    US Navy {SEALs}

US NAVY SEALS We're currently in the process of changing servers, stay tuned. In response to the growing infection in eastern Europe, US JSOC dispatched select elite special operations groups to gather intelligence and escort scientists attached to the operation. Part of the joint task force was us: SEAL Team 6. The operation went bad before it even began. While investigating a small town on the coast of Chernarus, one of the doctors under our command came down with a flu-like illness. Hours later, he violently attacked several SEAL Team members, and inflicted serious injuries before he was finally subdued. With part of our team incapacitated, we called for a medevac, which never came. When time ran out, those team members turned. The entire group was thrown into confusion. We were finally able to make contact with command, who informed us of a secondary extraction point. After arriving, we secured the area, but upon arrival our helicopter was shot down by a Russian SAM. After that we lost all radio and satellite contact and decided to go underground. Over the weeks, we lost a few good men to the infection and Russian snipers. Eventually, with the threat of starvation looming overhead, we decided to strike back. 3 weeks later... After a long war with the remnants of the Russian Spetsnaz, we are happy to declare the infection zone clear of organized military hostiles. Pockets of resistance have crept up here and there but we now have the upper hand. As such, we have created a survivor evacuation zone in Chernogorsk. Any unarmed survivors in need of medical support or evacuation to the north will have to make it to the Cherno dock platform for chopper evac. We have declared Cherno a survivor safe-zone, so any act of aggression against the SEALs or unarmed survivors will be met with the use of deadly force. ----- The 'real' story... For weeks now we have been playing on EU-BIGBO, due to the presence of helicopters. Unfortunately, so were a large group of Russian hackers. They hoarded all of the vehicles and were able to simply spawn in massive amounts of great gear and weapons. So with nothing else to do, we set up a secret base under the premise of 'US Special Forces cut off from support and left to survive in the wasteland'. And we fought a guerrilla war against the Russian hackers, thus nicknamed the 'Red Army'. It was difficult at first. They could show up at any time, in groups ranging anything from 2-12. Often heavily armed and in helicopters or military trucks. The first week, we were able to eliminate several squads by using stealth tactics and only common weapons. We geared ourselves off their bodies and then used that gear to fight larger groups, eventually destroying several of their ground vehicles, and at least one helicopter. The fighting was tough, they had a plethora of weapons, from thermal scopes to light machineguns, to rocket launchers and C4. The tipping point was this past week, where we were finally able to steal a working helicopter and a ton of supplies inside it. The next day, some admins finally got on and banned them all for hacking. At least 10 of them are gone forever. So the SEALs were declared the winners, and we in turn decided to help out the server pop for a change. We still run our own private ops, but during certain times we will be policing the coastal highway and evacing survivors out of Cherno. OUR MISSION: Foster cooperation, trust, and support among survivors while simultaneously protecting them from the worst of the zone's dangers. OUR TEAM: The SEALs roster as it currently stands: Demolitions/SEAL Team Commander: Charlie Sheen Sniper: Nameless Sniper: Adam Crew Chief/Support Gunner: X CQC Expert: J All other SEAL team members are currently classified. This is to protect their identities while on operations. All SEAL team members can be identified if wearing the {SEALs} tag. ----- We are currently about to open recruitment. If you wish to put your name in or learn more about our rigorous recruitment process post here or PM. If you see our {SEALs} tag, say hello! Contact SEAL Team Commander Charlie Sheen if you have any questions or problems.
  2. this and also remove the "farming" factor from this game. its ruining it. wipe EVERYTHING clean and fix/randomize loot locations so that ppl do not farm places like the NW airfields and hoard them in there tents/vehicles. its beyond stupid. or better yet, get rid of the item storage entirely. this way ppl really will have fear of losing there gear even if there in clans. the point of the game is to survive and when u die u die. not "lol i died, time to go back to my atv in the forest and regear myself instantly. better go farm NW airfield first tho to restock my ATV just incase i die again"

    To all server admins

    New faith in survivors

I don't really have one server, i usualy search a new server everytime i get into the game with the six launcher^^ But as soon as i'll get some vehicles and a tent i'll choose one server ;)
  5. Lost 2 vehicles and a tent, fully stocked with m107, m4, omg, so many guns, and so much ammo. blah, second time this has happend to my clan. boo. but i understand this is a tough logistical problem and we are still in alpha yes? plz fix, there really is only so much we can take before we say screw it, nothing we do matters in this game.
  6. It can't shoot through concrete walls, but you can hit through deerstands and the side of vehicles occasionally. Also, if you see someone glitch parts of his body through a wall you can take him out too in one shot.

