What music do you listen to while playing DayZ, if at all?

I don't. I really can't. Listening to music would drown out the sounds of gunfire, movement and vehicles. If I could, I'd listen to my small collection of rock and techno. -
Suspected explosion hack US 1360

Similar thing happened to me that same day on that server. Loud noise and then I was dead. I have been playing on that server for about a week now and that is the only time that has happened to me. Today I logged in and my friends and me lost everything in our tents and our vehicles were gone from our camp. Someone may have found our camp by luck but it's unlikely. Grrrrrr....DayZ! -
With regards to the white car, yeah, I stayed up rather high and directed a couple guys on the ground to grab it and go. As for the tents, server is a bit buggy as with others, some restarts they just disappear with all the vehicles, other restarts they sometimes duplicate and place themselves in weird spots. It's not really a consistent thing but I seem to have just fixed most of that issue with restarting twice in a row. However with that camp I did take a bunch of stuff out and then scuttled the empty tents that were duplicated.

Hire this man. I forget what its like to play with permadeath, since all I have to do is respawn and head to my tents/vehicles and rekit again. Tents you own should be destroyed immediately when you die. Vehicles should only be able to store Jerry Cans. -

i havent and still dont get the vectoring or anything like that, just the little black blotches off in the distance. obviously i dont know the difference in configuration for all these systems, if there is a way to pinpoint this (why i dont get them and others do) i would be happy to provide any pertinent information. i also spawn on the beach every time, no matter what. i only connect to servers that (claim to) match my versions. yesterday i was watching elctro under a tree in a sniper suit, hearing gunshots down the hill the whole time. "(name) was killed" was pretty constant. couldnt see anybody. i saw one zombie aggro, then stop. then i started getting shot at. didnt know what it was at first, the guy couldnt hit me. was just single shots, like a semi. i just kept hearing gunshots then some strange noise that i havent heard before. after 5 or 6 shots i realized i WAS getting shot at and he must have been hitting the tree? what a retarded sound it was. i was able to get behind the tree, the shots stopped so i ran up the hill and did not stop running. a few seconds later all of a sudden i got blasted by a fully automatic weapon. the only way this could possibly happen in this situation is if dude teleported, or could run at least 4 times faster then me, judging from the distance he couldnt hit me and was using semi. i also know the terrain here, you cant just run up the hill that was below me. i never did see him. i dont care if i die, but if you are a shitty shot and this is the only way to get me, piss off. this was not legitimate. -things will be different in stand alone-so what? stand alone is a ways off. i cant test a game if i cant do anything. there are some bugs that will not be found without proper testing, and with people teleporting themselves around, thunderdoming, starting half the map on fire, fake guns, and pretend vehicles, only the most obvious issues will be found. i guarantee there are issues that have not been found and wont be, because of these things. i cant believe there is no way to either stop or catch people when they teleport, seems pretty elementary to me. wouldnt take much... this is something debug forest should be for...

Give him time, it is sunday afterall most people don't work on sunday. If he is doing stuff today he'll get you setup. Elpis is a great host and Tyler is great at doing his job. I just wish vehicles were spawning. It's been like 4-5 days since we got our server and still no vehicles spawned.. Rockets secret changes and crap to the game are getting frustrating as hell. -
Vehicles constantly vanish on my server after a restart. We've only found a chopper twice and been able to fix it up only for it to vanish when the server restarts. Most frustrating, we do save them as well. It's got to the point where we consider vehicles useless now and the next chopper we get we will just use for lols shooting fresh spawn noobs on the beach while playing Vietnam tunes like Fortunate Son over direct chat because it will vanish the second the server restarts.

