A decent admin would ask via rcon, as he can see direct chat replies. Also, since 1.7 I have never had a restart that hasn't spawned tents and vehicles..

Bob doesn't hack lol. We drove around and raided crashed helis for a couple days and had lots of stuff stock piled from that, and a few camps we raided. You guys were the ones with hacked weapons (stuff that's not even IN dayz) at your base. The first time we ever ran into you guys we saw 3 of you at starry and I sniped umad, yuna and dromag instantly DC and server hopped to flank bob dole. Classy. We found your little guba base a few days before you hit us at our base above petro. We didn't touch anything because we didn't need an ATV or tractor and we figured we would wait until the base was ripe to hit. After you raided our base we went to gub to take the ATV and tractor to search for you (we didn't know it was your base) and found all our stuff waiting for us so we just camped and killed dromag. Nobody came in so we left 2 people there to watch for the rest of u guys to spawn in. We drove the vehicles to a totally random spot in the west which we had never been to before and went back for the last vehicle and to pick up our snipers, that's when 3 of u spawned in, Bob killed one and died. Yuna lagged out and umad was still in. When bob died I stopped heading there and went right to the coast to pick him up, and we drove right to our new 1 hour old base to find you guys already waiting for us. What a joke. None of you were even in the server when we drove out of the north east to see what direction we were going, and you find us in an hour after we killed 2 of you... Yeah, ok. Calling us hackers, good joke. -
Cheers guys!!! As i've said previous, as a clan its getting a little boring now. We have our server with Multiplay (LOL) and due to them never being upto date with the patches our server is pretty empty most of the time. Which has lead to us farming and taking all the vehicles ... We dont want this, we want clan vs clan, dog on dog! End game content for clans is what will save this game!!

