Recently, I was in the possession of NINE vehicles. It's dwindled down to 3 again, though. Some people stole their cars back :3 Might be able to get it back up a little by returning to the old camp some day, maybe a few vehicles are left!

And now for my horrible horrible story..... Goddamn this is embarrassing, but it goes to show, Vehicles can be bad. So, it all started this morning. I went out on mine and my cousin's "good" atv. Figured I haven't ever seen a boat, may as well go look for one. Near the wrecked ship, south towards Berez there was a boat!!!! Ok, I'ma hop off and hide my atv, put my stuff in it in case I have to swim at all. This is where I made my first mistake lol. Overfilled the ATV and lost my flipping Night Vision Goggles..... Such a dumb mistake. But, I got a boat now. Gonna go hide it so me and my cousin can come back and figure out what to do with it. I got around the corner of the sunken ship and found the second boat there!!! Figured good enough, I drove right by here and didn't see this, plus even if someone takes one, there's another. Back to my atv, heading into Berez. We need to fix up the other atv so we can roll out together in style. (Also seeing 2 atv's may trick people into thinking that there is four of us and not two) So I head to the warehouses next to the harbor. Did you know that the Harbor is also glitched for the atv's? Lmao me neither. Up in the air I went. To quote Joel from Rooster Teeth Podcast, it was "THE SKY! THE GROUND! THE SKY! THE GROUND! THE SKY! THE GROUND!" WHAM! On my side, broken legs, bleeding, shock, and needing pain killers. Thank god I have all that. After emptying my atv I head back to the boats with some gas tanks I scavenged. Head down south to our base (yes, we don't hide our stuff in the north/west off the map) Just as I make it back to camp my cousin wakes up, hops on and I tell him how much of a dumbass I am, As I put it "I got Good news, Bad news, Good news, and Bad news.." "Oh?" "Found a boat, lost the nvg's, found a second boat, lost the atv" hahahaha So we decide to go collect the last boat. Take the atv out, and guess what? I forgot about the trench by that ship. "THE SKY! THE GROUND! THE SKY! THE GROUND! THE SKY! THE GROUND!" Wham and FIIIIIIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My cousin's unconscious. I'm bleeding from the top of my head (Love the blood spray Rocket!) heal myself, pull him from the wreckage, he has an epi on him so I make him all 100% We lick our wounds, lamenting the loss of our last atv, and head to the boat. Now I was under the impression that A- the boat was full of gas, and B- I had spare tanks on me anyway.... Nope..... We got stranded out at sea.... Had to make the swim.... I told him about the horrible horrible glitch and how we had a 1 in 100 shot of making it to shore with our gear..... we both lost our gear at the exact same spot too deep to get..... Rangefinders, His NVG, his sniper rifle (heli loot) my 24 slot backpack, everything in our backpacks we had worked towards.... All because of my goddamn assumption.... At this point my cousin got a liiiiiiitle bit angry. Realized he still had his sidearm and killed me. And All I could say was "I deserve that. I'm gonna go sit in my closet so I don't break anything else" TL;DR: Lost all vehicles and loot in a bad string of unfortunate events all before the first pot of coffee was even finished in the morning.

Same here, well, I found 2 atv's about 20 min before bed, and then after playing on my server for 20 min I found 2 boats. Allright, cannibalism. It should be possible to gut freshly dead survivors. With increasing heartbeat when detected (lower humanity) in order to stack up with food in desperate situations. It would add a real creepy yet somewhat intense feeling to surviving in the dayz world. Extentions to chernarus. ok lets say that making a whole new map is to much work, but what about some community based extentions to the chernarus map, maybe some more woods the north with some bigger towns, military bases, airfields and other types of vehicles. Perhaps like a river that man can cross in to a big city to the north. idunno just some silly ideas. whatdouthink?

I found 4 vehicles in 1 day purely by chance. Bicycle in the middle of a dirt road, someone's motorcycle on a hill by a tree, someone's empty fuel tank atv on a dirt road, then someone's van in a forest. I also found someone's off roader on a hill close to stary sobor, another atv out of gas in a bush off a road, then a bus by berezino. Just walk around in weird places and you will find vehicles.

Nope DE13 is most of the time locked duo to the fact that i raped their camp in the forest once. it was a big camp with around 6 tents 4 vehicles and alot of stuff in the tents. so we took what we need and ruined the camp. after that the server was out of the list for a few hours the next time i took a look at the serverlist there was no DE13 anymore. just a DE1337 what was never there before it was locked aswell ofc. after some time DE13 was there again, locked.on my mission to find anything useful about ny7(cause we got adminraped there) i found a thread that they have a new camp on DE13 on the island on the coast. so i guess they locked the server again to farm stuff and build a new camp on that island. just fyi we ruined the camp cause they locked the server before that aswell. i guess this wall of text explains alot about the DE13 locking.

