As this suggests, Me and my friend (Stevie and Aaron ingame names) are looking for another couple of players to join us on our travels, we have recently moved server due to it not updating and in our previous server had a setup with a small camp and 3 vehicles. We are looking for someone (or two) to join us on Skype and ingame. Prefer UK/Europe (or GMT time atleast, and speak English) and semi-mature(!?) we are both late 20's. Would love another person to take up the offer, we are very social and are loving the game so far! (good job DayZ team) Cheers!

I personally think the hacker is just nicking as many vehicles as he can and just hiding them.

I would rather go with sth like this : Military - only he can use military gear and weapons (at least majority of them). Start with a camo clothing. Medic - only he can conduct a blood transfusion. Maybe also ability to recover some blood if using a bandage. Start with a morphine and a blood bag. Hunter - only he can gut animals (and probably cook them too). Harder to spot for infected. Start with knife. Technician - only he can repair all vehicles (other ppl can repair a bicycle), setup/remove a wire fence (and the rest deployable). Probably also other stuff connected with "creation" which are planned for the mod (like power generators, player created towns ect.). Start with a toolbox. Of course its pretty harsh, so maybe it would be better if everyone could do everything but some "classes" are better in doing certain things for example a hunter gets more meat from gutting or a technician have 100% chance for succesful repair.

well we have a server US 1104 and we set up some tents to do a camp after the last update tents just disappear with the whole stuff and som vehicles too is this a game bug or server problem?

Hello Bambi, I'm the owner of US273. Firstly, I'd like to say one thing, I apologize. What happened WAS wrong and I understand it is against the rules to do what we did. That being said, I'd like to offer some clarification as to why we did it. (This does not justify what we did nor make it any better, just want to put you in our shoes) So, we spend a week or two getting vehicles on our server, stock-piling resources, player-killing, etc... then one day I wake up, and get a call from one of my group members yelling at me that 'hackers are raiding our base, get on ASAP' So, I, grudgingly, wake up and come to find that apparently a 'hacker teleported' to our base (that was the story at least), I suppose the guy you killed assumed it was a hacker because, according to him, he 'looked around thoroughly before heading up to base.' I suppose this may, or may not be correct. However, that was the story I heard, so I imeeditatley shut down the server, (we've had previous hacker issues, I.E. teleportation, mass-kill, and other issues on the server before) fearing that if we got on to try to stop it we would just be insta-killed or something of the sort. So, in my shoes here is what I saw. -Our entire base, getting up and leaving, to something that may or not be legit, everything we worked for about to be gone, because of (what I thought) was a group of guys that break the rules for their own enjoyment. Now tell me, if you had the 'stop' button for the server (if you were in my shoes) would you not press that button? Anyways, that's my side of the story. I now know that you're not hackers and that you were indeed playing legit (at least I hope so, from reading this thread), and I do understand it was against the rules. Yeah, honestly that TG clan sucks balls. Always hogging all the vehicles, kicking people, and just being complete assholes to everyone else. Please chew out these guys. I know they pay for their server, but they are soiling the name of their hosters company. TAKE THIS SERVER DOWN.

Been playing for about a month or more. Play under the name ZeBarron. Longest surviving time was 22 days. I try to play it safe and I've been known to help out other players. Currently on the hunt for tents and vehicles! Message me if you'd like to join up sometime.

I actually take this as the same thing as shutting down the server to stop people from doing things the admins may not like. Ex. Hacking, raiding camps, stealing vehicles, camping major towns/good old fashioned banditry.

Clearly you have no clue what maintaining a server is all about. The amount of time that goes into keeping a server lag free... Making sure hacks are not being used... keeping teleporters from ruining the game so people actually come to your server... Being able to spend hours of your gaming time to set up a camp... collect loot and weapons only to have some kid who pays $10 for a script to teleport everyone in your server to one place and mass murder them. teleport all the vehicles to anywhere they want to take away every players assets they have spent hours to get. Troll Fail go away kid.

The OP agreed to have his server blacklisted IF 1) He used his server to exploit (ie, restart constantly for new loot / vehicles) 2) Lock his server from the public (password) 3) Banning EVERY SINGLE PLAYER FROM HIS SERVER (The same as locking pretty much) He never agreed to have his server blacklisted for banning a few hackers that ruin his server completely.