1.7.2.5 Tents and Vehicle Inventories not saving.

Same thing here. 99% of the time we are losing entire vehicles, their inventory, and the tents inventory. Server just restarted about half an hour ago and moved all our vehicles back out, even spawned in a weird bus with some soda in it where we logged off last. Hope something happens soon...... -
I think i got the same problem I raided a camp took a pick up truck a bus and s1203 when i came back to the camp i saw the other people stealing/moving the cars to a difrent camp, couple hours later I restart the server and gues what the only vehicles in my camp are the pickup and the spot where the bus was standing is now a bycicle, i drive back to the camp I stole it from and all the vehicles are there even the ones that those other guys stole + another pickup with the exact same gear as my pick up. some other dudes on my server report the same problem with the uaz and the ural evry server restart they just spawn back on the place they got them from. Also the heli was blown up and I've read some where that it spawns after 7 days, I've been checking skalisty and skalka and other spawns on the wiki evryday without succes, are the vehicles bugged in dayz atm is it my server, or is it a hacker?

Me and my team of three were driving in our Old Hatchback back to our camp, and I notice one of my mates getting banned. Next thing I know, I'm banned too. We weren't hacking, cheating, or scripting. I suspect it was an admin by the name of TonyP because we broke his legs, got out, and executed him the day before. We've been accused of hacking before because we had Ghillie suits and 2 vehicles. We were cruising along the coastline to our camp and without a warning or anything, banned. Can't really post evidence because well, we weren't doing anything worthy of fraps, and the only thing it said was that I was banned. If we can get unbanned that would be great. Our ingame names were Vilapickle and Frijoles Bandito. EDIT: My friend logged out before he got banned, and the admin is indeed TonyP. He was mad that we killed him, and started making stories that we were using Hacked Weapons and Teleporting. Friend logged in under a different name so the admin wouldn't ban him. This is the reason the admin banned us. TonyP - "We made a vote based on gut-feeling and the chat logs, and from that we banned them." EDIT: Most likely not admin abuse, just admins who dislike having evidence before banning.

DayZ is not a military simulator, it's built off one though. I do know how big a .50 cal round is and how devistating it is I do know that they're also for taking out vehicles. I am a firearms collector, not some kid who learns everything about firearms from COD and Battlefield. I also realize this game is meant to be harsh, as stated in the original post. I was not asking for it to be taken out either, merely trying to encourage a decent discussion between all of the hacking threads. Now Mr.Smartypants, please read my original post before you get all cheeky again PS, I gave you my beans so you see this post.

IDK if you know or not.. but your NOT allowed personal or private servers. Thats the point. A FAIR gameplay for everyone. These admins dont realize that Rocket and the Dev team only accept about 25-30% of server hosting requests. They do not NEED you guys and this game has an advantage w a private server SO YOU CANNOT DO IT. Its very simple but some people are using unreasonably low pings to create them Thats perfectly fine for you guys. I filter half the time by day or night then by player count. Im perfectly happy to play w 150MS -250MS of ping.... Its not game breaking ive been playing shooters since '92 and 200MS isnt too hard to cope w. 150ms is negligible and anyone who says they know the difference betwen 50ms and 150ms is a fucking moron YOU can play @ 60ms but I AND anyone else who wants to should be able to play at 150-200 (200 may be voted too high but under 150ms is too low). The reason for this Is it creates a server where only a select few can go on. This is bad for 2 reasons 1. The hive doesnt distinguish between 5 player servers and 50. So that lil low pop server is EATING DAY Z COMMUNITY RESOURCES. 2. This allows these people to basically 'pay' for free gear. they set the parameters so low that it dwindles the server pop. It will rarely reach a medium population at that and allows in off peak times for near isolation to loot and save whatever gear or vehicles they want and do as they please ^2. is game breaking. As they then can PVP without a problem and affect other players game play IF you cannot understand this or argue against it you either short sighted (re read try to understand) or an abuser (fuck you) -
Well my clan used to be ANZ 5 regulars (hosted by AusArma.org). Then the entire server got hacked so bad that it went down for days, and when it came back up, our base camp and vehicles were gone (ie, gone by having to reset the server) We tried going back to it after it came back up, but it went down again shortly after. I really feel sorry for cm. and Freebourne. Having to manage an entire server reset and still having issues after must be a pain in the arse.

