  1. ( I have streams on justin.tv of me losing the dirtbike to them and us getting it back later that night if needed as proof ) So this all happened yesterday and there are 5 of us that play on this server constantly and were all there for this.. So we have a dirtbike and tents set up in the woods we are all near our tents and as i drive off we got raided by the admins of seattle 74 and they kill 2 of us and take the dirtbike and some stuff out of the tents which is part of the game sucks to be us we are not bitching about this.. So later on that night my buddy rolls into a town and sees our dirtbike being ridden by the same 2 admins who raided us earlier and kills them both.. No more then 10 seconds later the server restarts ( which it has never restarted at that time before ).. So now we cant loot them and there bodies are gone when my friend went back to loot them after restart.. So now we all end up getting up there and now are looking for the motorcycle which moved because of restart.. luckily we found it siting perfectly next to a quad in some bushes.. So we take both of them to our new hiding spot save them and log for the night.. We get on this morning and they are still there sitting pretty so we are just hanging around them waiting for friends to log on so we can go roll around and we stop receiving messages from client and the server restarts again.. once the server comes up we go to get on and see that the same 2 admins are logged on as well after restart and now to our surprise the quad and dirtbike are both gone again.. Now we had that dirtbike for almost 2 weeks prior to it getting taken and we have 3 vehicles on 3 diff servers and never once have we had a problem with them disappearing.. The admins azrael and korinthius are the 2 doing this and it takes the fun out of the game for admins to be sore losers and pull crap like this.. Please Take the necessary actions required..
  2. Vehicles do not always respawn on server restarts. Sometimes they just aren't there. If the server admins do not have a vehicle, or if the restarts are automated there is no way to know if the vehicles spawned in after a restart.
  3. I know they didnt delete our tent i was just wondering if they like cleared the server or something and as of the vehicles we were in the map and like i said we were standing right next to them then server restarted and they were gone
  4. All MMO companies distribute their games in one package. The games may come with 2-3 different rulesets (PVP, PVE and RP) and mix of them, but that is it. This game (mod) is going to differ from other games is not the fact that its "realistic" game. No - Arma2 already is realistic game. And you can not get it any more realistic by adding some zombies in the world with constant magically spawning weapons in every household. The real difference is going to be that the game will give everyone to something. And by this I mean that the fact that private servers and server owners can setup their own rulesets for their servers. Some people like 3rd person view - some do not. Some people like chrosshair - some do not. This is where ALL THE OTHER games go in fail category. Evolution requires a lot of competitors. And not only competitors like game 1 vs game 2 (i.e. WoW vs GW2), but also it will require my server rules vs your server rules. As well community made scripting and coding. We saw that the current state has started to drive the social and community evolution not neccesarily to right direction. This is why we created a own DayZ server and added PVP kill messages (beta), disabled server hopping, enabled chats, set vehicles to high, disabled choppers and enabled people to see name when VoiP is activated. It has already started to create a real game community, as one of the problems in DayZ has been that everyone is unknown to everyone. In our server the environment is already evolving into direction where there is actual bad guys and actual friendlies. No concept of "are you friendly?" - no you will learn if he is frienly or not. In future we will even go further in development to let people to LEARN wether certain people are good or bad. We are actually creating a community. And so far the results have been good. Cheers all. ur input is welcome.
  5. They can't delete your tents. This happens sometimes after a server restart. Next time they do a full restart your tents will most likely reappear. As for the vehicles? Who knows....(assuming your hiding spot isn't out in no wilderness area)
  6. update! We ran to our tents and all our tents are gone as well.. So im assuming they did a full restart to respawn vehicles if that's possible..

Banned from US129 for shooting at admin

We did nothing but get the parts required to fix vehicles that the hackers damaged, so we could relocate our camp. We lost our Military Offroad vehicle the night before and it has never respawned. They teleported to our vehicle locations and completely leveled the entire camp and surrounding areas. They spawned about 20 satchel charges. Stop speaking about things you know nothing about. Why does this community think we must accept the illegitimate actions of hackers? Hackers by definition are illegitimate and anything they do does not count. Unless the developers rein in on these hackers, this game community will die as fast as it grew.

I know the admin of the server personally and he wasn't on at the time of the incident. I was on when the server went down as well. This was an automated restart or a problem with the host. PS. You stole those vehicles from my group. I'm gunna get u.

