Thanks, I'm a shining example to people like you who cry about gear that they probably duped anyway. The one positive thing about hackers is them destroying vehicles, and allowing them to spawn around the map rather than having someone hoarding them all for absolutely no reason. Learn what an alpha is, cry if it's still happening in the full game.

We've lost two camps bigger than yours, and multiple vehicles to hackers. And none of us are that mad or crying about their YouTube "fame", because it's an alpha.

    5 loaded tent locations

I really don't get the hate for posting camp locations. Grow a pair and stop whining about losing gear or learn to hide it better. Do you kill people to loot them? Do you do your best to deny rival players good equipment? Are you claiming that anytime you kill someone you don't leave them and tell no one where the corpse is because it would be unfair for the person who might be running back to reclaim their gear? No reason why the OP shouldn't take what he wants then tell everyone else the location. Meta-gaming it through the net is the same as if we had radios and he broadcast the coords. You'd still need to know how to read a map to find the location AND you would be very much aware that others were also on their way. Your super secret uber camp location isn't. My first camp went a week without being raided and I was actually surprised it took that long. I lost a bunch of nice guns sure, but they were in my tent because I didn't have a single clip for any of them. I moved my vehicles away from the camp, and since then, my tents are secure, even if my vehicle hunt is an ongoing process.
  5. Username: Chinaman Server: US 1561 IP: 76.72.166.254 Hacks: God Mode, Teleport, Spawn Vehicles A hacker spawned in on Cherno sniper tower. I shot him 10 times in the head and he continued moving around unfazed. I called him out on hacks over the mic and he denied it, jumping off the building to prove it. I heard the bones crunch, but it took his character at least 15 seconds to die. (Turned off the hack.) Minutes later, a black SUV came strolling through town, driven by Chinaman and his buddy. I ended up killing them, only to be greeted by a Hatchback not even a minute after. He was in the drivers seat once again. My group decided to log out in fear of losing our gear.

