and immediately began firing upon us. The only thing that could possibly explain this is a teleport hack, especially seeing as they were constantly teleporting to the vehicles we were driving, which ended up with the drivers of two of the vehicles dead.
  8. I made this server the main one I played on recently and built up quite a lot of gear as well as a UAZ for myself but now it seems the admin has reset the vehicles and keeps kicking people that join who are not in his clan. happened multiple times today. Just those same 9 guys playing in the server, probably gathering all the vehicles up and kicking anyone else who joins. My friend was also kicked when trying to join.

Hi, The same thing happen on DE #34 same players (early in the day with the [AMG]) and kick every player who try to join the server... [ecp] Krot is admin as a can see Also we lost all of our vehicles but maybe it's the server reboot bug...(i hope)

    Eliminate M107 and AS50

Oh yes, I totally cheated when I picked up my M107 at Stary Sober... Just because somebody has a rare weapon or rare equipment doesn't mean they cheated. I do hope they fix the item duplicating though. They've already been working on the ammo duplication within the inventory, hopefully next thing will be item duplication from tents and vehicles. All they really need to do is make the tent or vehicle save any time you look into it and/or add/remove items from it. Problem solved.

    Cheaters in DE #40

We had arund 6 vehicles and a 2 choppers at one point!! Although, I am sure all the choppers apart from a very few older servers have them disabled!! Maybethe admin of DE40 could have a wee look at the log files for you!

    Pobeda Dam vehicle flip

The gray dams are not terrain in Arma2 they are made of multi-objects and are thus extremely unfriendly to vehicles. They always have been and always will be so get used to just avoiding them because the ABSOLUTE best rocket could pull off without rebuilding them and thus making a different version of the map is making an unflip vehicle option. If someone else doesn't I am going to make an Arma2 quirks thread so that people stop reporting Arma2 problems as DayZ bugs. Edit: also ATVs are simple to un-flip on normal terrain. Simply angle your tires so the fronts stay in the air and then reverse until it comes back up. If you are on a hill make sure that you start reversing after you rotate the vehicle so your avatar is facing up hill or except it to take longer as it won't start to un-flip while the wheels are uphill. Also try not to get off as when an ATV is fully on its side it is almost impossible to enter. Also note that the position of being on its side doesn't seem to be always saved or register for people who weren't on it when it flipped so a fix can be as simple as reconnecting or bringing someone who doesn't see it as on its side to right it.