Could just get rid of tents, I mean it's not like they're a nessecity. Vehicles do a great job of storing the little supplies that we're supposed to have. In all honesty, tents cheapen the survival because they encourage hoarding, which implies there's enough stuff to be hoarded, which then it's not very survival like is it? If a group of survivors find a vehicle, then sure it would be awesome to store stuff in it. So someone link me to where the discussion about ammo becoming rare is? I want to add "and guns too, plus a server wipe"

just so you know, when the server resets; all the tents / vehicles go back to where they were with the last stuff they were saved with. people dont lose stuff when you find it atm

Our squad found one at Skalisty and repaired it fully, only to have the server nuked by hackers about 0.1 miliseconds after the last part was attached. Everybody died and I had to reboot the server to stop the nuking, all vehicles except for the Huey is where they should be even though they did explode. Anyone got any information on if the Huey respawns if the dissapearance was caused by the server reboot?

Honestly, I encounter heaps of ammo - but rarely any weapons by comparison. And if i get a weapon i will pass heaps and heaps of unrelated ammo, ending up running out of said weapon's ammo, then will find a new weapon the ammo for which i passed ages ago. it is too hard for the honest mucker tbh, with struggling to get the freaking matches, water, food, not get raped by zeds or sniped - all without a vehicle. i had my first vehicle today for a few hours. it was laughably different to my experience thus far. i ran over, purposefully and accidently, over 60 zeds. The zeds cant damage the bus or me. I tooled up from one end of the map to the other. Made me think.. this game is a totally different experience for the clan guys..not to mention the hackers. with their tents and vehicles on the one hand and spawning any weapon on the other. and you wanna roll back the ammo for legit cunts struggling on the coast? yea, make that shit harder again, increase the have/have not rate.

Vehicles show up on Thermal yes, so does players, zombies, and....other things that give off heat....

Alright, my friend and I set up a camp, well hidden and the like but overlooking the coast. Well we're loading up a pick up and UAZ to move the camp. Suddenly we see a PBX fly by on the coast. I take shots and hit the driver 2-3 times with an L85, he doesn't die, get crippled or anything. Well my friend is filling up a White Pickup, it blows up and he gets Battleeye#55'd, which errors him out. I assume it's .50cal fire as the pickup was blown up instantly (before I hear he's errored). I grab my UAZ and book it into the forest. I get far enough in and pop out scanning with thermal, no reactions. I get back into the UAZ and book it, but 1 second passes then BOOM, UAZ blown up with me in it and I get Battleeye#55'd. This, needless to say pisses us off. We log back in and are both alive but the vehicles are blown up so we swear an oath to travel north and kill the bastard. Well a little backstory, 2 days before we found a camp with: 3 ATV's 1 Pickup 1 UAZ 1 Motorbike 6 Tents We raid all the camps, all the vehicles then proceed to DESTROY the tents. Back to the main story, we decide "fuck our gear, it's revenge". At this time we assume it's either an illegitimate admin or a hacker. Well we get up to the old camps and what do you know, the 6 tents are FULLY up and functional. First time we find the camps: 3 AS50's 6+ L85's 5 SVD Camo's 4 Ghillie's 3 MK 48's 16 Nightvisions 7 Range Finders 5 FN FAL's 6+ M4A1 CCO SD's SHITTONS of ammo SHITTONS of medical supplies This time we find: M107 AS50's Bizon+Mags M4A1 CCO SD's SHITTONS of ammo SHITTONS of medical supplies And tons more So I need clarification, hacker or server admind abuse or are we just overly paranoid. Keep in mind, this is 1-2 days they/he/she FULLY regeared the area

Rocket, Fix the tents. PLEASE. Also can you tone downthe audio the vehicles make while in 3rd person? It's crazy how loud they are when trying to listen to your environment. Like hearing yourself getting shot at. It's even hard to hear my buddies talk in game and in teamspeak. I dont want to turn down my game volume and turn up teamspeak. 1. If i turn down the volume, then I can't hear myself getting shot at. 2. If i turn up teamspeak anymore my friends voice will be distorted.

It's called the Armory. If you wanna access it make a mulit player server change the map to Cherenaus then select the mission COOP 008 ARMORY It spawns in random vehicles and weapons for you to use generally 2 snipers and a bunch of assault rifles. It let's you learn to shoot and drive or fly. This is already included inside ARMA you don't need an external download.

