Just watched two hackers duke it out in cherno, I had a pretty good view of things. So i hear a truck honking its horn and I take fire at it with my DMR it speeds off past the supermarket and up to the cabin on the hill. OUT OF NO WHERE a car pops up beside the truck. So I take a few shots and then they all jump out of their vehicles and start pumping round after round into each other at pointblank range. I kid you not they were like two feet apart and not even flinching at amount of rounds being taken * I even pump a few rounds into them * Both vehicles then exploded and the two still go at it like NOTHING HAPPENED. I said fuck this horseshit and logged off. Now im going to watch battle royal and sulk .

I suggest there be a new item which is quite simply a coil of rope. It has the same spawn rate as Camping tents but only spawns in barns/agricultural spawn locations. Naturally, it sits in the toolbelt. Toolbelt: Allows you to pull vehicles.. Very very slowly but surely. This is so when you are driving a vehicle on low fuel and you run out in the middle of the road, you can pull the vehicle to the treeline to hide it. Allows you to hogtie unconscious players. When hogtied, a players view is almost like being prone and the unconscious meter still empties but when emptied the player still cannot move. Hogtied players would be able to have their gear looted as if they were dead. They would still be able to be dragged, or perhaps carried. After 5 min (The time can be changed. Please tell me what you think) the hogtied player gains the ability to "struggle free" by pressing the action key. Doing so would free them from the rope and they would be able to stand up, similar to regaining consciousness. Any player may "Retie bonds" to reset the 5 min timer or "Untie Bonds" to let the player free. Allows you to bind players. Binding is like hogtying in the way that it disables a player but only their hands are bound. They may still walk, run, step over everything. They may not manage their inventory but they can view it and view loot on the ground, just not pick it up. Players get the ability to struggle free after 10 min of being bound. Unlike hogtying, you may bind players from any position. Bound players may be hogtied at any time, regardless of stance. Binding takes the same amount of time as combining mags, taking painkillers, eating, etc. Your player is a competant military officer and they are able to tie someone up fast. Rope up an animal. Roping an animal would loop the rope around the animal and cause it to follow the player that roped it. There is no particular reason for this but there are lots of possibilites that could be implemented later like procreating animals, hiding an animal until you may gut it or even using a cow as cover. It opens up a lot of possibilities. If you have any feedback, criticism (of the constructive kind) or further ideas, please comment.

I just ran into a major base with various vehicles, including a bus and tents. I was specifically scanning that area for tents because Im low on Stanag SD clips. Got my clips and found one of the trucks had 2 AS50TWS'. I thought there was only a standard AS50 in the game, but not sure. Ive checked the wiki and a few other databases but cant find it. Is this weapon legit?

We did save EVERYTHING. Even trashed all the vehicles, AND saved them afterwards. They still bumped back to their original positions with all the loot in it.

Maybe I should have mentioned it in my previous post, but I did in fact experience the same thing as so many of you that posted here did. Logged out near the NW airfield yesterday, because me and my buddy flipped an ATV going too fast over a bridge and wanted to wait for the server reset. Needless to say, if you spawn on the coast afterwards, it's definately annoying since, as you probably know, vehicles can be hard to come by. So am I "compassionate" about what's happening...? Ofcourse! Doesn't change my opinion about the bulk of the posters here. The "universe" comment still stands. The "I want it! Right now, dammit!" attitude is still displayed by a majority of the forum members here. That...is what strikes me as childish and silly. By all means, continue to do so...it's what this forum is partly for. And we all hope that someone reads it and takes notice. However, I can guarantee you, yours and everyone else's comments and suggestions will be taken a lot more seriously when drafted in a less abrasive and sometimes downright insulting fashion. Or do we really need to include a fuck, shit or douchebag comment in every post we make, in order to make our post stand out from the rest? I'm afraid that, on this forum, it's the other way around. Apologies if my earlier post rubbed you the wrong way, fella. -
Save it, save your vehicles or they will NOT be there after a server restart. It's crucial atm. Oh and tents don't work at all atm.

Well, we only got 1 kill on the enemy group, though they definatly were searching for us. However, we are completely sure, that we saved all the vehicles, even the ones we trashed after the last restart. Yet now, they are in their previous spots, good as new, with ALL the loot still in them. No manual restarts right after. Was after a good 6 hour period.