    Incentives to Cooperative Play

Okay? So, I'm not sure what you're saying here other than you have some really suspect friends? Do you expect/hope that the game will change in such a way that people like this can play it and be successful? I guess I can't figure out what you're driving at. Your friends suck at DayZ. Okay. Either find different people to play with, or find a different game to play with those friends. Otherwise I guess you're suggesting rocket dumb down the design of the game until your pack of ne'er-do-well, mouth-breathing idiot friends can thrive and populate the world? That's one of the people I play with. I have had two (2) survivors in that same amount of time - one alive for 19 days and my current survivor on day 12. We have seen all that and more. We have repaired ~4 vehicles and stolen 3-4 others, some fully loaded with fuel, gear and equipment. We have traversed the map multiple times, sometimes traveling in groups as large as 6 but often just as a pair. We have had incredibly tense standoffs and extremely tense situations. Last time we stopped for gas, in fact, I was jumped from behind by a player I didn't see in the field behind me. I was at 3400 blood and unconscious bleeding to death. My partner came in guns blazing, killed my assailant, stopped my bleeding at 2400 blood, gave me a transfusion and then succeeded in defending me for the remaining ~90 seconds of unconsciousness I had to wait through becasue we didn't have an epi-pen. We killed one additional bandit and got away with fuel and our fully loaded UAZ. It was one of the single most intensely emotional experiences I have ever had in a video game in my entire life, and I have been gaming pretty much every day since Commodore 64 was all the rage. The game is what you make it, man. You hang out with idiots and you're disappointed that you have an idiotic experience in the game? What do you expect? Surround yourself with people who want to play the game the way you do. This has always been necessary since the days when all we could do was get together to play board games - they're more fun when you're playing with people you know and trust and if you don't have those kinds of relationships with anyone who plays and this game encourages you to go out there and MAKE those friendships and connections well then rocket will have achieved something amazing don't you think? See, now. You're wrong again. Why do you assume that your own personal subjective emotional reactions to the things that happen in the game are universal? Don't you think that's arrogant? Don't you think it might be a bit of an enormous consensus bias on your part? I have had emotional reactions to killings in the game. Times when I have been surprised to turn around and see a survivor nearby where I wasn't expecting one and in my panic firing and second-guessing the decision afterward. Regretting that I didn't hesitate even a little in the moment of panic. Thinking about his journey back to where we are and how much time I might have cost them. Maybe you don't consider those things and reflect upon them. I do. Again, we see a running theme. The game is what YOU make it. It's not going to be gift-wrapped and hand packaged for you with a bunch of icons and blinking arrows and sound effects and achievements and I know you're not asking for these things nor would you want them but just for dramatic effect you have to consider that DayZ is setting itself apart in so many ways like this. No in-game communication - almost unprecedented in an online game. Permanent death - how many games this popular can pull that off? Unrestricted PvP in what feels like an almost MMO environment? Even the MMOs who tried to do that couldn't really pull it off the way rocket has with this simple mod that's only in Alpha. But if you approach it like every other game and just ho-hum your way through and expect it to jump out at the screen and shit zombie awesome sauce all over your face then I don't think it's going to happen. YOU have to involve yourself more deeply in the game. Again, if that means finding a new group of people to hang out with - give it a try. It sounds like your friends are dickheads anyway. I think realistic human emotions are the most important part of this mod. The mechanics themselves need not be realistic, but as near as I can tell the point of the mod is to put you into extreme situations that compel you to think, act, and behave in ways that might not necessarily be fully within your normal zone of comfort and expectation. You want to communicate? Figure it out. You want safe zones? Figure out how to make them. You want punishments for rampant PvP? Go guerilla on the bandits - set traps, steal vehicles, and take them out before they take you out. Die too often in Cherno/Elektro? Stop going there. Nights too dark? No, don't just turn your gamma up. Not allowed anymore. Figure it out. This is complete hogwash. I am "most people." I have a job, a family, other hobbies. I don't play DayZ 14 hours a day and I'm not in a clan or a posse. I play with 2-3 other friends occasionally. But we all play to survive. We travel together, move carefully, coordinate our efforts, utilize tents and vehicles to our advantage, etc. We plan ahead nights when we play so that we're never doing anything dangerous alone. We cover each other and never leave people behind. And combined in our group we have had 2 deaths in the last 31 days of the game. You don't need a large group to be an imposing force. 2 or 3 people is sufficient - if you play intelligently. Don't stand on top of each other everywhere you go - so you are all basically one target. Spread out. Take turns raiding buildings while others stay outside. When you're traveling through the wilderness - fan out at least 200m apart so you can scan more area and aren't all vulnerable to a single grenade or one clip of assault rifle ammo. If one person is raiding a grocery store, leave the other out back to watch for approaching players. I'm not going to make the whole list again. It's right up there at the top of the thread. Nearly all of the goals I listed can be accomplished by two people working together. And they don't need to be some kind of wizened ARMA experts either. Cooperation will always be nonexistent if you don't take responsibility for it yourself.

    Dallas 41..

My party used to play on dallas 41 for awhile till we found out that the admins party have a huge advantage on the server. They all join when the server gets reset and raid areas like nw airfield real quick. My team has probably gotten into 3 engagements with them and i feel like they log 1 guy out before the engagement and log back in after and play cleanup. yah and they have like all the vehicles.