    Huey Spawn Question

sooooooooo i just found a huey behind the supermarket in pusto. its almost fully gassed and has ammo in the guns. the hull and rotor are red as hell. we had hackers on our server last night who were nuking the coast with fighter jets and attack helis. our admin restarted the server and all those vehicles despawned... can this thing be legit??? the other day they said vehicles parked off the map were going to be cleaned up and spawn back in the map, maybe this is a real spawn? can anyone tell me? im currently camping this heli while my friends look for a rotor lol.

    Back-story: Sliders

DayZ is a "sharded" MMO - each server has a low player count, and is independent from others. This causes "unnatural" things, like: * you and a friend being in the same town but not actually being able to see each other ("oops, I joined the wrong server"). * server-bound items -- tents, fences, vehicles. * server hoppers. * DC'ers. The last 2 are arguably exploits, but I'm not suggesting a fix for them here -- there's plenty of other threads with ideas on how to mitigate exploits! Instead, I've been trying to explain how all these "unnatural" things could make sense within the RP environment of the game, and the most obvious thing that comes to mind is Sliders. If you've not seen it, the gist is: a guy builds a black box that can open worm-holes to other dimensions / parallel universes, but it's got a timer on it so it can't be re-used too quickly. Unfortunately, they can't control which parallel universe they end up in, and a sci-fi TV show ensues as they go on an adventure through different crazy versions of "earth". The abort button, and the server selection screen are our magic black box. It doesn't matter why (maybe you were working away at the LHC when a mini-black-hole got flung out of the particle accelerator right into your desk, spontaneously expanding to swallow your office from the world, before spontaneously evaporating without trace. yes i know that's not possible ;P) -- but one day you wake up on Chernarus beach, and find you've got a high-tech wrist-watch on. When you use the wrist-watch, you fall through a portal to another version of Chernarus. Bam, unnatural behaviours explained. Each "shard"/server it a parallel world. This could be tied into some of the suggested exploit fixes -- e.g. one solution for DC'ers is to keep their body in the game for 1 minute after they've disconnected, so they can't simply abort in a firefight unfairly. During this time, they could be playing an "activate the portal" animation (playing with their watch), and when it completes, a worm-hole appears and swallows them up.
  9. Me and my friends are veterans at the dayz mod and have acquired almost everything could possible want in terms of equipment and weapons. Soon we're going to try to find and repair a vehicle (preferably a helicopter). What experiences have you guys had with helicopters and other vehicles? Are they extremely difficult to get running and under control? Please share some of your experiences.
  10. Above poster clearly does not understand the amazing benefits that come with owning a chopper, nor the mechanics behind server crashes, nor the fact that server desync due to vehicles has been almost eliminated.
  11. Nuke (DayZ)

    Today I F-ed up big.

well vehicles will auto fix on server restarts.. but yeah nothing can put the pieces of your friends back together

    Welding Torches

Hey guys, I already red about the idea of a welding torch for constructing and breaking down metal walls, but I have something different in mind here: I think we all know how scarce vehicles are or can be on some (or most) servers, for example when a specific group hoards all of those. I'm imagining a Welding Torch e.g as relatively rare industrial loot, which can be used to repair vehicle-wrecks found in the streets (of course only those of vehicles-types you would be able to drive in the first place, if they spawned). For balancing reasons this would need more resources, scrap metal and such, more time to "salvage" than it'd need to repair a spawned vehicle, thus making players more vulnerable and raising the necessity of organized groups/guards.
  13. Cleaning up the damage? and vehicles? Like what? SHouldnt you just restart and accept the losses?
  14. Why not, during a server restart, cross-reference all permanent items on the map, against the map grid. If an item, like say, a vehicle, tent, or barbed wire, is found to be outside of the map parameters, then it is deleted. No more dragging vehicles off the map. No more tent cities 5K out from the map borders. Not to mention the people who DO drag their vehicles 5 minutes off the map will find themselves logging in with no vehicle and a very, very long walk in front of them.
  15. Duo looking to team up with friendly like minded players. We are in our mid-20's and are looking for people around the same age but are willing to forgo this if you're a mature person. We aren't the type to take this serious(it's vidya after all and not real life army men), but we aren't the types to screw off and kill our team mates either. We are looking for a group to head north with eventually(we aren't even very picky about gear(we just died anyways and lost our nice stuff we had been collecting for the past few days, so we are re-gearing and don't mind new players)). Looking to collect a few vehicles if possible and establish a camp somewhere(never done either full out before so open to camp newbs also!(as in setting one up..not killing newbs for beans)) We play CST - US servers, but can do anything really so long as our ping isn't atrocious. Feel free to send a message here via pm, or via skype: Exileosi

Banned from US129 for shooting at admin

http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=29695 We would love to remove the password on our server, but we are cleaning up the damage to our camp and vehicles from the hackers last night and this afternoon.