I really hope this is true. I searched for vehicles for 4 hours the other day. I covered some major ground. Nothing. I am convinced that they are being stored off the map. They also need to sort the fact that their location is trackable through server files. I'm am absolutely positive I got burned by server admins cheating and getting the location.

But when they become admins, they get shit on by the community....pretty soon you're not going to have anyone willing to pay to keep this mod online. The door swings both ways DayZ community/devs. Keep that in mind. The problem with what you're suggesting is that tents and vehicles are tied to the server, so it'd be unfair to give admins full control over their servers. That data is DayZ's data, not your own server's data. I've seen what happens when you give hotheaded clan admins their own DayZ server. I'll give you a hint: we usually end up banned for breaking a rule made up on the spot because we killed the admins or stole their choppers. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem. Just find a different server, right? Oh, but what about your stash of food, water, guns, ammo, and vehicles stashed on the server? Oh, gone, too bad! Sucks for you! QQ more, right? Here's the problem with banning people for DCing: You've taken it upon yourself to police your servers for potential DCers. Just how do you go about that? Do you only ban people who DC while shooting you or your clan buddies? Do you let any old player say "omg he disconnected twice in an hour! must be DCing!!!!!11" Do you ban anyone who connects to your servers more than three times in an hour, with zero proof of DCing to avoid PvP? Do players on your servers need to be terrified to disconnect in fear of being branded a DCer? I'm not going to sit here and argue. DCing is an exploit. It has been said many many times. I know when someone DC's on me...because I shoot at them and they disappear. And they are banned accordingly. I don't need proof, I don't need to make the community happy. Those of you that don't admin servers don't quite get how frustrating it is to try and run a clean server with one hand tied behind your back. But, as Vipeax once said...your server isn't blacklisted...why do you care what the playerbase thinks? *Shrug* And I don't.

They all have vehicles. As far as I know, you can't remove them from the server. They are just hard to find because players hoard them in the debug plains.

Drop the FN FAL, easily. The DMR is a great sniper rifle for hitting moving targets/vehicles. It's also shit-easy to find ammo for. The FAL, on the other hand, has rare ammunition that is only found on crash sites. You have the LMG for close/mid-range encounters and the DMR for mid-long range encounters.

Why are people even able to save camps and vehicles outside the boundaries of the map? Surely the boundary could be adjusted so that the server won't save camps outside the map.

Are you looking for any vehicle in particular? If so, you can go about finding it in two ways: 1. Find where it is likely to spawn, and monitor it actively. With so many players on the server, it's more than likely to be destroyed upon capture than change hands. 2. Hunt for base camps. Scour the map from NW to NE, clearing down. You're bound to find camps and vehicles. I can tell you for a fact, vehicles are a PAIN IN THE ARSE. Once everyone in your crew knows you have one, they'll be whinging for a pickup from the coast. Idiots.

Vehicles respawn if they're not used for 7 days. But yes, people storing them on the edges of the map is a problem.

You don't play enough so you don't know. It's not hard to search with friends in wilderness. And it's very easy if you got quad/motorcycle/bicycle (i prefer the last one). We search only on full server cuz there more chances when you can heard fire shots or vehicles engines.

I am looking for an organized professional group for the following: Raids on cities and towns, Bandit hunting, surplus raids and random fun. I do not like to grief players and, if given a choice, I would team up and assist players. I do understand that sometimes Kill-On-Site is needed. The better the gear = less trust. I normally play on AZ3 during the evenings Arizona time. Experience: 15 years MMO raiding, Real life- 10 years military experience, land navigation experience. Looking for group with trustworthy solid members with access to ground and air assets. I have gear to match my experience. I utilize current map information to find best gear and vehicles. I also have vent, steam and skype communication. I prefer to interview online voice before meeting in game. Hello. I'm one of the administrators on Seattle 71. Thanks for reporting this camp to us. All of the tents at the reported camp location, and all of the gear in the tents, have been destroyed. We've also deleted all of the gear stored inside the vehicles at said camp, and the vehicles have been moved and destroyed. At around the same time as this incident occurred, we suspect someone ran an auto-kill script on the server. Several players reported all dying at the exact same time at various places across the map. We brought down the server while we investigated this matter. Some admins suspected that you were the one who ran this script, and you were hastily banned in the process. The ban has been reverted and we invite you to continue playing on Seattle 71. We take reports like this very seriously. If you have any concerns about our server in the future please feel free to PM me, or any Seattle 71 admins on the forums.

