From when I first got DayZ my challenges progressed like this: Avoiding Zombies Killing Zombies Hunting For Good Loot Avoiding Players Killing Players Being a Sniper Building Forts Hunting Bandits NW Airfield Fixing Up Vehicles Helping New Players The greatest challenge I have found in the game, is to help a fresh spawn stranger get supplies in Cherno or Electro. They are magnets for death and I quite enjoy killing everything and everyone that comes after them. Where do you find your greatest challenge? What goals have you set for yourself?

I think it only works on anti vehicles only. But idk if there are any in the game lol.

***UPDATED POST*** Hey everyone, Just want to update this thread to our current situation. We closed our group for a while since we felt that we had reached a solid number of players (18) and didnt want to grow too much too quickly and lose intimacy. So, now after building up our core group more, we are willing again to add some extra players to our group. As usual, we are looking for Swiss German speaking players who are looking to join an open group of players. We are fairly laid back, dont take things too seriously in the sense that we are human and we all make mistakes. We enjoy our little raids every now and then, looking for better loot and vehicles. Our core group has been playing together for several weeks, so if you chose to join, you will find a friendly, semi-organized group of Swiss German players who are all between 20-30 years of age. I don't often post threads of this nature, but unfortunately sometimes it is necessary due to the problems myself and other players within the group I play with have experienced playing on US 1543. The first problems were nothing too serious, a bit of combat logging and some ghosting but nothing unexpected. Our group found a few vehicles and as such we started to frequent the server more often. It's been fine for a few days and we had had no problems with them until today. One of our group discovered their base, within which 2 of their tagged members {PAF} BoomPow and {PAF} Foxtrot, as well as another untagged player named Matthew. At first they were firing off shots at will, seemingly random which seems a bit unusual as ammo for the particular weapon, an M240 (I believe) is not a particularly easily obtainable item in large quantities. After a few minutes of this random firing Matthew was killed, although the three of them within the group had been running around. Our friend who had been maintaining over-watch on their base then found a player right next to him and subsequently was killed. This is where things got really interesting; I met up with a friend who had his motorbike that we were going to go north with, upon getting on to the motorbike a black SUV teleported in front of us with both Matthew and {PAF} BoomPow inside it (PMC addon SUV), seeing this I immediately opened fire on the two of them within the vehicle - Matthew was killed although even after 8-9 shots {PAF} BoomPow was still alive and had time to take his M240 out and kill both myself and the player I was with. By no means am I clearly stating that {PAF} are a clan of hackers, although an explanation from a {PAF} member would be nice to clarify this situation. EDIT: After respawning, we were greeted by the welcome sight of a UH-1H over Elektro, which proceeded to mow down any, and everything with little care for ammunition consumption. They landed, carefree, in the middle of the town and a member unloaded who then killed me, you'd think that one would take a little more care of a helicopter in-game. Not the best behaviour from a clan.

Can admins view logs, and do the logs tell you coordinates that things happen? Just wondering if logs can be used to track vehicles etc.

'Babes, Bikes & Buses' (Youtube) youtu.be/KK-0jR-7_ls After "Girls First Time", we ended up in Prigorodky hiding from a guy with a rifle... quite soon after we found a bus with just enough gas to get us to Otmel - saving a guy getting swarmed on the way, and killing three people in defense of the bus by the end.. It was the most intense few hours of DayZ I've played since starting on 1.5.6.. Ive mostly been messing around the coast but now that Ive tasted the sweet nectar of vehicles I am going hunting... After this I want to give people more of a chance to talk, but who wouldnt shoot someone aiming with an akm? EDIT - Ah fuck the title of the thread should be "Girls Second time"

Survival servers, who will be the last to survive? So, you think you have the skills to live the longest? Can you survive the zombies, starvation, dehydration and other players? With my suggestion, we can put your skills to the test! First, a server is made fresh. People fill the server in a "waiting" area until 50 or so survivors are on. Then, the server spawns everyone at a random location on the coast, and it is a free for all from there on to see who can live the longest. A few changes Items that spawn, won't respawn. Food, Ammo and medical supplies will need to be rationed! Vehicles will spawn, but not respawn. All "gas" tanks can only refill jerry can a certain amount of times before they are empty Animals will spawn, but not respawn if killed. Food and water will drain faster. This will promote taking risks to get supplies, rather then just camp out in the forest waiting. When you log off, your character will remain in the game. This will be you sleeping. Death I permanent. If you die, the server will temp ban you until a new instant will start. This would give game play a goal. Will you survive on your own? Forum a group to raid towns for supplies? Team up with other players to eliminate the competition, just remember, only one person can win. I am thinking these servers will last about a week before there is one person left. After the person win, the server restarts, respawns everything and waits for 50 more people to join. I don't want EVERY server to be this way, just a few. It is a great way to work towards a "end game goal". How will you survive?