heres a story, very tense WORTH THE LONG READ me and my buddies had a few vehicles like a truck and stuff. one day a friend of mine who had just started playing dayz was fairly eqiupped at the beach. a buddy and me decide to take a truck and pick him up from the beach. so we drive along the very western roads towards the coast. our truck was getting low on fuel and we had barely any spare parts extra in case of sth brakes. so we come close the coast where my buddy was running towards us. he just fired his last bullets for his einfield defending himself against zombies so i told him to drop it because i had a FN FAL in the back of the truck for him. but since i did not want to spent more time needed near the coast i told him just to hop on and sit on the back of the truck next to my other body (i rather have them sit outside so 1) ppl can see that im not alone and 2) when the drivers cabine gets shot not two ppl die at once) so we are drving back north and aproach zelenogorsk. buildings of interest there where the supermarket, the powerplant and the tank station. so we approach there and i drop of my old buddy at the supermarket to get some loot. meanwhile the buddy we just picked up at the beach (no gun on him- FN FAL still in the truck) and me drive to the power plant (500m away) to quickly find some engine parts. while driving ther i noticed some "smoke" or "dust"in the air and i was thinking "hmm that stuff i usually only see from vehicles". but since the server was almost empty and we where in an area not so populated i made the mistake and did not think about it again.so i drive the truck to the front gate and got out. i told my buddy to stay in the truck since i only wanted to do a quick run by. my 2nd buddy was still in the supermarket. now the shit begins. so i get out of the truck and run inside the industrial buildings when all of a sudden, SHOTS FIRED at me. i did not see where it came from but just turned around and wanted to get away. then BANG, a bullet hits me. i was not dead but i was unconscious right away. i shouted to my unarmed buddy in the truck, GET ON THE DRIVER SEAT AND SAVE THE TRUCK ! so he sad on the driver seat and started the engine. that moment i hear a second engine turn on. my buddy in the truck shouts back at me "there is a offroad pickup and a second guy just hopped into it, SHIT SHIT SHIT THEY FOLLOW ME NOW ! (probably one was waiting in the car, the otherone somewhere outside and thats maybe the one who shot me). so they both drive off in a hurry ! my friend who was just completly new to dayz ended up in a car chase without any orientation where he was or where he should drive with no gun on him and not much fuel. i told him "just GO MAN GO DONT STOP". so he drives and my buddy at the supermarket saw them disapearing behind the hill. my buddy from the supermarket now rushed to the industrial compound to save me. i was bleeding bad and still unconcious. when he arrived at my place he tried to bandage my wounds. all of a sudden a zombies appear and bite him. now he was bleeding too. and he lost so much health that he would die from bleeding faster then me. so i told him to use his only bandage on him and go back to the supermarket to find another one for me. meanwhile the guy in the truck was living hell. the offroader that chased him tried everything. they pushed him off the road, drove in front of him to make him stop and fired hundreds of rounds at him. by now he drove through multiple field and woods and was completly lost and didnt know where to go. again we told him JUST KEEP GOING. but then he said he was on the very low red of fuel and had maybe like 5 more minutes before running out. my other buddy who ran to the supermarket got unconscious 2 times on the way and while looking for bandages (he was at 3500 health or so while mine was approaching 5000 and dropping since still bleeding). at approaching 5000 i decided to log out to save some health. but that was a BAAAD idea beacuase: a second later the truck driver said he is recognizing the area again and that he might be able to find back! what a message! so my buddy from the supermarket rushes over to the industry with bandages. i log back in and then...bam...punishment for loggin out while under shock. i have that 5 minute or what unconscious state. so my buddy runs over to me and bandages my wounds but im still unconscious. that moment the truck was back at our place and we wanted to make a trap with the target to shoot the following offroad truck. BUT im not even close to waking up.. not even close at all ! so we tell the truck driver to keep driving in circles around the city as long as he can ! he says that he has no more fuel and btw he got shot as well and was bleeding too ! what a fucking nightmare ! so he keeps drving and we hear all the gunshots since they could cut him off easy and fire at him. he says he is now coming to the industry no matter what ! he has no more fuel and no more life. we said NO WE ARE NOT READY (i was still unconscious but almost there..almost). the truck driver said he could give us maybe 20 seconds at max trying his best but he couldnt see anymore good because he was now below 3000 health and loosing sight ! i was close of waking up and i said to my truck driver "TRY TO DRIVE THROUGH THE GATE AND MAKE SURE THE OFFROADER FOLLOWS YOU! WE WILL WAIT AT THE GATE !" so my other buddy rushes to the gate and started to wait, i was now finally waking up, and while getting on my feet the truck was already on its way and only a few meters away from the industry building. so the truck now come, but he didnt went through the gate, the driver was so low on health that he could not see that gate. he passed it on the left and crashed into the forrest. i rush to the front gate, my buddy already there, and there comes the offroad truck, rolling towards us maybe 10meters away! i tell my buddy OPEN FIRE OPEN FIRE and we fired right into the drivers cabine on full auto (m4a1 sds) and unload the complete magazine without stopping fire. the driver died immeadiatly and fell out dead. the passenger got out, but has a broken bone since he falls to the ground right away. he was obiously in shock because he seemed not to realize where the shots came from since he was now crowling parralel to us next to the vehicle not looking at us. we reaload and both of us unload another magazine on the last guy. yes we where nervous and full of adrenaline! the seconds bandit dies in a rain of bullets. after this our brave truck driver falls out of the vehicle saying is below 700 health and still bleeding. now zombies appear. i rush to my buddy to bandage him while my other buddy shoots his last 1911 magazines into upcoming zombies. i saved my buddy with 300 health. gave him blood transfusion. end of story, we all survived, got the bandits gear, got their truck and still have our truck. playing alot of dayz that was the most tense experience i had so far. i would pay alot of money to have the recordings of our skype conversation. i hereby want to give special credit to my buddy who drove the truck. he was completly new to dayz and ended up in this hollywood shootout. please please let me know what you think about this story and write me PMs if you like. i wrote this on the best of my memories and there was nothing added to the story . i hope you enjoyed it. in the end i have to say, even if we would have gotten shot in the end, i was enjoying it from the first second to the last. no matter if we would have lost it would be still a great experience! sorry for the long read. sincerely yours sudden

Rocket said he already tried the above ground structures and it cluttered the world too much. I believe he also mentioned he already has some sort of security/lock system that you can actually write the code for in-game, and then another player can try and hack his way through it. Not knowing any programing whatesoever I would probably just bash it with the axe until it opened:) Other thoughts/comments: I like the idea of gas or electric powered tools being needed. Needing to harvest wood to use as support beams underground could be interesting. Would depend on how the mechanics of actually digging out and creation works. Removal of dirt might be too tedious for my tastes. Solar panels in addition to generators? Pros and cons.. more visible (esp from the air), but no refueling needed.. Hydroponics: would be neat, especially if you could loot rare and high quality seeds. Perhaps some plants could provide medicinal remedies as an alternative to needing to always raid hospitals. Respawn: This may not be within the concepts for the game, but I really would not mind respawning inside my shelter rather than the beach. If I've got the shelter to a point that it is livable then I have most certainly paid my dues in the game...respawning there instead of the beach would be a huge relief to the start over fatigue. Could entrances be big enough to drive vehicles into? mostly comes down to how the doors will work? Lots of interesting ways this could be done, Looking forward to hearing and discussing more as time goes on! -
Hello, I am a fairly new DayZ player (only the last 10 days or so) and I love this game. The sandbox concept and huge world makes this game super appealing; however, I noticed my middle finder on my left hand has started to feel the pain from running around a 225sq km map all day. I've invested in a quarter to shove in between my 'W' and '2' keys to allow my character to run without me holding the key down all of the time, but that doesn't always work and isn’t really a permanent solution. Back in the day I used to play the original Everquest game that also has a gigantic in game world and they had 'Num Lock' as the autorun key. Is there any way we can implement that into the DayZ mod? I've been thinking about the realism part of the game, and I know a few people who run marathons. They say when they are running they don’t even think about it, it’s as if they are on autopilot. So I would assume that a lost individual in a zombie apocalypse who's had to run non-stop for days on end would have the same mindset, so this would not take away from the realism concept of the game (which I love so much). And as far as the vehicles are concerned, most automobiles since the 1980's have had cruise control, so maybe we can just assume that’s what our characters are using if they apply the numlock/autorun while in a vehicle. Thoughts? Suggestions?

