Testing it today - so we can say: that vehicles are spawned id < 12000 what is with saving inventory after a restart of server / saving position / saving type of car?

Pure luck that we found you last night but it was awesome. I was walking back to the group when I stumbled into the firefight that you were having with the other squad that was up on the hill. Didn't know who was there at the time so figured they had seen and were shooting at me when I saw the vehicles you guys turned up in off to my side. Hid in a tree whilst you were still shooting at the other group and called in WHAT21A & Strip who were nearby - think at one point there were eight of us within that small area (you three, three of us and the remaining two of the other group). Knew where you guys were so just got WHAT21A to flank you while you were focused on the other group, he picked you all off one by one. Seeing Xinoth and Tyrgrim spin round from shooting the other squad to try and get eyes on WHAT21A when you went down was quite funny - really wish I had recorded it.

Uhm.. Glad you know where you spawn i suggest running back to the east? It's a bug don't complain game is in alpha ohh wait did i say game i meant mod. Chill the hell out and give your character some exercise why not see if anybody hoarded vehicles over there? Camps or stuff like people always do.. i actually found an atv when i spawned in debug land

Can confirm we got vehicles on DE1608 now. If they would only save inventory and position / repair status then i would be a happy puppy. Oh, and they do it transformer style after each reboot. Van transformed into an Pickup.

I have 2 survivors, this guy the 32 day one, has seen his fair share of hacks, Like I lost my M107 to a hacker taking everyone's backpacks, I was spanned in the air (ALT F4 FIXES IT), 3 vehicles lost, and then my group and camp was wiped by a nuke when I was not on, so I basically had a M4 with some ammo, and then when I did get killed we lost 4 vehicles, totalling it to 7 vehicles lost, friends all died, I died, tents gone, 2nd time I lost a camp in that life from a nuke and 7 vehicles (One was a huey) and then other things that happen to me on the other survivor.

The problem isn't with our server, it's all 1.7.2.5 servers I believe. Tents and vehicles (specifically them saving to the hive after a restart) are bugged in this version, so we rolled back to prevent losing the consistency that these two elements bring.

When server admins rollsback a server i presume he has a limited time to do so.. Server rollbacks that you are experiencing is NOT a mechanic of the game, its a flaw (If a server admin is quick enough to do a reset of a server vehicles will be restored to their last save position etc) But not all servers have admins online at any given moment, if you read my suggestion you would know that i don't even want to see this power in the hands of admins, because YES then it would be used to rollback and cheat when loosing gear to other players.

I got lucky and if you don't know, when you get Telleported somewhere, if you alt f4 the syncing screws up, so yes in that 32 days I came across being teleported, vehicles stolen, friends killed (I was not on the server when the nuke dropped), and been over run by goats.

Day Z without zombies would be a slower clunkier version of a console FPS with a shit load of unnecessary aspects. If PVP is the only aspect then there's no reason to get vehicles, no reason to get great gear, no reason to carry around anything more than cooked meat, coke, and medical supplies. Everyone would just pick up a weapon and mindlessly kill each other. It would get old....very fast.

Well I think I'm done with DayZ. I was excited when I heard it was going stand-alone so I could buy the game and have hours of fun with it but n ow thats all changed. I ran into a hacker who was right behind me when I logged in...He laughed and killed me. The end. I really liked this game but to know people can rampantly just teleport around with god-mode has turned me away from the game. Since the initial incidient I've been being almost hunted by this hacker consistantly after I tried to plea to him for my gear back. He follows me into every server I'm on to destroy all the vehicles and tents now. Fuck this game. Sincerely, an Enthusiastic Gamer TLDR; Hacker made me quit the game and changed my mind about buying DayZ once it comes out.

Hi guys, Found a bus, i've been hearing that vehicles glitch out upon server restart and you cannot save them, is this true/is there a way to save? Also i found 10 SVD mags in the bus. Free to anyone who needs em.