Figure they'll play with water in the standalone version of the game, right now they are prioritizing other concerns. As it is now, only the PBX is fast enough to justify using water vehicles (the other ships spawn too far and move too slow to matter). And there ain't many places to go or hide but Drakon and Stalinsky. Hopefully in the future they make it so it plays a bigger role in the game, as you say. After all, one of the most common responses to "what will you do in the case of a zombie apocalypse?" is go to a deserted island.

Doubtful we will get since Rocket was planning going under the ground. Would still be handy for vehicles. Also mentioned a ton of times before.

I had a hacker spawn tons of boats, bikes and cars, while all the normal vehicles like our ural and chopper wasnt in their normal place. we saved some of the bikes, but once the server restarted all the hacked in stuff was gone and our old regular vehicles where back where we left them before the hacker was there :)

Last night our group was elated to find one lone guy landing a chopper. We engaged and killed him, but not before he shot the engine out with his AS50. (His only gear was an AS50, ghillie, and Patrol Pack, leading us to believe the chopper was hacked in and he had been hacking) While 2 of us were watching the chopper, a bus drove by and the sniper I was overwatching for shot it causing it to stop and the driver to jump out who then died to the sniper. A few mins later, we saw another player low crawling to the bus and get it moving, and the sniper shot it 7-10 times with no effect, not even on the glass. After hours of searching for the part, we fixed the chopper and got it airborne. One rough landing later the engine was slightly damaged. I (Pilot) got out while my mates were checking a spawned chopper crash, when I got back in, the chopper was totally fixed, proving it was hacked. Within 10 minutes of flying, my gunner spotted another chopper in the air, when he shot at it, a player jumped/fell from the chopper and died, and the chopper crashed. Very Bizarre behavior. Logging in this morning, the chopper was gone but none of our other items were taken. I'm wondering if players have been using scripts to find hidden vehicles, since the chopper spot was outside the normal lanes of traffic as well as hidden from the eye and parked in a spot that was very hard to land in. While I totally expected it to get stolen/destroyed quickly, within 6-8 hours seems suspicious.

Before I posted this I did a search and nothing came up, so.... Watching the Sidestrafe/Rocket interview on YouTube the phrase 'make death harsher' came up. The context of the phrase was in some speculation between Rocket & Sidestrafe on the future direction of the mod. What if when you are killed everything you own despawns. Obviously all your gear you are carrying will but I'm talking about anything you have stashed in tents, or vehicles etc. Everything. Including those tents and vehicles themselves. Gone. No more being killed, respawn on the beach and run to your cache of 300 rifles and gearing up again and carrying on. It's late, I've had a long day and this is just a very rough thought.

Hello, There have been a few instances now where there have been hackers in my server, and I've done my best to go through logs and identify who they are, but I'm assuming there must be a better way. A good example would be an incident that happened yesterday. Someone in my server was spawning vehicles and ammo... Multiple players reported to me that they would hear this person over direct voice chat offering them weapons, gear, etc, (all over the map). I looked through chat logs, but found nothing definitive as it appears he was primarily using voice. I have to imagine there's a way to see the spawning of these items, but I don't know what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Im not" No one said anything about any accusations, The way he was talking in TS was jittery and nervous like he had been caught. You wouldnt steal your clans vehicles and fuck around with them when we were JUST raided the day before and trying to set shit back up." None of this was ever said and i didnt die. LOL you guys are so sad... This is the main problem with dayz right now.. admin hoarders who think their camp is unfindable.. No one even told me there was a new camp because i have a thing called a job and i can't be on 24/7.. People can stumble upon vehicles you genius.. Also you would think if someone was hacking they would have seen the people setting up this "trap"... That's how pathetic this whole thing is.. you can't even come up with a believable story. I confronted them in teamspeak about being kicked and all i got was snide sarcastic remarks.. "OOOOOh so you just happened to stumble upon our camp" Cik's remark. "I think you're esp hacking dude and i think you raided our camp a week ago i thought you were cool dude man dude" Maps remark... Fuck it admin close this thread i'm not dealing with these morons anymore.. I just recommend noone plays on US186 because the admins are tools