Same thing happened to my clan this morning. We have a camp hidden away with several vehicles as part of our collection. Although we had more at one point, last night we had the V3S, an off-road pickup truck, an S1203 van, a tractor, and a bicycle. When our members came on this morning, they were shocked to find none of our vehicles there. The strange part, however, was that some of our vehicles had been replaced. Specifically, the V3S was transformed into a bus, and the off-road truck was transformed into a dirt bike. These two new vehicles were literally in the exact same spots that the previous ones were. Exactly. Additionally, all of our collected gear was no longer there. However, we decided to check one of our old camp spots (we are nomads and frequently move our camp) and we found all our vehicles there, in the exact same condition as yesterday morning or 2 nights ago (including the gear). So now we have a bus and motorcycle to add to our collection at least. The saddest part, then, was the unfortunate luck of having almost 2 days worth of loot disappear :(

@Boneboys - Don't worry, was an honest mistake. I tried to see if I could delete my posts, but it wouldn't let me clean them up. In other news, logged into US 166 today and saw this message: Welcome to the Thunderdome Guns are in the big ass crates behind the tents Fight to the death UH1H will spwan in 5 minutes. All vehicles were gone, and the texture pack on the server was different. Only trees, no grass or bushes. Anyone else see this? -
Did you know that the .50cal was designed to stop light armored vehicles and take down helicopters. Did you know this is a military simulator? Did you know that if you happened to get hit by a .50cal round it would tear you in two, or remove the limb it hit. Its one hit kill for a reason. A 600+ grain round is enormous. But I guess you don't really know fuck all about fuck all except your own opinion. Now that you know plenty about.

Prologue We're a bunch of guy just playing as a group for the first time last thursday night. Me and two others meet at the NWAF. It was like 22:30 on the server and almost dark with good moonlight. Low pop (less than 10 other players). As we wander down to Stary Sobor suddenly I notice a bus parking on the north side of the well known Stary Sobor Sniper Hill. I am alerted and wanted to check the area for the owner but one of my mates isn't that concerned an just jumps in the bus which is in good enough condition to drive. So we just jump on board too and drive off awaiting the retribution of whoever parked it there but nobody seemed to care. We drive around randomly for a while, just enjoying ourselves as it's the first time any of us ever drove a vehicle in DayZ when some other mates come online, mostly spawning at the southern coast somewhere. So we drive down to pick them up. At Cherno the headcount is six. We decide to get medical supplies at Elektro hospital by just driving in front of it and filling up the bus. Then the guy we picked up last starts Fraps... Language is German. There wasn't said anything important though. ^^ Part 1 to 3 nothing special happens. We just maraud Chernarus more or less randomly, picking up car parts and stuff and celebrating our luck. Then we go up north to Stary Sobor military camp and loot that. The guy Fraps'ing leaves his character in the bus an goes to have a leak and make a cigarette run while some of the other guys notice some broke down cars right at the camp und manage to fix one of it. So we had a red Lada or something too. While they celebrate I notice another bus right in the middle of the hill next to the camp. I check it out and it's fully functional. That's when our Fraps-guy comes back from his piss break an can't believe what has happened while turning his back on us for five minutes. :) That is when part 4 starts...and we got ourselves a convoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAPRrdgYU7o Disclaimer: None of us knows how to hack and spawn stuff. We just figured those vehicles probably have been spawned by some hacker who just didn't care much about them and there would be no harm in enjoying this experience. In the process we lost the red car (just vanished, disconnecting the two drivers) and the first bus (got stuck in some roadblock). We tried to hide the last remaining bus but did that lazily due to the fact that it was 4:30 in the morning and some of us had to go to work in a couple of hours. Of course it was gone as we later checked.