Tents are useless- The game is too buggy and I've lost countless fortunes due to them either dissapearing or not saving loot correctly. It wasn't stolen from. Also, why would you need a Coyote pack when ALICE packs are 10x more common and hold almost as much? Either way, these two items are rarely even commodities. Crashed helicopter sites are random, and they do make people travel outside of those three places, but generally people just "loot run" it by taking everything, waiting 10 minutes, and revisiting it to get the entire spawn again, so you only really need to find one and camp it. After you do that for maybe 1-2 runs- you end up just going to cherno or electro again to kill players. The OP is right, Cherno, Electro, and the NW airfields are pretty much the most visited places by far. I don't even find myself going north to get weapons anymore- the fire stations in Electro and Cherno drop pretty good loot anyway- And I can rack up ~30-60 murders before dying. an interesting approach deciding an extra four slots allowing the versatility of another primary plus decent storage space isn't worth having. i personally will take it. I've also found a ton of good stuff in tents. sorry about your bad luck on that front. taking the approach that "its not worth it" when it clearly is doesn't really work for me. as for helicopter spawns. i don't give a shit how "random" they are. he was saying there's nothing to do. regardless of your hipster attitude towards it all these are all viable quests. But no one actively pursues deer stands-- Not when a fire station or the NW airfield can almost consistently produce better results. Crashed Helicopters are pretty common' date=' and you pretty much max out your character after one visit-- A bison and 6 mags (2 bizons, actually) and I went down into cherno and had a killing spree. Other than crashed helicopters, there is no reason to go to anywhere but these 3 or 4 places (If you count berezino, which is just another big city with less people.) Also, vehicles and tents are too inconsistent to safely store loot and items- It is better to just make a trip to a common helicopter crash site or the NW airfield than run up to a secluded tent and then back down. Most people don't "just survive"- Its just too easy and boring. [/quote'] if you had any balls, you would have had your killing spree up north where the kitted players are. you're the cause for your lack of excitement. i don't really waste my time hunting people that can't give me better gear. Don't scare him wrath. He's obviously a master of gaming, statistics, philosophy, and telepathy. Who knows how loot will change in the next few months. Let's all just have some fun. Wang Chung. Wish List

Laser Sights Molotov cocktails Pipe bombs Bile bomb / smoke bomb (use them to your advantage in a hoard attack or toss them between you and your attacker/s) Exploding gas cans, oxygen tanks, propane tanks, exploding barrels, cola 6-packs, working coke* machines, bayonets, shields, fire works. Zombies drop ammo (I run out of ammo after a couple hoard attacks, a few more rounds would not hurt) Turn the power on in Chernarus Working barbwire to keep the zombies out The ability to carry two packs (one large and smaller or smallest one inside of it) for a larger capacity to carrying things or hide them in forest like tents for stashing your gear or gear for a friend. or just being able to pick-up there pack and carry it in my pack would be a dream come true. http://img341.images...61305340837.png A day and night time server for people that work long hours Ammo Crates / Ammo boxes (with every type of ammo) Defibrillators / Shock Paddles (will only bring VIC back to life) Claymore Mines Zombie eyes that glow white in the dark (so we can see them first). Make the M1014 & 1866 shotguns fire the same ammo Jet-Skis Attack Dog ATV Quad Bikes The option to flip quad bike back over after a roll over The option to siphon gas from other vehicles, remove tires, engine, windshield glass and other things from other damaged vehicles Camo Faces camouflage smock's (to keep the rain off and help blend into the surroundings) Item: slot count in item description (can't tell how many slots an item will take-up in inventory/backpack). NVG's and GPS for night time battles (way too hard to find, too rare). Add gilly suit and make skins loot-able items so we can loot them from dead bodies Zombie spawn radius seems to be broken, I cant tell if there are bandits and survivors in the town or if I triggered the Z-spawn myself. Whats the zombie spawn radius in meters? I don't know... Change debug area to Insel Skalisty Island (137/124) Different factions so that when we kill each other, we can capture there clothing/custom skin and infiltrate there ranks. So, custom/customizable skins will be the faction you choose (will also slow down some of the useless killing by having different factions to belong to). Change temp values from 42 Celsius to 98.7 Fahrenheit (normal body temp.) rifle butt-stroke and bayonet Malay animation: http://edu.glogster....54/30035412.jpg (if zombies can hit us, we should be able to hit them back). canned goods= 200 blood count, cooked meat= 600 blood count & chicken= 800 blood count, rabbit= 1000 blood count Back-packs on some of the military zombies I want to hear and locate animals by sound at night A working Train that goes up and down the coast. One that can be stopped and boarded by standing @ a train station (train with zombies on it). Working parachute (cant jump out of the helicopter w/o killing myself). new loot item images like: spare ribs beef ribs pork ribs bacon plucked chicken churche's chicken box (three piece chicken dinner) popie's chicken box kentucky fried chicken box lamb chops tenderloin milk pork chops stakes rib tips pork roasted rump :) This list is only going to get bigger. If I get any more bright ideas I'll append them to this list. Anyone else reading this post, please feel free to add your own.