i code and script my own stuff. its what armas written on. and a waste of time? how do you not fine the allure of controlling a world fun? albiet most people say that because coding is beyond their knowlege but comeon. lol you gotta be smart to code. and alot of people are probally just stupid script kiddies that jack others scripts and act all cool when they are really just stupid. i work out every day i have no acne beyond the norm for my age ( and whatever proactiv misses.) but yeah im a fitness nut and i eat extremely healthy. so id say the hardcore graphics designers and coders are healthier than most people alive. mainly because our eyes and minds are put to so much strain and fatigue that we have to eat healthy and stay fit to remain in able condition. :) now you CAN be fat and lazy and do all this but... eh itll show in your work. i enjoy graphics aLOT. check my sig link for my works. and those are just doodles. so... your stereotyping us but eh i could stereotype you also XD the only real difference is we learned and we apply our knowlege of coding annndd you apply your skills elsewere. were all equal. just depends on where you invest your memory and passions. <3 [edit] also to add. dayz is awesomely fun. but sometimes the insane shenannigans that happen on the rouge servers is just knock out laughing funny. for example i was trolling, spawning in giant battleships in cherno ( the way it works is you spawn a goat. move away kill the goat and the goat death triggers the item spawn script. the goat method is to prevent the vehicle from spawning on top of you and killing you) but my bud and i were in a tungusta and we spawned in like 5 goats. and we were driving away and hes Canadian so dunno wtf is up with them but he went nuts (as usual) and shot all 5 goats and 1 in front of us. the ship spawned in and we were in it. tungusta died. we jumped out and ran outside ( you can move through the ship like walking through walls when you accidentally spawn inside but the vehicles fucked) got out of the ship and yeah it was meyham. other hackers were already there but they were staying all quiet. they had artillery up on the hill above cherno and they had 50 cal.s and yeah q.q it was hillarious. -
DayZ should become a stand alone game using a different engine.

Even if another Engine were capable of running a Map the size of Chenarus, that simply wouldn't be enough to switch to that Engine. I get the impression that a lot of you have no idea how much Work and Time would be required to make such a switch. Rocket, to start, is familiar with the Arma 2 Engine, is using a standard Map, and using standard items within the Map. A switch to another Engine would require creating a Map, Weapons, Vehicles, Characters, other Items, Animations, and even mountains of Code. Simply too daunting a task for Rocket to do alone as he would have to relearn the Ins/Outs of the new Engine before starting(itself something that takes Months). Even if he had a Team familiar with the new Engine, it would take probably at least a year to throw something together that resembles a functioning game. That game though, would likely be missing key features available in the current Mod, because the Arma 2 Engine has many features built in that other Engines simply do not have. All this said, such a Team Costs lots of $ and would likely require 20-100 Individuals that need to be Managed in directions they are unfamiliar with(Realism). -
It's actually common knowledge to people who play on Atlanta 63 (or US 465 as I guess it's now called) that this goes on. After a server restart, Woggaz will be in there with "Cashretard", "Deano", and "Herbal" for quite a while, and everyone else who joins gets kicked. I don't think it takes 4 people to check if tents/vehicles are spawning correctly, but I could be mistaken.