Completely agree on this. Coming into this game as someone who just happen to have arma 2 and decided to try it out after hearing about it. The learning curve was ridiculous...even when I knew the basic controls from arma! What you said stands, the learning curve is ridiculously stupid off the coast. But as you get experienced, even just a month or so in as I am. You begin to see that curve take a nose dive, you can avoid it by limiting how many tents you use, not hoarding vehicles, and avoiding duping like the plague... But purposely gimping yourself against duping bandits, asshat hackers, and Shoot on Sight clans/groups/survivors/friends leads to you saying "Why the hell am I still playing fair when no one else is?". It's really sad that the community hoards 10+ vehicles to all corners of the map and uses them as inventories just to have them. And dupes because they can. The only way to beat em is join em...and you may ruin the game for yourself by doing it, such a crappy situation.

Had a very successful night meeting new people and running around through Stary lolz. Have to clean out my shorts when the three of us realized there was a fourth person running along side us trying to chat through direct chat. Holy crap talk about a very awkward moment. Any ways he tagged along with us on the way to Stary Sobor to meet up with a patient, but had two buddies that he was suppose to meet up with as well. As the four of us are running through the woods we hear a car honking, turns out its the fourth mans two buddies. One driving a car and the other on a motor cycle lolz. Nobody shoots at each other and we all head to Stary together. We were the only 6 people on that server and for the first time nobody died lolz. Anyways I link up with the patient after changing servers cuz things got really awkward in Stary with the vehicles driving around and all the flares thrown around and stuff. God I love this game, there's so much crazy stuff that can happen and the stories are endless. This medic is signing off for the night, gotta wake up for work in less that 3 hours. Thanks Day Z for another sleepless night ;)

I can see why people wreck others camps. Its not that they are being dicks all the time.. I consider it.. denying the enemy. we have chosen to abandon vehicles before.. so, do we leave it on the road? fueled up and ready? hell no, take out the wheels, and put some rounds through the engine etc.. its a survival game.. you dont just get handed stuff, having a camp is a risky business. its not so you can create an untouchable stockpile. so whenever you die, you can refill as if nothing happened. denying the enemy of his stockpile is perfectly legit gameplay. (on your own server) but being a server hopping D bag.. well, thats just stupid.

FYI SOC clan server does not have a ping limit as it is ment for australians and the server is not ruled with an iron fist, we wont be hording vehicles nor using and admin power (or lack there of) to create an unfair environment.

Really, this is the only server I play on and we are a legit crew. But we are always getting server hopped or hacked upon. All of our vehicles are legit, and tonight our helicopter was shot down by an AS50 on the shore. I have yet to see anyone with a clan tag starting with an N. We seem to be a target of hackers these days due to posts like this posting our exact location and what we have, so thank you very much. I didn't post this in the server reporting or cheat reporting because I don't have any proof, but this is just a general warning about server US 1040. There's a couple of admins hacking/teleporting around on US 1040. They set up a "colony" which has a ludicrous amount of spawned in vehicles at 114078. Me and another guy decided to raid it. I killed three of them, there were 2 left. Then suddenly 2 more guys appeared in front of me, then another guy the hill adjacent from me and started shooting at me. One of their names was FUCKYOASS and the other ones had clan tags that started with an N. I immediately aborted. I just posted another thread the other day about admin abuse, and it looks like since no one is taking steps to do anything about this issue, the only thing that I as a player can do is warn others about corrupt servers; so avoid US 1040 if you want fair gameplay.

How did you find out peoples names on a no name tag server? None of our admins hack, I can assure you of that. None of the vehicles are spawned in, I could let ANYONE watch me save it and run a restart and they will still be there. Most of our regulars have been playing together BEFORE we hosted US 1040, and when the server went up we went vehicle hunting like anyone else would. Like you said, no proof just butthurtness. Would you happen to be the guy that used the 'lock' script on me when I shot you with a DMR?