helis are removed due to desync probs atm. vehicles are fun to drive, but can be hard to repair sometimes and ontop of that they increase your paranoia extremely.

  21. Here's a possible solution to reduce DMing on the servers: Maybe Bandit bullets should only work on a player that has better equipment than they do. So no more senseless killings by a fully fed bandit with more food and a better gun than their victim. Also the one they wrongly tried to kill would be able to go after them as they would have the lesser equipment (forcing bandits to think twice about killing for lulz). People would then only bandit in roleplaying appropriate situations. As it is with killing for vehicles make anyone killable within 50 feet of a vehicle or something. Perhaps each item would have a point value. I understand this solution is less realistic than a "real" Romeroesque zombie apoc (where everyone could do what they wanted). It is still more realistic than people playing dm within one. I'm not saying eliminate PvP altogether just the part of it that is unrealistic in a ZA. It IS unrealistic especially in a ZA to kill for no reason. Make a bunch of noise and attract possible zombies for a laugh? highly doubtful.. instead of common.

    SKILL ADVANCEMENT

Though it's been talked about in several threads, I've yet to find an all-encompassing and coherent thread dedicated to a skill system wherein skills improve with practice. Adding skill advancement to the game gives players something they can offer when alive that they cannot offer when dead. This changes the dynamic of player-killing and cooperation, and additionally, it gives players a reason to value their own lives when their best loot is stored elsewhere in their ATV. The abilities of characters will gradually improve as they are used. MEDICAL Medical skill increases whenever a player performs a medical procedure on another player. Medical procedures include; blood transfusions, administering bandages, painkillers, morpheine, epi-pens, anti-biotics, and combat surgery. Players with high medical skill will perform all of these medical procedures faster and with a higher degree of success. This means that blood bags will restore more blood per bad, and bandages will better stem the flow of blood. In addition, players with high medical skill will find more medical loot. SURVIVAL Survival skill increases whenever a player performs a survival ability. Survival abilities include; killing an animal, butchering an animal, cutting wood, lighting a fire, cooking meat, collecting water. Players with a high survival skill will carry out all of these actions more quickly, obtain more meat from butchering animals, have food replenish more of the hunger stat, be able to eventually light fires with less matches and without any at all, and have fires that last longer. MECHANIC Mechanic skill increases whenever a player performs a mechanic ability. Mechanic abilities include; reparing any part of a vehicle, driving a vehicle, refueling a vehicle. Players with high mechanic skill will perform all of these abilities more quickly, require less parts, have greater control when piloting vehicles, be able to salvage parts from other vehicles, and find more vehicle-related loot. FIREARMS Gun skill increases whenever a player performs a gun ability. Gun abilities include; firing a weapon, reloading a weapon, hitting a target. A player with high gun skill will be able to do these things faster, while moving, with a steadier crosshair (including under stress from pain), will be able to switch weapons while moving, have them jam less often and will find more gun-related loot (especially ammo). ATHLETIC Athletic skills increases whenever a player does something athletic. Athletic things include; walking, sprinting, climbing, crawling. Players with high athletic skill will have stamina that depletes more slowly, be able to move faster when moving stealthily and be able to change posture more quickly. EXTRA THOUGHTS Advancement must be carefully managed to deny players the ability to "grind". For example, administering blood transfusions or bandages to players who do not need them should be either impossible or confer no benefit. As much as possible, actions should be limited by the availability of resources to enact them. The system described above would also benefit from a mechanic wherein players can assist the actions of others, like the one detailed here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=23848. If these were implemented in tandem, more skilled characters would contribute more to assisted actions. TL;DR Skills improve with practice
  24. Just a few ideas myself and my friends have been talking about, first of all the ability to collect resources such as tnt, gunpowder, nails, dud arty rounds, tin cans and other assortments of things to make IEDs. Thoughts? The second idea is a sort of military clean up squad, say some soldiers kitted up in CBRN suits (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear), backed up by some sort of transport vehicle such as a UAZ or a Ural, (New way to get vehicles?) plus military grade equipment, but they are dangerous to take on and shoot on sight. thoughts?