There's a guy hacking and his friend is tagging a long with him and using the hacked in vehicles etc.. The guy is playing on a stream too.. I don't know the players name but he was with the hacker Big and the stream link is : http://www.twitch.tv/EatMyDiction1 IMPORTANT : The guy says he wont get banned because he didn't hack them in and is only using what others hacked in for him and because he can talk to the developer he'll be fine.. That's kind of unfair treatment if that's true, Anyone else who uses vehicles hacked in by other people get a ban for using them without question. Special treatment isn't fair. Update: Still with the hackers and now gassy mexican is taking their items and weapons for own use. please check into this! Today I was driving around in one of my vehicles (pickup) and I came across a guy without any guns, so I decided to pick him up. He wanted to go to a pharmacy since he was infected and kept passing out so I drove to one. In the pharmacy he passed out and I waited for him to wake up, when he woke up I was busy killing zombies and he ran to my pickup and drove away with it. I popped all the tires so I could run after him, after a while he crashed into a fence and exploded. This is the last time I will be friendly towards anyone that I am not talking to in a VOIP program or something similar. So I'd say, go for the kill. That's what I am going to do everytime from now on. If the odds are against you avoid them or just pretend that you are friendly if it's a situation that you can't avoid and run away or kill the person when he has lowered his guard.

A guy in our squad found an attack chopper at NW AF, at the far NW part of the runway. He flew it down to Kamenka for me to fly so he could gun. The radar was very confusing, it pinged things in different colors, he had rockets and 800 rounds of something and could lock onto things. I crashed it within 10 minutes, I did not play ARMA vanilla, and that was like flying a dumptruck around with a mouse. Very odd handling, I guess it is "realistic". So we took a hand landing in a dip while attempting to turn, gunner died instantly, I lived, the chopper exploded but placed me outside of it unconscious and bleeding, but with a whopping 9000 blood. Then the town (Zelenogorsk) proceeded to have a very strange "mass on fire" flickering bugged out animation... flames would appear over the whole town, but as you walked through them they would disappear in front of you, almost like rain when you enter a hangar or something. Multiple restarts did not make this go away, for either of us. This was on UK/US XX (purposely hidden server name) last night, shortly after this I was shot in the back at the center deerstand at foot of the northern facing side of Green Hill. Green hill also had very dark smoke coming from the south side of the slope, closest to Zeleno. A russian gentleman typed 3 times in bold cyrillic red text, which I did not know was possible. We disconnected fearing being nuked or something. My question is this: So, are choppers back in? Attack choppers only or? I see multple posts here with people saying only "old servers" have choppers. This is 1.7.1.5 with latest ARMA patch, or second latest I believe. We have found NO vehicles, only (players) bicycles and a van at Solnichy in 1.7. This was both surprising, and saddening (I crashed it quick), we desperately wanted to find other vehicles with the radar but couldn't figure out how to fly the fucking thing, should of loaded singleplayer and landed it out of bounds. Fuck my life. So will this chopper respawn in 7 days? Anyway, the flaming Zelenogorsk thing was very very strange, and would not go away. It was literally, all of Zeleno, no damage when you walked through any of it (after the crash) just some odd bugged out graphics of our fiery skidding crash I guess?

Supposedly there is still this issue: https://dev-heaven.net/issues/32339 This issue existed with cars earlier, as well. It has been fixed months back (atleast with cars) and I have not to this day seen a single evidence / repro of this bug with helicopters. As far as I'm concerned, there is no desyncing problem with them, atleast not on a proper server. But yeah, latest news is that the devs at BE (ArmA devs) are taking a look at this issue and after it is fixed helis will be rolled on to all server, so Soon™, as Ander would say. If the devs go ahead and remove the ability to fly vehicles out of boundaries I will cry. Hiding helicopters inside the game boundaries is impossible. There needs to be an alternative answer to stashing the helicopters. Usually people get them after hard work, if they have to be hid inside the real map it will most definately get stolen in a matter of dayz. Besides, if it were realistic.. I could just fly the chopper much much further instead of leaving it in the area where zombies area. So in this case it could be flown outside of Chernarus with ease.

Who said I was asking the devs to do anything? I'm only pointing out that the current system isn't optimal, as evidenced by the huge amounts of abuse that goes on with server restarts for the purpose of hoarding/protecting piles of vehicles. Quit being a douchebag.

So after not playing for two weeks I updated my DayZ and Beta files via Six Updater, and launched by game. I was immediately met with two errors (apparantly graphical) but I thought nothing of it. I went to join the game and half of the building were silver and shiny, so were the vehicles! So I tried validating game files via steam and now it's /missing/ entire buildings, just not there. I am hoping someone can help me fix the broken files or fix the game, no idea what happened but it just stopped working.