  7. Name: Sean Hamilton Age: 22 Skype: [email protected] Steam:(Optional) CanadianKryptix Location: North Carolina \Experience (how long you've played): Have been playing for like 3-4 months, extremely knowledgable on pretty much all content of the game. Have had experience will all weapons at some point or another and have repaired and collected many vehicles on certain servers. I play frequently and am looking for a squad to play with regularly that also knows what they are doing are how to play the game well but can also have fun. You can reach me at [email protected] or on this forum if your interested at all. Thank you.
  8. Hey guys. So I've been reading this forums since I started playing, but I never really took the time to register. I just wanted to share my thoughts regarding some aspects of the game that I've formed an opinion on. I want to state ahead of this, that I've read the threads on why Arma2 is the way it is regarding hackers and whatnot, and why a lot of things just can't be changed by Rocket. I accept that, and I know that some of the things I'll say can't possibly be fixed until the game goes standalone. I love DayZ, and this isn't one of those "omg im quitting game sucks" threads. I work on a development team for a relatively successful game modification (not Arma2 based) myself, so I know how mods run into these kinds of limitations. So this is really just a gathering of my thoughts. After playing for this last 2 months, I've played in a variety of ways. Most of it has been aimed at banditry, but the style of play has varied. I've trekked around the map on foot, avoiding players, surviving off what I can find. I moved on to living outside of towns and avoiding them, using helicopter crash sites and deer stands to sustain my weaponry needs, even though I barely used them. I later ended up with more players involved, and we formed camps, did battle with what was possibly a cheating clan, lost vehicles, regained vehicles, etc. But I haven't encountered any real hacking so I haven't felt that frustration personally. 1) Kit Inflation is really hurting the game. I saw a thread about this a few days ago and I don't think the majority of people agreed with it, but I thoroughly agree with the poster. End-game kit is way too common these days, and this isn't due to the amount of spawns. The natural cycle of kit being lost and found is completely out of whack due to the amount of duplication and script-spawning of weaponry. Back when I started, I must have been one of the first people to find an L85 AWS. It wasn't on the wiki, only a couple of threads mentioned it and virtually everyone thought it was hacked. Now, I find that nearly 50% of the people I kill have one. This is just a single example (I would argue that thermal probably shouldn't be in the game at all), but it goes for most top-end weapons. End-game kit is too easy to come across. You don't loot towns, or the airfield, or even players if you want to avoid the risk. Anyone spending 30-60 minutes to avoid doing that, but the problem is, why would anyone disadvantage themselves against all the other players who do this? Until a time in which duplication is no longer possible, I honestly wouldn't mind if there was a total reset every 4-6 weeks, to keep the vehicles and weaponry levels cycling properly. 2) Chernarus has too much wasted space. This leads from my last point. The 2km boundary around the map where people form bases is really bad for the game in general. It keeps players out of the main gameplay area and just stagnates things so much. It's just an area for high-level kit storage and vehicle hoarding. It's not really what DayZ is about. But the fact is, you can't blame people for it, the option is there, and you can't expect anyone to put themselves at a disadvantage. I know the map won't be changed because it's an Arma2 map, but if in the standalone game things can be changed, I would like to see an island map, or at least the wasted space made use of, with the map boundary being up close to points of interest, so that people can't hide there. 3) This is arguably my most controversial point, and one I feel people will disagree with the most. This might not be as much as a problem as I believe it to be, as it could very well be point #2 causing this, but I feel that the ability to hunt animals and fill up bottles from lakes doesn't really enhance the game, and the game could be improved with this removed. People should be encouraged to enter towns, to take the risk, to encounter players more, not to hide in the forest avoiding all human contact. You can argue that this is a survival simulator, but it is a game. With any game, if you give people a less-fun, but more "sensible" option, they'll take it. But if people had to go into towns, I feel like the game would flow a lot better. I had a character live for 6 weeks by avoiding this kind of thing. But did I have fun? Not really. I've had more fun cycling through my last 5 characters in a much shorter timeframe. ---------- EDIT: In later posts in this thread, I've tried to clarify that I've really put my point across poorly with regard to hunting. As stated in my later posts, there are ways around the problem, it's just that they aren't really possible with the current Arma 2 version of DayZ. Ideas such as your hatchet blunting over time so it has to be replaced, it taking 2-3 minutes to cook meat (added risk of being seen), requiring water purification tablets to drink pond/lake water, having limited matches or lighter fuel. The problem is that people can avoid entering towns entirely and sustain yourself, rather than a problem with the ability to hunt. If people had to visit towns for survival supplies every now and then, then the problem wouldn't be there. Apologies for putting it across poorly in my initial post. Please read my latter posts in this thread for further clarification. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/60384-my-thoughts-after-2-months-of-play/#entry577133 http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/60384-my-thoughts-after-2-months-of-play/#entry577226 http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/60384-my-thoughts-after-2-months-of-play/#entry577344 ---------- I have a load more points, but I don't really want to overfill my first post, as it's already past the point of TL;DR for a lot of people. But just give me your thoughts on these matters, and I'll add more if people are up for discussing things.
  9. Me and two freinds are looking for two more players to form a group. We hope to be setting up a camp and finding vehicles in the next few days. You must be 18+ and have had played DayZ for atleast a month ( not hard to figure out). Add me on skype at zac.mikel

    Vanishing Vehicle?

same here, also had an old bike turn into a motorcycle after restart... vehicles disappear, dont save, move suddenly, reappear broken... Tents dont get me started. Fixing this kind of stuff should be #1 priority for next patch. It's annoying as hell, makes vehicles pointless (time spent / benefit ratio too low), and the fact of being effectively UNABLE to store items anywhere is highly unrealistic, despite realism being (according to Rocket) the cornerstone of this mod. FIX IT !