Hello! I am Dxeani and I am dedicated gamer. I have played all kinds of games and I have ended up playing dayZ. After weeks of playing, I have encountered some problems and annoying things.. I decided to share few of my suggestions here in the forums (because I cannot actually contact the man himself :P). I have a lot of suggestions in my mind (and few written up).. I may end up writing all my suggestions in this thread with slow pace (from small ones to big ones). I felt inspired today and decided to quickly write these few up and share'em.. So expect to see a lot of typos and weird sentences. Weaponry M107 (AS50) These rifles are way too common in the world of dayZ compared to other sniper rifles in the game at the moment. These sniper rifles are extremely powerful anti-material snipers, which means that they're meant to be used against vehicles (= means that you won't be encountering these rifles commonly). Almost every sniper you meet ingame, they're wielding anti-material sniper, which is really odd. Lowering the chance of m107 or AS50 spawn would make a lot of sense. It would increase use of other sniper rifles in the game. (I am aware people are duplicating these rifles, but they also have "high" chance of spawning compared to their rarity in the real-life. Weapon statistics Not sure, if you can effect these at all. Handguns Currently handguns are extremely underpowered, especially makarov, m1911 & revolver, because they deal no damage against zombies or humans. Reducing zombie health would counter the pistol damage nerf, but the problem lies within Player Versus Player scenarios. Currently people with mid- and lategame gear are camping cities for kills, but new players or just respawned players cannot fight against people with main weapons. Either increase damage of handguns, which would solve PvP and PvE problems, or decrease the health of zombies. (Currently it's smarter to use hatchet to fight off zombies, since at least it can one shot them.) Melee weapons Crowbars damage is extremely low for non-tool only-main-weapon-slot weapon. Currently you need to deal 1-6 shots to a zombie to kill him, which is crazy for melee range weapon. The damage needs to be increased to 1 shot (or max 2 shot) zombies. Also maybe increase the drop rate while decreasing hatchet chance a bit. Equipment Wire Fence / Toolbox Increase the chance of toolbox spawning near wire fencing kit would make sense. Currently cities or good loot spots are blocked by wire fences, but you don't exactly have a easy way to take them down, since toolbox is quite rare. I am not talking huge increase of drop chance, but a slight increase at least. Finding toolbox near areas that contains wire fencing kits would make sense, since people who usually set wire fences up also want to have equipment to take them down if something happens. Consumables Water Bottles Water bottles are currently pretty much useless, because finding a coke or pepsi is super easy, since every house has high chance of having those and even zombies have chance of dropping them. So, you can easily just do a small detoure to get a soda unlike with bottle, you have to actually find a water source to refill it and till you find water source, it just fills a slot of your inventory. Solution A: Decrease the chance of getting a soda from zombies, residental and industrial areas. Even though sodas are popular in pretty much everywhere, the chance of finding these drinks ingame is extremely high. Solution B: Making soda only partially remove thirst (= You would need to drink 2 to kill your thirst completely [Drinking soda doesn't exactly give the same effect than drinking water would.]). Solution B would make it worth it to carry water bottles, since you could actually kill your thirst completely and still keep the container around for refilling. Beef jerky Lack of beef jerky in this game is surprising, since beef jerky can be stored for long time and it contains high amount of protein. In other words, it could be rare (higher chance in stores) consumables that would restore high amount of blood to the player (Either 800, which is same amount than cooked meat or 600). At the moment, lone survivor has no other mean of getting blood himself than cooked meat. This would resolve the issue a bit. Also it would be logical, since it can be stored for long periods of time, it's easy to carry 'n' munch + it can be found in every market. Villages & Zombie spawns Currently you have problem invading some smaller cities and villages if your weapon is loud, since you aggro the whole town after you. This is a bit weird, but nevertheless logical.. The problem is within zombie spawns. If you shoot from outskirts of town/village/etc, you keep aggroing the zombies and while you kill them.. killed zombies respawn and re-aggro to your gun noises. In other words, you may end up fighting never ending waves of zombies. Currently, you can solve this by either fighting your way in to stop zombies spawning near you or flee into the wilderness. I've found two M107's from helicopter crashes. In fact, this is the only sniper rifle I have ever encountered in the game other than the CZ550. This thing is too powerful. I hate using it. I wish I didn't even have it, but until I find a decent assault rifle I'm stuck with it (I only swapped out my AKM because the game glitched my only rounds of AKM ammo into oblivion...coincidentally, an hour later I found a magazine of AKM ammo...in a barn). Honestly, I would prefer to rely on my pistol (since the M107 takes up so much of my inventory I don't even want it anymore and won't mourn it when I eventually die) but they keep nerfing the pistol. @Zeromentor A sucking chestwound from ANY bullet will eventually kill you. It's why we have bleeding mechanics instead of straight-up damage. This is not a reason, this is an excuse. The damage tables for a .50 caliber rifle are just too damn powerful for this game compared to the other weapons and they seriously need to be nerfed. Realistically, the .50 caliber weapon should be only a little more dangerous to an unarmored human target than a .45 caliber handgun (or even less dangerous considering how .45 caliber JHP handgun bullets perform) within the effective range of the handgun. Realistically, you should only be able to fire that .50 caliber weapon from a prone or supported crouch position. Realistically, the M107 should be a series of sacrifices you make for long-range, reliable stopping power. Realistically, the .45 caliber weapon should do more damage than the .50 caliber weapon to people, animals, and zombies at a maximum 50-75 meters but the .50 caliber weapon should do more damage to vehicles and armored targets at a maximum 1.5km and go through one target and into the next and even through brick walls in a straight line if the first target is soft enough. Unfortunately, what you instead have is a .45 caliber weapon that does less damage than just about every weapon and a .50 caliber weapon that does more damage than every other weapon when the real difference is how far the bullet goes and how deeply it penetrates. Guns statistics now go up in a straight line instead of you having trade damage for range and fire rate. So now there's always a better weapon and never a weapon that serves your needs. (And lasting shockwave trauma from bullet velocity is a myth unsupported by ballistics science.) Flattening bullet damage is one of the easiest ways to prolong the longevity of the game while maintaining levels of danger for all of the players. If you have two teams of mixed combat potentials, with only the shotguns and handguns having reliable stopping power + accuracy, the snipers will have dominance at range but can't be guaranteed anything more than suppression and the advantage of surprise. If stray 1911 and revolver bullets can fuck up someone's day, every action will have a high risk/reward no matter how well-geared you are.