Less weapon spawn + no starter weapon = GG

Okay, from what I've read from your aforementioned posts, you're personally an arrogant/pretentious twat. So, systematically, let's form a rebuttal! 1. - "How the fuck zombies break you LEGS ? In one hit ? Very realistic." Okay, this is one of the few points I'd agree with. If someone was attacking me/mostly clawing me, I wouldn't suffer broken legs, esp. after one hit. So, point to you for that. It's annoying, it might be tweaked later, however, complaining about how unrealistic it is, for a game, isn't going to help shit. 2. - "- I cant enter every building? Very realistic." Okay, go code, texture, design and implement your own game and house model, you little fuck? It's a long and arduous task that can be done, when the developer has the time. If you don't like that the game has limitations, then don't play it, or at least, stop complaining about it. You could realistically rationale that some of the houses are locked/barricaded, and are therefore, not accessible. 3. - I can die and respawn? WHAT ? Very realistic. It's a game. If perma-death was active per server, I'd have a game where I geographically get 20 lives. 4. - I cant have my main weapon on my back while using melee weapons ? Very realistic. Okay, this might be true, but guns and hatchets are rather heavy. A counter balance could be that your aim or swing speed is impaired, either way. It's not great, but give Rocket a break. He implemented the melee weapons just about a week ago. 5. - I am bleeding from one hit from the zombie to death ? Very realistic. If I clawed you, good chance you'd start bleeding. And if I happened to severe your radial, or cartoid artery, you'd bleed out in the space of one minute. So, it's not realistic, but if it was, a lot of people would be dead. Fast. 6. - There are no useable cars in the apocalypse ? Very realistic. There are cars/boats/helicopters (really one one helicopter actually). However, there is no back story to the game. If the zombie apoc. was caused by nuclear warfare, then the resulting electro-magnetic pulse from the detention from said nuclear weapons, would wipe out almost every single vehicle, and other electronic source. Not realistic, but it's something. 7. - There are no weapons in the whole cherno ? Very realistic. There are weapons. Look for them. The advice I give to anyone looking for weapons in Cherno or Elektro, is -search the fire station(s)-. General military loot almost always spawns there (assuming it hasn't been looted already, which, is a realistic situation, btw (not the military grade loot in fire stations, the looting)) There are guns in the church, hotels, occasionally the office bulildings, city hall, supermarket. You just have to be patient and loot carefully. 8. - Zombies dont have any loot apart from b beans or coke? Very realistic. You're right. Zombies shouldn't have any loot. Think about it. Say you become a zombie. What do you have on you? A wallet, phone, watch, the clothes on your back, et cetera? So maybe the rate the watch occurs could increase (despite the already, grossly high rate of spawning). What good is a wallet in the zombie apoc. there is no need for currency, et cetera, nor is your phone (esp. if you conform with my reasoning for limited vehicles.) 9. - I can run for hours w/o being tired? Very realistic. True. That could be tuned down a little, but still, in the space of 255km^2, it'd be a bit more than annoying to have to take a break every so often, but I'd be cool if that changed, it just mean that I'd have to vary gameplay. 10. - Zombies dont die frmo hunger? Very realistic. From*. Also. THEY'RE FUCKING ZOMBIES?! What more do you expect? Okay, they can eat each other, they can eat you, you won't die (in real life) of malnutrition for about a week or so. Zombies only have basic functions. And. It's a game. 11. - People shooting everyone on sight? Very realistic. People shoot each other NOW, due to petty reasons. Religion, resources, personal issues. And you're trying to tell me, a game, that is trying to represent a situation, in which the people are being in a high stress, post apocalyptic, war zone with limited supplies, and no chance of escape off the small island, situation, and people are going to skip around offering each other tea. Okay, there might be a little more mob mentality, that's it. Humans a selfish creatures, who's goal is to get the greatest rewards for the least amount of effort. Shooting people is easy, and taking their stuff is the reward. That's realistic. Live with it. There is nothing inherently wrong with the DayZ community. It's people like you who want the game to be easier, that are ruining the community. Face it. It's a game, trying to be realistic. Realistically, not every single person on the island is going to have a gun. A gun will save your life and take another. They should be limited, it takes the game from being Call of Duty: Makarov PM Edition, to the survival horror genre. At first, I found the "no gun on spawn" thing bothersome, but, as long as you play smart, go to one of the major towns, get a gun, and some basic provisions and then run the fuck away from the major towns (only going back, when absolutely necessary), you'll start having fun. There is no stigma of "hardcore players". I play the game for fun. I just recently teamed up with my friend, and we started working on our "base of operations" with our first camping tent. We've both collectively died, many times, but it's a series of working out what works, and how to approach something. And we're not even hardcore players. TL;DR: I think you're being a pretentious twat (insert rebuttal). You need to play smarter, be patient, and try and team up.