Oh boy, stole a total of 5 vehicles today with a huge group. D: Fun times...
  12. Hey all. My friend and I are in need of a vehicle ASAP. We don't really care what it is tbh as long as it seats atleast two and isn't a boat. So to you people with vehicles for trade: What do you want/need in return?
  13. 20 pages when all it takes to realize is that, virtual lives have no value, yes in a real life apocalypse zombie or not, for the most part the chances of you being in your home area is probably pretty great unless you travel every day, so there's that, your not likely to go around, at least initially, gunning down your neighbours for their cupboards full of beans and spaghetti hoops, in most cases finding a person that isn't a zombie (in a zombie apocalypse) would be a godsend, in game your not going to be spending the rest of your potentially short existence with anyone you meet, you can barely communicate with them and making friends in a 2 or 3 hour play session is not something everyone is willing to do. if you chew on all that, yes DayZ is a deathmatch, what did you expect? .. now go log into your favorite mmo, /w friends list, 'hey ppl buy dayz and group up with me so i won't keep getting out gunned' .. and its no longer a boring solo gank fest. the only way this was going to work is if ppl outside of the game group up, it does happen in game, although its grown a lot since its inception the community has reflected the fact that it really isn't a desolate world populated mostly by npcs with a penchant for zigzagging, but a myriad of different worlds populated by loot hungry FPS gamers who like to mix their FPS's with their RPG's 2 genres with usually high personal goals, get lewt get kills get epeen etc etc. i think ppl should keep throwing ideas into the suggestion forum, there are many things that could be added to the game to spice up the PVE and make the game not all about the PVP. instead of penalizing ppl who want to PVP make real incentives for grouping up and partaking in group PVE. if there were certain tasks or objectives that can only be accomplished with 2, 3 or more players, grouping up suddenly has value. especially if you know where something is and you have no current group. (vehicles are a good first step but this concept should be expanded upon immensely. they are far too sparse for them to be considered as an incentive currently.)

    In search of a vehicle.

Aye I've managed to find quite a few 'vehicles' myself. I've found three boats, two tractors, and a bicycle. :P The bicycle is quite fun tbh but I need a two seater. I'll be there in 10.