when I talk environment I include objects. these are my ideas that are just as effective as learning method and still have everyone one even playing field. hunting: hopefully the animal AI is improved as you said so they are more aware of the player. if an animal is shot in the side meat would have a higher chance of being spoiled. as you said this it I think it should depend on the placement of the shot entirely instead of the character. if you shoot in the side the animals code should say okay now meat retrieved will be tainted at a 75% chance during harvest. head shot animal code says .1% chance of meat being tainted. hit the leg animal it starts to limb or slows shot two legs it falls then shoot again. all chance are in the animal coding while still effect what the character retrieves from the animal. medical: bandages have 1% chance of being ineffective 14% chance of partially stopping bleed 85% chance of fully stopping bleed painkillers have 0% chance of fail which would increase by .2% each time you take it 100% chance of working which would decrease by .2% each time it is taken once fail and success are at a 50/50 ratio addiction occurs morphine: 0% chance of fail will increase by .5% from each use 100% success which decreases by .5% for each use once the ratio between ineffective and success is 40/60 addiction occurs transfusion(blood pack): .5% chance of hurting player 4.5% fail 35% 1/2 successful only gain 1/2 of what you normally would 45% 3/4 chance of success gain 3/4 of the blood you normally would 15% complete success full gain antibiotics: .5% chance ineffective 99.5% chance of success chance of success decreases by .5% each use resistance to antibiotics one 85% ineffective ammonia; 100% successful but 5% chance of side effects like shaking, headaches, dizziness (Don't build much) engineering. depending on what your fixing put a percentage on the chance each part will successfully repair this means more items needed to repair because it can only get partial. this is not based on character but universal chance. even if you fix a car 1000 times you still have a chance of failing the same chance as the new player. no character can learn to build better but is more likely to have the material to continue the attempt unlike the new player. sneaking: walking in grass is different then walking on concrete the sound your steps make and the volume should be dependent on that. if you walk quickly you make more noise then moving slowly. closing a door should make noise alerting zombies close to it maybe a foot or two around the door. food/water: canned food should occasional be found spoiled and should spoil if left in your inventory for to long. water should be found tainted as well as clean. water in ponds/rivers/pumps/well should have a chance to get you sick. meat taken from animals should rot in your pack and attract wild predators possibly zombies. to cook food which I never done so not sure how it works, but set up fire with wood matches and the like then possibly have a inventory type hud where you place the meat to cook so you are not venerable and you must judge how much time it takes to cook it. or have a percentage system where 15% chance of under cooking, 20% overcooking 10% chance of burning 55% cooked perfectly. add infections and other sicknesses, add parasites like ticks, tape worms and vomiting. as has been done weather effects body heat wind effects shots, there should be chances of strong storms that can knock down trees blow away tents and damage vehicles. change items spawns so that in certain buildings your more likely to find certain items. for example houses 25%chance to find empty tins, 30% chance to find food/drinks, 5% rare food items/drinks, 25% medical supplies, 15% small caliber weapons. -
Hello all, I've logged over 100 hours in DayZ, but since the most recent update (1.7.2.3) I have issues (re)connecting to certain servers. The first time I play on a server I have no issues, but when I come back to play later on or the next day (without changing any files) I can sometimes no longer connect to it, I just get stuck on loading (I've let it sit for up to 30 minutes before). Because of this I can no longer play on my "home" server, which has my group's vehicles in it. So far I've tried: Reinstalling Operation Arrowhead Reinstalling DayZ Reinstalling/Updating Battleye Restarting computer Verifying game files (I have the steam version) Launching/connecting with/without six updater None of this has helped, I still get stuck on loading (after getting to the player screen, pressing ok, seeing receiving, and then 'waiting for character to create'), I can even see the death messages of players in the server, but never end up finishing loading. I couldn't find anyone else with this exact issue (in 1.7.2.3) and have verified that I have the proper versions of everything and can connect to other servers. I'm out of ideas, do you guys have any?

I'm on a pretty decent amount, and I'm tired of running solo. Need a bunch of people for security and completing objectives (fix vehicles, loot helicopters, etc). He's still on the server and all of a sudden, the camp that we have (which is weeks old and was never ever found by anyone) was raided by people with starter gear. They took an L85AWS, 2x Bizon Mags (We also 2 of the Bizon SMGs but they were still there.), 2x Camo Clothing and left their coast gear all over the place and two of our vehicles, except the bicycle. On a sidenote, this must have happened about 40-60 minutes ago since one of us logged out then and all was fine. We packed our shit now (We had more than they could carry. Pretty funny that they only took the L85NOOBWS) and will propably move on to another server. This place is infested since today. It's absolutely no problem for a hacker to turn on some scripts to get all the currently spawned vehicle and player locations. Just to let you guys know. Pack your shit onto your character before you log out, don't leave it in tents. At least as long as these people are gone by themselves or banned. Anyways, to all the longtime players here, I personally recommend to haul ass onto another server. Hackers come to the server and suddenly shit like this happens. What an coincidence, eh? :rolleyes: -