Actually you don't have to. Ever since they reintroduced ground vehicles its location is auto saved and you can hit save to make yourself feel better, but not once has it mattered in my experience.

    Hacks in Action

I have been watching this streamer for a week and he is legit. I'm pretty sure you can't be banned for hacks just because a hacker is following you around, he hasn't used any of the loot or vehicles to his advantage or against other players. But I guess some people just have to cry about something.

Dalls 22 7th operation Admin Abuse!

Wait.... I was there when this happened. Matadors description was 100% on point. The helo stopped directly over the tents and then 4 players magically appeared right under neath it. Either you guys are hacking or your server hopping after someone else hacks for you. Also there has been a rash of people using locator scripts to find vehicles and tents. So your claim that you just accidently found that location with a chopper mysteriously overhead is a bit of a far stretch IMO.

    Barbed wire shouldnt require toolkit

this dos need some attention. I have recently been looking for a new server to call home and the amount of buildings secured off with wire is just silly, The problem is perhaps compounded by the lack of toolbox spawns at the moment as they are few and far between in my experience. make the toolbox a more commons spawn ? perhaps make a tool box required to fix up vehicles, it has logic to it. make placing wire require toolboxes ?
  22. Have this problem too dude, fixed everything else up, hull refuses to go green no matter what parts I repair with scrap metal. http://i.imgur.com/fb2a7.jpg On a side note, any repairs I do seem to 'roll back' whenever the server is restarted, even if I've used the 'Save' option. Other vehicles, however, like cars and stuff repair fine =)

    Persisting Vehicles

Ugh, vehicles are fucking pointless. I happened on a freshly spawned Ural and hid that even more out of the way and now it's gone as well. I was hiding these vehicles around the left edge of the map in the forests and apparently someone found it. I guess I've learned my lesson and next time I'll drive for a minimum of 5 minutes off the map. It seems like this is the only way to really keep a vehicle since anywhere else someone is apparently going to just happen by it, but I really doubt that's what rocket intended players to do. Not wasting my time ever again finding the elusive engine parts just to never see the vehicle again...

    Change to how tents work.

I don't understand it. Each player has a 'tent' inventory and its saved according to that Player ID? No. Tents, when deployed, are effectively vehicles in so far as the coding is concerned. Tents should remain tied to a Server. Tents have many issues and I feel that they will be addressed in the coming releases.

    Dallas 41..

dear dayz devs all we ask for is a chance to prove that the admins of Dallas 41 abused their powers and proceed to shut their server down when their camp was discovered which contained 5 tents and i would say maybe 60% of all the vehicles in the server and more weapons and gear that i can count and quickly raided it. we have plenty of witnesses to this crime and some evidence that proves that these admins abused their powers to prevent their equipment from being stolen. they now are saying to cover up their crimes that the reason that their server shut down was because they are now moving to a new box. i say lies. why were there no warnings that the server was going to be shut down, previously it would be mentioned in chat. i also point out the that coincidence is far to great that a supposed scheduled server shutdown to happened 3mins after their camp was raided of all their belongings. i point my finger at these admins and say SHAME. if the dev gods LoL decide to rule in our favor all we want is a chance to collect the equipment we fairly stole from them. this video clearly shows the other group who raided the admin camp and make their getaway with the admins vehicles and gear till they were kicked all of a sudden for high ping even though their ping was well below 50 and the server preceded to shut itself down.