  16. I'm DN Lucy, admin of US 1485. Let me clear some things up. First of all, we've had a serious issue with hackers spawning in helicopters and other guns/vehicles on our server. It's been a constant and uphill battle from day 1 of buying our server. The chopper you guys found was NOT legit (we have the legit one stored elsewhere in the map, and yes, I checked to make sure it was there before issuing the kick) I saw you guys flying around, since you were the only ones in the server at the time that weren't in our teamspeak or friends of ours, it was obvious you guys were the ones flying it. In order to ensure the safety of our server (and our investment), I KICKED (not banned) you. I even tried to do this while you were still over land (although I think you may have respawned near the docks in Elektro) Please understand my point of view. Whether it was you who hacked it in or not, all of us are at our wits end with hackers on our server, it's getting pretty bad. Either way, I apologize if this caused any inconvenience to you, and if you add me on steam, I can see what I can do to compensate you for any losses you may have incurred. My steam is phonix247420. Long story short, I didn't kick you because you stole our helicopter, I kicked you because you were flying a hacked in helicopter during a day we were being bombarded by cheaters. Edit: For the record, I was aiming at you the whole time with my AS50 and NATO rounds. I could have easily just shot you out of the sky and killed you all. Instead I gave you the benefit of the doubt and kicked you so when you respawned you'd still be alive. I wasn't aware you were carrying a third person or I would've kicked them too. Second edit: Oh and that pbx, not ours, we put that on the coast for noobs a week ago because you know, we're nice like that.
  17. Well you may remember from previously in this very thread - we're banned. So while your tears are entertaining - they can in no way pertain to the current case we have against your admin abuse. I don't understand whether you're insinuating it was us killing you today and in some kind of insane back-to-the-future way we deserved those bans or you're just trying to vent? I'm glad you took your death like a man, great, you're not one of the many TG members who've disconnected on us. Either way, you've still abused your admin privileges in banning a competing clan from your server. Had you bothered to research any of the threads you just posted, you might realize how desperate and/or overzealous you're coming across. Thread 1: The admin ADMITS to being wrong and banning EVERYONE from the server because he misinterpreted the vanilla arma script that launches when you press 'p' in game to bring up the playerlist. Thread 2: Yes, as I mentioned before: we previously had something of a guerilla war against you guys which we found enjoyable from time to time - we recently stepped that up. I don't get what thread number two adds to your argument? That we've previously had problems with you (admittedly in that case allegedly) abusing admin rights? We came right out and owned up to it to stimulate a bit of competition between our groups and your first reaction is to ban us. Nice, the plot thickens. Link 3: Is a direct link to a post from the first thread simply proving the assertions I made previously. See Thread 1. Even ignoring all this bickering - you STILL have allegations of illegitimate blanket bans to address here, which you're pussyfooting around. You banned EVERYONE who had the poor luck to be on a certain teamspeak, because a small number raided your camps, plain and simple - or maybe you'd like to post the logs from your server (which may I point out BigEazy got banned from 1114 on the strength of erroneous logs - so if we were hacking on your server you would surely have the same scripts in your logs?)? Would you like to make any allegations? You still have yet to give us so much as a reason. Maybe it's because we play entirely as legitimately as possible on your server? We do not ghost to positions of your camps and jump in to ambush you, we do not ferry your stuff off the server - we set up our own camp on the server purely to have fun playing against you guys on a level playing field and we do not move your vehicles off the map - we believe you recovered some such as the hilux and tractors before we were even banned. You can cross reference all of these statements with your server logs and members - our average play session on your server had to be upwards of 4 hours at a time, plenty of time to catch us with our pants down - as indeed you did on a few occasions and yet as soon as you learn our identities it's a blanket ban. TL;DR He's entirely avoided the question and is trying to sidestep the allegations, making attempts to fabricate proof to defend the ban. We were rather ironically banned for 'not playing in the spirit of the game' for taking their stuff. TG memberbase is in sore (no pun intended) need of some
  18. My friends and I found a huge campsite on server US 150. This server belongs to the clan =DHD= and their campsite had tons of tents and vehicles. The first night, Tuesday July 24th myself and a friend were caught stealing from their tents and sniped. An admin message "Hows it taste to fail?" appeared. To retaliate, I later stole some vehicles. The next night, Wed July 25th at about 920-930 pm I was camped with a .50 cal near their tents. =DND=BanHammer, one of the admins showed up in a truck and got out of it to go to the tents. I sniped and killed him then ran to steal the truck. About 30 seconds later we all got the message "No message from server for xx seconds". He clearly raged and reset the server trying to roll back. The server remained down for several hours. The next day when trying to log on I was banned along with one of my friends. We played fair. US 150 admins from =DHD= do not. Just putting this up to give fair warning to others who enjoy robbing campsites. AVOID US 150 (not US150, there is a space between US and 150!) Crybaby admins will ban you for outplaying them. Also, a side note to clan =DHD=: Enjoy the work of my other friend who you didn't ban. He counted 36 tents destroyed today by running them over with a tractor that I stole from you.

  20. I was teleported to a bunch of vehicles, and things and there was this guy who was invincible. he shot me and killed me :( and then everyone was teled including my friends. What was going on why did this happen?
  21. I have several questions about where to place tents: How far away do people normally place them away from loot / areas-of-interest? 1km? 2 km? 5km? Do you need vehicles to make use of tents, because they need to be placed so far away? What types of items do experienced players normally play in tents? Guns? Ammo? Only rare items? How much room do people normally have in their inventory when they make scavenging runs? Enough to fit a primary weapon? As always, thanks for the help.

    Server shutdowns

So I had gear on three servers. Tents. Weapons. Fucking awesome weapons. Ammo. Vehicles. Figured I'd spread them out around the place, you know? Not put all my gear/eggs in one camp/basket. Logged in today after a mass kill wiped out everyone on another server I was on, and the server browser returns no search results for each of these three servers. All three servers are gone. And so is all my shit. So I'd just like to say a big go fuck yourself to all the server admins out there who like to think they're doing people some kind of a favor. You're not. Die. In answer to the It's just gear, get over it. If you don't like it you run a server yourself. This mod is meant to make you wish assholes mothers died of cancer. u mad bro? I'd like to say http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YmAWC2E2HFI/T9rw3lx6ztI/AAAAAAAACRQ/0iXAxioqhoQ/s1600/fuck-you-guys.jpg Between the hackers and the disappearing servers, what the fuck is even the point of this mod?