I keep losing my gear in tents also. Vehicles are also losing items. It happens between restarts also. I logged out, came back later to switch some gear in a tent. Not there. I'm beginning to hate this mod.

Close, but no cigar :) We may be nubs, but dont like to keep vehicles in plain sight.. maybe a bush or two to keep the hidden. The HV guy you killed there was just roaming around and discovered the camp as well.

Many of you seem to be mistaking duping with hacking. Having an item and duplicating it is NOT hacking. You only have to find one of anything to have many of everything. It's exploitative, yes; but it is definitely not hacking, and should not be considered as such. If you have 1 of every weapon, with a group of people that know what they're doing, you could set up an entire base full of 10 of each weapon in tents faster than you could gather 1-2 vehicles and bring them back to said camp. Now if you saw AS50 TWS's, or items of the like (that don't even spawn in the game), then there was hacking in some way shape or form. It doesn't necessarily mean that they did the hacking. They could have killed a hacker and then duplicated the weapon, but hacking took place in some form to get the weapon into the game. Having a lot of nice things doesn't make you a hacker, ESPECIALLY now that helicopters are out...because all you need is one helicopter and you can take anything/everything on the map and make it your own.

There is no way in hell even a group of 20 players can gather up 30 tents with 10+ weapons of each type in tents like this. Even Camping Tent is a rare item and they have like 30+ something tents ...... + alot of vehicles. Seems like the server is quite full now which is rare for a US server at this hours....good luck hunting them!

by m1 i assume you mean m1911?? dont call it an m1 if thats what you mean....the other m1xx guns would be m107, m14 or m1014 which could all dmg a vehicle pretty bad and i wouldnt call them small arms..........................also i think bullets could blow up a vehicle if hitting the right spot either way the only thing about vehicles is they shouldnt blow up with a red hull i dont understand that

Colgate, Bizon and, Headhunter are not players that I know or that I recognise as regulars on the server, I do not have a bus or a van. I can tell you 100 percent that my actions, which I admitted to will in no way get me blacklisted or banned. I was simply trying to invite you back to the server and be polite, you come back defensive. I could care less about farming gear or vehicles as I often die and lose them, my camp has been flattened by other players many times, I am frankly not that attached to gear in this game some people seem to be. I do the community a service by hosting a server to play on, keeping it fair, balanced, and providing monitoring. Remember it costs admins money to host a server. Without us, you would have no place to play. Show some of us the benefit of the doubt as not all of us are bad guys. I honestly could care less about a ban or blacklist, it means a spare 60 bucks a month for me and I'll just play on someone else's server. I don't have a group of friends that play, I only have 1 and we don't often even meet up because most times one of us is dead and the other is far away, he gets no special treatment on my server. In fact, I have kicked him before being an ass. Also, your claims come with no substantiating evidence, I could have simply posted a reply like "screen or it didn't happen" but I didn't. I explained the situation and invited you back to play so you could see what playing on my server is really like. You don't want to hear it, you just want to rage. Trust me, my server won't be blacklisted, I won't be banned, as I have done nothing wrong and nothing again the TOS of DayZ. So, I am done trying to be polite. Also, at no time were you banned from the server or teamspeak, you were only kicked while I was trying to identify the player that was teleporting people and killing them. If you want, I can leave the server be a free for all, never log in as admin again and let hackers, ghosters, and exploiters run rampent ruing the fun for everyone. Your choice. My sole purpose for hosting a server is to give players a place to play and also, having a place to play that I know will be running because I notice so many server go missing after a short while. Until you try running your own server, dealing with hackers, dealing with people complaing, give us the benefit of the doubt. Did you try to rejoin 20 mins later? No, as once I figured out who was causing the problems I only had to kick that one person, and if you want to research it, you can see that players were only being kicked for 10 mins, while I searched the server logs to identify who was causing trouble. After that, everyone else was allowed back in to play at thier own will. If you don't like how I manage the server feel free to play on any one of the 3000 others. Trust me, you will run into problems everywhere as this game is in alpha and all kinds of things go wrong and admins kick people all the time for no reason at all, it has happened to me. Atleast I have a reason. Frankly, I have a good reputation as a server admin on Reddit, and that matters a lot more to me then one person having a bad time. Also, since I only have an ATV and no really good gear, it is no harm to me if my server gets banned, only the people who play on my server all the time and that have large camps will be hurt, I don't have much to lose and I can just move onto another server and save myself the frustration and money.