How to remove wire fence and sandbags

there's no real way to completely remove them ( unless you dont restart your server that is, then it's possble ) , well there is one i know of, but most people probably wont approve of it, that is changing the name of your server the ( IE : countrycode , for instance your server is named US9999, you change it to US 9998) it will completely wipe out everything off the map including saved tents and vehicles. but changing the countrycode/server name back to what it was before will revert it back as if you didnt touch it. Also dont try to remove a wall / layer of fences,traps, barb wire, or sandbags that are tightly placed together, there was one instance where i tried to remove one, it look like someone shot me, ( even though i was the only one on the server ) like a car crash, you get hit with 10k damage, shocked, bone broken and bleeding after trying to remove a layer of traps. -

Hello, Looking through the log files at that certain date I had found that Scotty G and Cookiez were NOT spawning any items. I am sorry for you and your friend. Those two players must have stumbled upon those vehicles. The hacker who was spawning lots of vehicles in 1479 was this guy. I don't if no one else can but, great nav skills in vehicles, great shot (used to be in a DoD clan), great at finding vehicles at both spawns and where people stash them. Scenarios Questions: Answer with complete honesty and not just one sentence. We are watching B) 1) You're in base along with another member, and a group of three approach camp without showing signs. How do you react? Kill them dead immediately if I see them first, otherwise take cover and cause the fight to go on as long as possible. 2) You're the Squad leader of the Assault team Alpha and your running across a field to gather Intel on a enemy position and your team is fired upon and two men go down. Whats your first order of action as squad leader? Go prone probably although I would never lead a squad through a field without serious over watch. 3) During a OP in cherno you and your team come across a survivor with broken legs asking for help. How do you respond? Shoot him dead if I have a silenced weapon, otherwise he gets the hatchet.