    Norway 33 admin abuse

We don't even have the bus we didn't even check the camp believe me or not since we made a mistake we thought one of you was hacking you have to understand that your friend dying to zombies very quickly after his first death and at the same time the other gets shot was a misunderstanding we thought you had teleported back because we didn't see 3 people so if the bus is missing I have no idea where it is because we abandoned that camp and vehicles not sure why I'm even writing this because its not like you will believe me
  24. Marine (DayZ)

    Dayz - US 1370

Well to start this off. Myself and a few others I play with. I wont state names. We usually roll together and help each other out. Complete strangers that met and didn't trick each other so we could end up killing each other like most on this game do. I am fairly new to this game, about 3 weeks in... My few member team manage to find ourselves a Ural. So we put ALOT of time and effort into filling this sucker up with all kinds of weapons, items, and nice goodies. My buddies got off so I decided to take a stroll to Stary while there was only a few people on the server US 1370 early this morning. Well I had my hunting rifle, G17, and I dropped all other gear off before I left so I could do some LOOTING! I show up in Stary a good 45 minutes later, I heard some shooting going on. So I busted out my range finder. Spotted a few others who did not look to friendly. One happened to be sitting by the vehicles by the tent only about 300 meters out. So I zeroed myself in, lined up the shot and shot him in the neck. He quickly started spewing blood. His partner definitely didnt come to his rescue. He booked it out of there and didnt even make an effort to find me. Poor guy, cant rely on other bandits. Out for themselves. Well about 5 minutes after I hear a chopper in the air and he starts making rounds. This catches my eye, "hmmm there must be more of them". I quickly make my way up the hill and keep my eyes open. I catch a glimpse of a man in the forest who also spots me. Stryke who has an AS 50 vs my CZ 550. Then my eye catches another with a machine gun. Oh boy, got my excitement up now. Your coming to hunt the Marine Sniper? lets play! They search ALL over the top of that mountain for me. Even taking random shots into the brush. Then they fire to try and get me to pop out, but I am patient. I wait for the right opprotunity. Aha! there it is. Looks like he is busy checking his gear standing in the worst spot ever, top of the mountain on the ridgeline? WHY?! Well, I couldnt get a clear shot laying in the brush looking uphill so I went to crouch mode, scoped in fired one shot just when he moved, clipped his chest blood started pouring. But he didnt move right away, must of been checking his map or gear.. ok here is another for your head. BANG! He quickly died from the 2nd shot. His buddy that was helping him search booked it out of there. I gave a momentary salute to the bandits the attempted to kill this Marine and then left. I came back about 40 minutes later. The chopper still making his rounds I tracked his coordinates and directions once again, then all of a sudden I hear a vehicle approaching. "Jeez how many teammates do these guys have?" "A Ural? Theres not many of those on this map, that cant be mine". I find the dead body i shot earlier. "ahh thanks for leaving me the AS 50. Just what I need to shoot the chopper out of the sky." I left Stary and booked it back to my safe zone where my Ural was. But when I arrive hours later It was no longer there. They left cooked meat on the ground where it once was. Like a slap in the face. "Very well, you took my hard earned effort I will not sleep till I find yours." It only took a few hours of running through hills and dense forest. I came to a mountain top where you stashed your Helicopter Dred. It is mine now. Maybe Ill keep it in running condition or maybe Ill crash it on purpose i havent decided yet. I heard it takes 7 days to respawn it. Hmmm I want my Ural and all MY and my teams gear back. You have 24 hours. Then I make my decision. :-)
  25. An axe in the back for the community. Hackers are ruining DayZ. Whilst I am sure they think they are amusing (like the little turd that boned me to to tonight) others are just out to cause trouble. The effort that has gone into building alliances, camps and securing vehicles means some of our guys are spending 12 hours or more day upholding the game makers intention. Teleport spawn hacks Invinsible player hacks Weaponry outside of dayz appearing. It's not like a round of bf3 where the hacker kills you a few times these "people" wipe out weeks of players efforts for what? How much stuff can one carry? Why keep doing it? It's ruining the game and I just won't play it if I even so much as suspect a hacker. Side bar messages. Blue on blue messages. FF messages. Messages about player locations popping up. Youve got your work cut out Dean. And I apologise for the post I was given a warning about.