I found a pickup truck and a tractor a few days ago. Sometimes the loot would stay in the vehicles, sometimes it wouldn't, and sometimes it would reset to what they had in them two server restarts ago, and sometimes it would have old loot I'd transferred out into tents, and the new loot I'd put back in them side by side. I stashed them away and log back in today and they have disappeared. I'm assuming they got stolen, but I've had tents empty themselves and refill randomly and vehicles disappearing only to reappear later. I have no idea how to prevent it, or what causes it.

Hey, I'm basically looking for a clan or a group of people to team up with. I'm 18 years old, I play the game seriously but like to have fun too. I am only interested in teaming up with people who are already geared up and ready to go (and who are experienced in the game). I have been playing DayZ for over a month now and would class myself as a skilful player, I know all the main loot spots, how to repair vehicles and how to move across the map undetected by other enemies. Played for about a month, looking for a friendly clan. Solo gets boring and while I often find people to play with, I have not been part of a clan yet. Why a clan? I want to play with a lot of trustworthy people and I want a place to park vehicles. How hostile I am? I'm paranoid as hell, I will likely shoot on sight or run unless the clan discourages that behavior. I prefer first person only servers and I really like night time. I wish night vision was removed though. Anyways, my favorite Day Z weapons include the Lee enfield, M107, M240, M249, M24. Good weapons I can't tolerate: Most AKs...omfg I hate those iron sights. I'm on US east and I prefer to play in the evening and night.

Update - Havent respawned on the beach the last couple of times I have logged in, I have tried limited my logins to a couple of reliable servers to hopefully minimise this. Glitches are still there, seems to be a lot around tank traps too though this could be a result of something close or behind. They really are bad though, worse I have seen. Ammo count seems to be working fine however one glitch encountered was with the axe, when I logged back in the axe was empty and could not be 'reloaded'. I had to put on belt and take back off, reload it again and it worked well. One other issue that is happening every time I log in is that my kill counters are all reset to 0 each time. My humanity starts at 0 each time as well however I am still wearing my 'hero' skin. Logins time vary and im starting to think this might be more a server issue however I did come across a server today that logged us both in very quickly, insanely quick actual. Script #185 keep happening to everyone on one server I was on, it came up and booted everyone back to the login screen, someone said it was a 'safety kick' so instead of an insta death it drops you out of the game and protects you, this was nice once we understood what was happening. Our home server hasnt updated yet so we havent been able to log into it all weekend but when it finally does I will be able to test the vehicles. Zombie pathing seems to be smoother and looks more realistic, good job with the zombies. Hero skin looks great, does anyone know if the females have a hero skin as well? or is my partner evil to the core ?:) Thats my update for now. -
I know this has been suggested before. I am saying it again! Reset EVERYTHING. Vechiles Loot Player positions Make it a brand new test, you have over 1mill people playing now. Sure there will be hackers spawning in stupid shit becasue they have no lives. But the vast majority will play right. You say you have fixed the tents not saving, bullshit we have multiple tents all not saving. Vechile inventorys are not saving either. This comes from someone with shit loads of gear, 3 ATV, 1 Truck, 1 Jeep and a red car. We have more guns than we use even after big firefights. The only gun I pickup after a new spawn is winchester becasue it rocks. Now its becoming boring we had a chopper spawning in on ANZ 3 but never saves and is always broken, sweet we had something to do, fix heli and fly around. Every 4 hours the Ausarma server admins auto reset the server so we have to hunt for parts again, awesome a mission. Now the chopper is broken in the sea no way to make it respawn or not respawning at all. Now all we do is go to electro/cherno and kill anyone we see, why? Because we have all this awsome gear and nothing else to do. Whats the point in finding more gear that we cant carry all the time and cant put into tents because they dont save. We have most of the shit we do because tents/vehicles arnt saving right. Even IF the complete reset doesnt fix it at least we have more to do we actually have to go and find chopper spawns or go to the NW airfield. The other thing I would suggest is that all server admins go onto youtube and get yourself some hacks as soon as you see someone hacking use YOUR hacks to contain them then ban that bitch, make these idiots send MORE money to BI.