To lazy to log on my main (IcEy) Lithium i actually liked you dude, you helped us get a few cars back up and running after we were previously raided. The reason why you were banned is because we believe you or your friend were ESP hacking. Along with script killing Cik. For all the people whining in the thread, OMG ADMIN ABUSE SEE, THIS IS WHY DAYZ SUCKS, PEOPLE ABUSE. lolno. You do not know the story, so let me fucking tell it to shut you kids up. This is going off memory from 2-3 weeks ago Our camp was raided after we stockpiled a lot of shit. The people blew up all our vehicles, crushed all our tents, and even spread out some gear on the ground all over (jerry cans and such). We tossed it up to server hoppers/hackers, because why else would someone just blow up all the cars? Rather then take them. They would of took our two dirtbikes, our UAZ offroad, we had an ATV, would make no sense if someone from our server would blow it up, theyd steal it for themselves. So because of this, we set up a temp camp with the V3S and a motorcycle and maybe a bicycle and a tent or something near skalka(sp?). They did not know where the new camp was, only a few of us did. So Cik and Nasir camped the spot for a couple hours just shooting the shit and watching the camp to see if the hacker that hit our camp would come by and take our shit or destroy it. Low and behold, they see two people running directly for the vehicles that are in two different locations and hidden. The two people were Morpheus and Tank. One being lithium that was under an alias in his own clans server. Keep in mind, we liked lithium and he seemed like a good guy, and we let him wear our tags and hang with us, its not like this was his first day in the clan. So they run directly towards the vehicles and take them, knowing FULL WELL they are the clans(we told people in TS we had found the V3s again, and a motorcycle and were making a new camp). So map kicks them to see who they were and to see if they would come back, as we suspected we had a mole in our clan. They come back and try to take them again, and map kicks them once more. Lithium joins our TS and tells Nasir that he keeps getting kicked for some reason. This is when they have a convo and Nasir asks him why is he (lithium and his friend, also his friend would pop on our TS once in a while to play with us), taking the clans vehicles when we are setting up camp. Lithiums reasoning is that "We just happened to stumble across the camp" "Oh we were just gonna drive them around, we wanted to go have some fun".Nasir asks him, How did he know where the tractor camp was, and the other camp? Lithium jumps the gun and says "What do you mean?? What do you think im ESP hacking or something? At this point they werent banned yet, we werent going to ban him just because he was betraying the clan. We simply banned him from TS. Cik, a member of DES, killed both of them(or maybe it was just lithium, I dont remember), at which point lithium left the server, and the only people on the server were Nasir, Cik, and Tank. Tank goes to a different camp that only map and cik had known about, and tried to take the shit over there. He runs right to the tractor and gets killed by Cik. Death message goes up and everything. About 45 sec-1 minute later, Cik randomly dies, and is in TS saying, Uhhh i guess my character just had a heart attack because i just randomly died while laying on the ground. Nasir goes to check the script logs and sees that Tank used a script to kill him. That's why you and your friend were banned.

My friends and I were talking about this a while ago. With the amount of snipers now, the chances of you getting blown up on a public server are huge.. but oh it would be so much fun to do. (No worries, we only blow up vehicles not in cities, and we chase them, on foot, and would never do it to a transport bus). Maybe if the server admin but something in their welcome message about a transport bus being on it?

Hey, I managed to fix up a truck, and I drove it deep into the forest to park it when i logged out. It was in the middle of the night, so was pitch black - i couldn't see the truck after i got out, so just lay down next to it and disconnected. A couple hours later I rejoin the server, and the time is completely different - still night time, but not 2 hours after i logged out - i think there was a server restart. Someone told me that occasionally your vehicles/tents don't respawn again on server restarts - i think that may be what happened, as i doubt anybody could find it deep in the wilderness in the pitch black of night. Anyway, if that IS the case, is my truck gone forever, or will it spawn again on the next restart? Thanks.

Vehicles can not show up on certain restarts. It happens at least once a day on the server I play on.

Me and a friend were on the server UK6379 and we managed to gather quite a lot of stuff, as50, dmr M4a1 cco sd and we managed to fix up a v3s truck. We were driving up to stary and half way there we decided to make a camp. we saved the vehicle and stored some of our weapons and ammo in the tents and truck and then logged off. We tried to go back on about 20 minutes later and the server was locked with two people on it, the admin MrMadakey and someone else Maddog_30. this went on for about 4 hours untill it was unlocked we logged on and all of our stuff was gone, the v3s was stolen and out tents were flattened by a vehicle. I think they are locking the server and going around stealing peoples vehicles and raiding camps whilst they have the server locked. It is now currently locked with the same people in and this happened two days ago so it seems they are doing it again

For the first incident, people could have found the vehicles and taken them but didn't save them so they returned to where you hid them after a server restart

The second our snipers die we would be alerted and leave in our vehicles, and even if were killed there would be so little loot the only reason for it would be the thrill and doing so is likely you would lose gear that we would use to trade with the next people !

I'm in posession of a very nice truck full of stuff that I "liberated" from it's hiding place in a tree by an empty tent. Hidden vehicles are rarely as well hidden as you think. :beans:

The helicopters don't target vehicles so it's likely someone is just doing a much better job of hiding them. I found a VERY well hidden UAZ with a full complement of weapons and packs the other day and "liberated" it. (Sorry to whoever is missing all that stuff LOL) I doubt it would have been visible from the air or any road. It was deep inside a clump of trees that covered the roof entirely and it was an accident I saw the empty tent sticking out of the tree beside it that got my attention.

Aye, i will check the area when it is light again, but in future i will not get too attached to my vehicles ;D Lucky i took everything useful to me out of the truck before i DC, just incase this very scenario happened xD