So me and my 2 friends end up stealing 5 vehicles from another group. Not 5 min after we leave with a URAL full of gear and destroy the remaining vehicles does the server crash. We wait to re-log and eventually its up again. I log in next to all the vehicles fully intact, as they were right before we had destroyed them. And to top it off it was now night time. I was no longer driving the ural, which I was in upon disconnection.

    The airfield is on fire?

Dont worry, it's a bug already known by many Arma 2 players. It will not kill you. Didnt see the fires on DayZ but i know them well from GITS Evolution Mod (lots of damaged vehicles, if you reloggin you migth get that flames). It has something to do with the chopper. Just restart your game and it should be gone. Greets

    General Gameplay.

Hi, I'v been playing the game with a friend for around a week now, and I have some things i'd like to forward. I understand my opinions may be wrong or inaccurate due to my lack of knowledge of the game itself, but i'm just trying to help :) 1 - As a new player, when I started playing I found it incredibly hard to understand the basic mechanics of the game. I used YouTube videos for almost everything that needed to be done in order to survive. I wouldn't want the game to become to easy but for e.g. and I mean nothing final by this but, to help newer players; you spawn with more then you currently do. Now I wouldn't say ranged weapons would be ideal possibly a Knife of sorts which can do 3-5 hit damage to zombies (making them bad for player versus player combat, which wouldn't affect the longer lived characters pvp too much). To go with this I think some form of navigation would be very helpful for new players that are just joining a server. I don't know if it's been discussed but the in-game map is incredibly hard to find, would it be so bad to have one at spawn? However I'm sure this has been discussed alot. 2 - Cars. I don't want to go into the whole Realistic vs Un-realistic. But they're hard to aqquire and are the only viable way to travel to specific places on the map without enduring a horrendus amount of leaning a empty glass on the 'W' key. I don't understand the story behind why every car you see in the game is unfortunatly unavailable for use. If there is forgive me, but it's annoying that only some cars are repairable, and in some areas of the map it can be hard to find the materials to even fix one. I have no real suggestion here, possibly increased spawn rates for materials or a higher spawn rate for useable vehicles on the map. 3 - Supplies. Now I think i'v played enough to give a better overview of supplies including food and drink. Through personal opinion and opinions from others I have encountered and through videos I have watched, people hate that 50% + of Loot you find is empty cans. It's more then annoying travelling Kilometers to find a warehouse with nothing but empty tin cans on the floor. My suggestion for this is lower the spawn rate for these, and up the spawn rate for things like food. I know food can be farmed from killing Zombies but when fighting the 'buggy' zombies isn't an option early game it becomes more of a hunt to find food and drink then it is to experience the majority of the mechanics in the game such as vehicles, weapons and more. 4 - Zombies. They are the centre of the game, and work quite poorly from experience. This isn't a rant aimed at the team in any way. I'd like to point out some 'bug' issues that me and many others experience with them. I expect you have witnessed the issues yourself and would just like clarification for if they are being tweaked or this is the limitations of the engine itself. They run through walls, it's extremly annoying when you're in a village area. They seem to bug with attack range quite often, it makes it hard fighting them with a melee weapon. Their movment is sometimes ridiculous, which I have to agree adds to the fright factor of fighting them, but is sometimes impossible to hit because of the way movment and aiming your weapons works in close range. With the mechanics of the zombies it's hard for me to provide suggestions, so I apologise for this point being a 'bug' dump. Just some things I have experienced in my time playing I thought i'd share. Thanks :)
  12. Same issue. Also, the bug where some full vehicles disappear after a server restart but show back up on another restart is still happening.
  13. I'm getting error message saying "You got kicked off the server." immediately when I enter the lobby. I can play on most of the servers but I can't connect to servers with ports: 2302, 2306. I've tried to reinstall the game, update all the clients, rebooted computer, changed router even tried to have my mate send his installed folder. And have him connect his computer at my house to see if it was my connection, but It worked for him. I really wanna connect to these servers because my mates are playing there and they found vehicles etc. Any ideas?

    Unfair Servers

Wait what? Are they enforcing the rule "do not kill our clan members" only? I bet that: 1. they only play in this server 2. it is regular with nametags 3. they stored all known vehicles in the server Sounds like, based only in the enforced rule, that their server should be blacklisted.
  15. find vehicles' date=' make camps and await new updates for the game [/quote'] Or go kill people for their lootz, both are valid options, just because you disagree with one doesn't make it somehow against the rules.