The halos are stupid. I see them on veteran servers too. Sometimes zombies/animals are white, players are green and vehicles are red. WHY do we even have the option?! Horribly immersion-breaking. -
i think that server admin doesnt care at all because i still see the graveyard of vehicles ad chests with all the loot in them

i want to disrupt the dominance of large groups. the worst thing is if a large group member dies, he can easily be rescued from the coast and get his gear back, hence defeating the permadeath mechanic. i would like to see one ultra bad ass, cloaked, and horrifically destructive zombie, permanent for each server, who travels towards the longest survivors, the largest groups, the highest murderers, and locations with many functional vehicles. i think predator should automatically destroy all the loot from its victims (dealing with beyond permadeath rescue) and should he fall in battle, offer a not unbalanced reward, like an arm mounted self destruct that it triggered when you die, or maybe temporary infrared vision if you eat "predator" meat. if only one per server, should be rare enough. forces large groups to stay on the move, or if setting up a base, to suffer anxiety for it.

theres really much around actually, but so many "hoards" the vehicles, just go up north and follow west then south, usually find 3-5camps with EVERYTHING like as50 nvg ghillie and such. i also find 0-7 vehicles :) Good luck the hunt

Simple solution to the whole thing. Vehicles are moved back to their original location 48-72hours after their last save. 72-100 hours after their last save they are reset completely (cargo wiped, and repair reset). If you are unable to save your vehicle at least once every 3 days then you have no need for it. If a clan is active on the server then saving their vehicles that often is not a problem, but this will solve the problem of scripters, and troll clans gathering up vehicles on servers they don't play on actively. -
I was elated when I happened upon a camp to the west of the NEAF around 2PM CDT today. There were several tents and a couple vehicles. After looking around for snipers I entered the camp hoping for a shiny new as50, and boy did I find one. Actually, I found several, some of which had the name AS50 TWS. They also had about every other kind of weapon you can imagine, though I didn't see any other weapon types that shouldn't be in the game. There were also several satchel charges in the tents, so I put one of them to use. Instead of the AS50 I had hoped for, I snagged a satchel charge, jumped in their pristine offroad pickup, and ran over their tents and into the other vehicle before setting the satchel charge on a timer and getting the hell out of there. I didn't get to see the explosion, but I did get a satisfying kick for script #55 that sometimes accompanies exploding vehicles. I don't expect that will slow them down much, but it was worth it even if it just annoyed them. Could someone look into this please? I love the game, but spending hours hunting for a lousy AK seems kinda pointless if assholes are just going to spawn this crap into the game.

I still get artifacts sometimes. The Flush seems to more reliably resolve them, but it's not perfect. They also appear to be more frequent when it's night-time in game, but don't have enough data to determine if that's related or not. I installed by copying and replacing all of the DayZ files. ARMA2 and Operation Arrowhead were not freshly installed. I also have found that tents and vehicles do not seem to save their contents past the initial save, so every time the server restarts all of the items placed in after the initial save are gone. I hope that helps.

Definitely happening on our server too. Things worked perfectly in 1.7.2.4 but since 1.7.2.5, after a server reboot vehicles revert to their saved position (and contents) as of wherever they were with 1.7.2.4 Tents do the same thing. New tents can be placed but they will not save any contents at all even after a reboot. Our server is running: Dayz 1.7.2.5 HIVE 0.7.3 Arma Beta 95883 We have also experienced the report of vehicles swapping spots with each other like Tobosaku said in his post. -

Hackers, and the state of the standalone game?

Yeah I don't get it, majority of the NZ servers are now unplayable due to hackers, the longest i've gone this weekend without dying a hack related death was about 5 hours. And due to there being such a small server pool for us down here, the hacker to server majority is quickly getting out of control. During today's play, i've died to hackers using godmode scripts, insta kill scripts, teleport, invisible, just about any imaginable way to die, a dude even spawned a truck on top of me and drove it around with god mode on trying to run me down. Last night we even had 2 vehicles stolen from us while we were driving them, This has occured on NZ - 2, NZ - 3, NZ -6, NZ - 19, NZ - 20, and im going to go ahead and assume all the other NZ servers. I might go back to ANZ servers, but i'm going to assume it'll be the same there. So yeah, the atmosphere is gone, i'm keen for the standalone, but if that falls to hacking too, it'll be a sad end to such an amazing idea.