I like a lot of those Ideas and I would like too see better vehicles more variety and no helicopters depending on map size. More things to set up a base or buildings that players can fortify just enough to make it hard for one player to raid a groups camp

My friend and I visited the colony this evening (although I saw none of what you describe). I approached unarmed, I was met and asked my intentions, and I explained I was there merely to see what they'd built. I was told firmly (but not rudely) to keep away from the tents and vehicles. Aside from a lot of artifacts, things were fairly uneventful. We had a look around and were escorted away without incident. As we left, we did see a heli spin up and fly away. Oh, and some kid with a soldier skin being creepy. I do question how the "airstrike" video fails to show you infiltrating the compound... almost like you had simply appeared there. Posting the whole video might corroborate your story further. Anyway, nice camp and nice effort guys. We'll be back to bring you some of the items we discussed.

We have just as big of problem if not bigger then yours with hackers because the hackers think it's fun to troll us but none of those vehicles are hacked we even fixed up the heli unfortunately it was shot down today but the others we lend out and let people use. Maybe instead of being a bandit try joining us and trading with us we suffer from the same problems and hackers you do.

Use the hatchet or something to harvest deployable bushes that can be used to hide tents and vehicles, or whatever else you wanted to hide.

So I guess to keep it short for the reader I'll stick to a general story, and start it right away... I was in Elektro's school getting supplies and hoping for some trouble, as I'd had great gear already. List of some gear: L85A2 AWS + AKS-74 Kobra + G17 Ghillie suit + Coyote Backpack Night vision + Range Finder + GPS/Map + Ect... So I'm on the second floor patio and I see/hear an Old Hatchback drive by in front of the school towards the West fire house, so I stay low and keep an eye out. Two players come running towards the West side of the school so I zoom my thermal and fire away taking one out as the other comes to close for me to see any more. I get in the doorway watching the stair way in case he enters for a sneak attack when I hear rapid gun fire at my back. I was dead. (Later was told by my brother that the fire house has a perfect view of the school...) I spawn in between Cherno n' Elektro and decide to hopefully get my loot back. As I'm running towards/into Elektro I hear & see a helicopter hovering over as explosions go off all over the town but not rapidly. I still run as fast as possible to get in the action. ( with no weapon x] ) I get to the school and all that is left is rubble, as for many of the buildings in the town. The chopper is gone, so I head to the fire hall where I see the guys that had killed me left two vehicles in the garage of the fire hall, and I also notice they were all bomb to death. I loot the three bodies ad tons of zombies keep swarming me, and grab the ATV to help move quickly to gather loot before the Zeds get to me. I end up getting it stuck on a light post so I ended up with the Old Hatchback full of gas, n' fully tuned up. I drive off into the sun and later get attacked just barely getting away with my life, while way up North with no gas station the whole 30mins+ of driving. Gear acquired: M4A1 CCO SD + AK-74 Night Vision + Map + GPS Ghillie + Coyote Backpack + Ect... Nothing special... This was 2 days ago now so I don't remember the clan that was bombed or their names. I was also suspended for 3 days from the forums so that didn't help either. Any ways just a little fun story. Just one of those, "Can't believe that happened moments that makes DayZ oh so great!" This place is a fucking death trap... plain and simple. No matter what your intention was for this "colony" to be at the beginning, it is far from that now. When I had taken my journey there, with 20-25 people on the server at night.. I had been picked off by a l85 thermal-whoring bandit. (Which was to be expected) I simply re spawned and ran back. Second time I was there, I had CLEARLY made it obvious that I was there out of pure curiosity, stating that I am friendly and I am here to trade and barter, through VOIP and direct chat. No responses yet I manage to die from a DMR. My third and final trip there- I had finally reached some of the tents inside and managed to look around, which there were no vehicles, but plenty of tents. As I continued to loot some of the tents and check out the gear, I head some silenced shots inside the compound. I slowly approached the player from behind and took him out noticing he had been shooting at me. As I went to loot his body, 15+ satchel charges went off and I died from an unknown cause.