    Removing stuff off-map

I would say thank you to the dev team, from when they resolved this issue is finally possible find some vehicles for the casual users, i've seen "excited" ppl to find motorcyles, bycicles, cars ... etc. while until yesterday they were only a dream! :) Thank you!
  18. These 4 guys all have GPS, Night Vision, Maps and great weapons. They also have 3 vehicles. How did they manage to get all this stuff when they only manage to make 25 minutes of video before 2 of them are shot dead at night on a server without many people? They must have cheated. They even mention one of the guys has been accused of cheating before. The 4 people in this video are hackers. We all have to go through the grind of looting. These guys should be banned. 1st Video 2nd Video

This is all a total lie. I just logged in and this is my inventory, after about 2 hours of looting around Elektro and then the Cherno apartments/hospital, after I DIED when I was teleported into the sky along with everyone else on your server: The most advanced weapon i've ever had in my inventory has been an M4A1 CCO and a couple of AK's. I only got Arma 2 CO on the 2nd of this month. I'm really amazed that you went to all this effort just to blame some random person. Why on earth would a hacker loot bodies when they can just spawn items/vehicles etc whenever they want, as is quite well documented? You think a hacker who can teleport people into the sky wouldn't be able to do that? I can't read these logs at all as i've played this game for a week and have absolutely no idea wtf any of that means, but I have no doubt that they either don't mean what you think they mean or that you just plain edited them to make me look guilty. I also have MANY posts I made on unrelated forums about this when it happened, complaining about how I died and how hackers have killed me around 5 times now. I'd be glad to give an admin access to my accounts to these forums (as they are private) and you can check out the posts I made for yourself. I could just screenshot them but screenshots prove nothing. All in all it's really disgusting the lengths you're going to just to blame some random person whos new to the game for something they didn't do at all. Here's what I was doing when this happened: I went afk for about 30min and stayed in the lobby because reconnecting to this game takes 5min+ for me. I came back from afk and spawned in. Ran around looting for about 2-3 min at Mogilovka, then got teleported into the sky and died. After this, I started a new character, looted around Cherno for a bit, and then went to Vysota. Here I server hopped a couple of times in order to loot the barn. Yeah server hopping is bad etc, but it's NOT hacking. Next I went to Kozlovka where I server hopped a few times again to loot the deer stand. After that I logged out for a bit, then when I came back I played on a different server and respawned to meet up with a friend since I didn't have any good items anyway. If there are logs on the hive server, I have no doubt that the Day Z admins can confirm everything i've said here. K I think I learned to read the logs now. I think you're connecting the messages of me connecting followed by items being written to the hive as me being the one looting them. I havn't coded anything since html in high school so I could be wrong but at a glance that's what it looks like to me, assuming you didn't edit these of those. From what I see you can see my real items here. The # thing is 12096715 15:00:12 "HIVE: WRITE: "CHILD:201:12096715:[118,[6529.62,2355.87,0.974679]]:[["ItemFlashlight"],["ItemBandage","ItemPainkiller","ItemSodaCoke","8Rnd_9x18_Makarov","ItemBandage"]]: 15:00:12 "HIVE: WRITE: "CHILD:201:12096715:[118,[6529.62,2355.87,0.974679]]:[["ItemFlashlight"],["ItemBandage","ItemPainkiller","ItemSodaCoke","8Rnd_9x18_Makarov","ItemBandage"]]:[]:[]:false:false:0:0:12:0:["","aidlpknlmstpsnonwnondnon_player_idlesteady03",37]:0:0:"Survivor2_DZ":0:" / 12096715" 15:00:51 "HIVE: WRITE: "CHILD:201:12096715:[105,[6543.91,2411.21,0.00143862]]:[["ItemFlashlight"],["ItemBandage","ItemPainkiller","ItemSodaCoke","8Rnd_9x18_Makarov","ItemBandage","8Rnd_9x18_Makarov","2Rnd_shotgun_74Pellets","6Rnd_45ACP"]]: ["ItemBandage","ItemPainkiller","ItemSodaCoke","8Rnd_9x18_Makarov","ItemBandage","8Rnd_9x18_Makarov","2Rnd_shotgun_74Pellets","6Rnd_45ACP","ItemMorphine"]]:[]:[]:false:false:0:0:19:0:["","aidlpknlmstpsnonwnondnon_player_idlesteady02",40]:0:0::0:" / 12096715" Etc etc. I looted most of my other items on that char from other servers because as I said I was server hopping for loot, which is probably why they don't show up. IIRC I had a double barreled shotgun and no sidearm. The way the loot progresses there its pretty clear to me that's my character, because when I spawned in I was at Cherno and I immediately went to the northernmost hospital/apartments to loot. You see me loot ammo along the way just incase I found a gun, and then morphine shows up in my inventory once I made it to the apartments.