LOL at the people suggesting the Cryengine or Unreal engine. The stand alone DAYZ game is aiming to be bigger then the current game (as far as I know) and have far far more enterable buildings. The Cryengine can do large environmonts, but not the size ARMA 2, or 3's engine can. And the UNREAL engine would not support such large maps either, MMO's are one thing, they are divided into zones (sometimes by load screan, often times by bottle neck entrances) and they also lack the dense vegitation of ARMA 2. That would also likly be an issue with the CRY engine, massive maps with dense vegataion spread over many KM's with no laid screens and massive view distances. Add in town/cities with enterable buildings and I don't think they Cryengine could deal with it. Also ARMA comes with the realistic mil sim mechanics and weapons/vehicles. If they did not use ARMA all that content would have to be created. I was not overly impresed by ARMA 2's engine at first though I admired the size of the game world, but after playing Dayz for a few months now I have come to appreciate the beuty of the game world and the real life weather and day/night cycles, as well as just how vast a game world it really is. My hope is the stand-alone Dayz will use the ARMA 3 engine, and besides I think ARMA is deserving of a bit of love. -

One time purchase for core game with buy to play map packs that include new weapons, npcs and vehicles every six months or so to keep the game feeling fresh. Maybe bring on Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull or other outside money as a source of income for the Dev team, could have ingame billboards and of course consumables promoting the real life companies products that also exist ingame. Just no F2P crap where little kiddies with a parents credit card can buy high end weapons and such, that would undermine everything that makes this game good. -

US128 has a group of geeks cheating gear and teleporting vehicles back to themselves once they lose them to being outplayed 3 times in a night the fuckin losers names are Ryan Jacob Nathan Naizo Cryoquasm the little kids have tents at 15-70 north west of myshkino and they just spawn in new gear after getting raided. their aim blows dick so it wasnt suprising to find out they cheated because they accomplished nothing in their lives. -

Word it however you want, I think 'Endgame' Equips are basically just a set of items that you have, and there isnt an item in the game currently that could replace it as an upgrade, you have the best pistol, best primary, best outfit, and the best sight equipment. But that doesnt mean its the end of the game, i think DayZ is actually 2 different games. The first one being a survival game against an infinite horde of zombies were you have to try to survival with little more than some advil. once you have all the best items and gear, you have some vehicles, tents with extra equipment in case you die, then your at the Endgame for that 'Phase', but then after that the second game begins. thats were you work together with people as a group of military units, go around searching for helis to get more rare guns, go searching through NWAF and fighting other players at the ACT or the barracks, were you try and ambush other clans to get their vehicles, weapons and supplies. that part of the game never ends, and is the most exciting! so when people say 'Endgame" stuff, i agree with what they mean, but they do not mean its the end of the game. it just means they have survive the initial PvE experience, and are now ready to go on the offensive. -
what the fuck..... can someone confirm this? I play with 4 other friends and we have been looking for camps to steal vehicles/heli from but have not found/seen a single heli to date

Definition of the word ENDGAME

Okay, for everyone who hates the words "endgame content" use your imagination and everytime someone types out "endgame content" replace those words with, "Content for people who already have access to vehicles, high end military loot, and who routinely raid crashed heli's and military barracks." Personally, I don't have a stick so far up my ass that I can't admit that "endgame content" is a handier summation than the 22 word alternative I suggested, but if you're that anal about it be my guest. Anyway, the very fact that "endgame content" exists in DayZ means that more can always be added. I like the idea of more dynamic spawns like the heli's, and fewer static spawns so that you have people exploring the map more instead of farming known hotspots. I also like the idea of basebuilding that rocket suggests, although It'd fall kinda flat for me unless player built strongholds get zombie spawns the same way as towns currently do. -

Hey guys, so my server has been getting hacked the past few days (global nuke, vehicle teleport, etc) and it's been happening WAY TOO frequently to even enjoy the alpha. Before someone says "don't get attached to your gear, THIS GAME IS IN DURH ALPHRA, etc"... getting hacked 2x a day 3 days in a row is really hard to deal with when collecting vehicles/military grade equipment. Apparently there is a way you can make battle eye better by updating the scripts it bans/kicks/logs (last night). So i've come across a post with about 300 or so anti-cheat scripts, however I wasn't sure if the "nuke/teleport" commands were there. So if anyone minds giving me those 2 scripts to block, I'd appreciate! Thanks folks :D Happy hunting. -
Hey. I'm English, 18+ & wanting to join any kind of group. Preferably one interested in Vehicles, general team-oritentated fun. I usually play at night time - so 11PM - 6 AM GMT. - So I would prefer some weird kind of night UK players, or even an American team that would fit into my play time hours.