    How to find a Vehicle?

I've been playing for around 2 weeks now and I gotta say, except the occasional tractor and bicycle, we were unable to spot a vehicle to repair. We've seen vehicles being driven but we are unable to spot one without an owner so we can repair it. I've found out from the interactive maps where the spawning points of the vehicles are, but still, we haven't come across one yet. So, how does one go about to look for a vehicle? Server hopping and a shitload of luck? Thank you in advance.

    ATLANTA 33 Lost Everything

I think its hackers that remove all items from players, tents, vehicles ...
  22. My UAZ and my tractors dissapeared. My tents that contained: 2 bizons - 6 mags fn fal - 3 mags m107 - 1 mag 2 g17 - 8 mags m16a2 m302 - 3 mags, 5 HE 1 frag 25+ blood bags 20+ morphine food water etc Why did this all dissapear? It seems whenever I put things into tents or vehicles I end up losing everything. Ive lost 3 FN FALs and 2 M16 Grenade launchers without firing a single shot.

To the Admin of Atlanta 33

Yes well your "2 minute" restart last night was about 1 minute not leaving my crew enough time to save the vehicles that they were on so they went poof. And everything else that was in our main camp is also just plain gone.

    ATLANTA 33 Lost Everything

It's not just him, we lost everything too. Multiple vehicles, all tents etc. There is something very shady about that server.
  25. ZedsDeadBaby

    De-Evolution of the Human Race

I'm not sure it does. At least, not in the way you imply. If I break down what I spend my time doing in DayZ, the main activities look like this: traveling to meet up with friends, gathering vehicle parts to repair vehicles, setting up camps to store excess equipment, gathering basic survival supplies, checking vehicle spawn locations, and searching for crashed helicopters for high-value military loot. None of these activities on their own or in combination are particularly thrilling. With a partner or two (I never play alone) zombies can be easily dealt with and now that I know the map just getting around successfully is no longer a great challenge. So why do I continue to play DayZ hours a day, every day, over 500+ hours in game already? Well, because each and every one of those activities is made incredibly intense, stressful and emotionally charged because I know at any moment my "plan" could be interrupted by an enemy player who has other things in mind for my evening. So why would I be angry with these people? Why should I hold ill-will towards them when they are the very people who make the things I do in the game interesting and fun? The reason I need powerful weapons, trusted friends, intimate knowledge of the map terrain and a keen understanding of the effective ranges and behaviors of various weapons is because these people exist and I have to deal with them occasionally. They are why the game is fun. They make DayZ what it is. You should be thanking them, not decrying their existence and calling into question their humanity and "treatment of other people." If dying "ruins your fun" or spoils the game for you, then I submit that you're just not quite thinking of DayZ in the right light. Dying is part of the fun, and the threat of death is the soul of DayZ's intensity and challenge. How you deal with it depends on what your goals are. I suggest finding at least one trusted friend to play with. Preferably 2-3. If you don't have any friends in real life who are playing the game, try to find a clan recruiting here on the forums, or look for servers with active Teamspeak channels and join those. Playing in a small, tactical team and cooperating is the single best thing you can do to increase your chances of survival. If you just want to survive as long as possible, then I reccommend a strategy of tactical avoidance. Scout ahead, remain aware, and if you spot players simply stay put and quiet and let them pass and go on their way. 90% of PvP situations can be avoided entirely just by staying where you are and not exposing your position to players. Read my treatise on the groundhog here for more information on the value of awareness and avoidance-style game play. But, that's not the only way. You can take a much more direct approach and try to eliminate your competition. Take the war to their soil. Find their camps and raid them. Steal their stuff. And if you see them, put holes in them. It's a more dangerous style, but it works too. To each their own in Chernarus. Best of luck out there, mate.
