No one took it because I abuse my rights as an admin and lock the server Weve had the chopper for over a week and used it multiple times, its back where it was last saved, along with the 6 other vehicles weve got parked up. So lesson to anyone, always save the vehicles when getting out. I hope War Z isnt as much as a pile of shit as Day z

Vehicles auto save location when you exit a vehicle, saving only has to do with any gear in it........when everything is working that is.

If you're the admin of a server, I see nothing wrong with checking the vehicles on the server data to see if there is still a UH-1H in there. And if there is and it's not where it should be, I also think it's perfectly acceptable for you to go download some mapping tool and figure out where it is, how it got there and how to stop that from reoccurring.

Server-restart resets un-saved vehicles. Its either on its spawn or someone took it.

Sounds awesome, but things like this never really work out. But I guess I could be an engineer if you guys need me. 20+ hours of flight time in the UH-1H, AS50, and a love for destroying vehicles - got about 30 vehicle destroys currently on this life.

Intersting concept and very good suggestion. It certainly would encourage team play more as it would mean that not every play could do everything, i.e. fly, survive the wilderness, give medical attention, be profficient with all firearms, repair all vehicles, therefore it would mean you would need a team of players who were useful at their particular "trade" in order to survive long term in an orgnised fashion. Maybe these traits could be also aquired over time or expanded by finding various books or maybe even traded between alive players. Again it wouldnt exactly discourage "kill on sight" but it certainly would reward team play and co-operation.

First Kill was when I was showing this game to a friend. While looking for vehicles and passing by the Lighthouse inbetween Cherno and Electro we suddenly noticed a ghillie suit guy with a L85A2 AWS. I only had an Enfield but it I wasnt willing to take the risk of dying without a fight. I shot him once, he turned towards us and I ran. I circled around him and downed him with another shot, then I closed in on him and empty'd a makarov clip into his head, just to make sure. The loot was worthless, he had the gun but no ammo for it, so with pain in my hearth, and lack of room in my backpack I left. My second kill was in the Electro Factory/Firestation. I walked up the tower to look for weapons and on my way down I encountered a guy with a handgun and crossbow. He started shooting but luckily his aim was worthless. I rushed down after emptying a full G18 clip and switched to my AK. When he came down, I sprayed the doorway and finally got the chance to bandage. Due to lack of food I had to live with 6000 Blood, but when I left the fire station I was shot. I died. Kill number three was in the next life, I found an M24 and decided to try to be an annoying-bitchy asshole myself. On the roof of the docks I noticed a fresh spawn. Considering him innocent I decided not to shoot him, but when he came out of one of the building, looking me straight into the eyes and throwing something towards me, at that moment I thaught it was a frag, but it was a flare. I shot him in the head and watched him falling down. This kill I regret the most, as he was harmless and this was a douchebag kill on my side. The fourth was after I came down from the docks building and went to the supermarket for some food. A tent was right in front of it, ITS A TRAPPPP, but I couldnt resist checking it out. A Lee enfield was inside, and I decided to gtfo from there for my own safety. However, a freshspawn walked up to the tent aswell and I tryed to communicate with him. He ignored me. Suddenly I remembered the Lee Enfield and decided to shoot him with my .45 -Safety first. Soon after that the sniper who set-up the tent got me. Karma. The fifth was when I was raiding stary sobor tents, A lot of artifacts appeared and I decided to go to the treeline to log-off and log-back on, hoping the artifacts would have dissapeared. They had. I moved back to the tents, and just when I went into one tent I noticed a survivor checking the tents aswell. He didnt notice me yet so I decided to wait for him to move out of a tent. When he got out, I leaned and shot him, but for some reason he didnt die, I probaly missed or didnt do enough damage, he came close to me and I emptyed another clip. He died, I died. Thats my first five kills. This is how I became a bandit.

Yeah the medic crowd is doing a good thing whether the statistics are truely in its favor or not. But other than helping other people out, its a good crowd to just chill with and run missions for as an extra gun or storage to help haul medic and other gear. Sort of gives you a purpose even if you dont do the medic work itself. My goal is to help the medics by getting vehicles in running shape and giving them away so they can quickly help others. Plus its hilarious driving around in groups, you have so much fun and even if you die its entertaining. I destroyed myself last night in a tractor by running into a rock...i LOL'd. somehow i managed to stay alive as my health declined from 12000 to 486 and stopped bleeding for some reason. Im back to full life, but my tractor..its not so good of shape :)

Exactly the same with our server, however, when saving certain vehicles, they turn into something else. For example, the Ural always turns into a bus, and the bicycle turns into a motorcycle. We have a Host Altitude server. So it sounds to me like maybe it is related to the hosts, possibly. With regards to tents, we set up camp on 1.7.2.4 - everything we had in the tents during that patch is saved everyday. The same items reappear after server restart. However since we upgraded to 1.7.2.5, we cannot save any additional items placed in those tents.

hope we can pull off smth like this when vehicles and tents are finally working :3

This seems to be the case with all vehicles. If you save the Ural, it turns into a bus. If you save a bicycle, it turns into a motorcycle. The heli on Skalisky Island ALWAYS disappears and respawns unrepaired. Seems like they need a major overhaul on the vehicles. With regards to tents - if you take equipment out of the tent, then save the tent, it will NOT respawn. The key is to not save the tent after you remove items.

yea and the server in question is private, i have a little eqiupment but not much, when i get more im hoping to get some one in then log in myslef hand it all to em.. just a thought really the server i am on there is a bandit group that hoards the vehicles lol..

at 8:19PM australian western time i logged into dayz sanctuary arkbox in this time i heard two people talking about changing the server from night to day for themselves, after this they spawned vehicles then one of them teleported.. arkwolf the admin of the server told them not to do so, then the hacker threatened to hack into his gear and strip him of it.. i listened and heard that arkwolf was recording the incident on fraps.. the hackers name was whiteboii, he was closely consorting with another player by the name of rhyz but i am unsure whether he also hacked. i hope this helps thankyou Edit: this was a private server, but it might help keep an eye out for this player if he hits up a hive server..

The AS50 weighs like 30 pounds. Not quite "immense." They do not require 2-man teams. A spotter is heplful but not needed. They are also used very often to engage human targets. They are capable of engaging vehicles but that is not their sole purpose. Many .50 calibers are deployed against human targets. More encumbrance features would be nice, and less accuracy while crouched, and maybe even some setup time but lets stop throwing around ridiculous and asinine misinformation for the sake of supporting the argument, okay? Just say "They're bulky and take time to setup." That's all you need to say.

I am an admin of a server and for some crappy reason my hoster will not install the plugins that will tell people it will restart. Only the hint of BE will say "server restaring in x seconds" and that's like 20 seconds before restart. Also on the previous update it gave me the same, had the server restart every 6 hours, server just restarted on me. Not saying that what you experienced was admin abuse, just saying it happened. Also I agree with Eatskittens on the fact that tents and vehicles are currently bugged. (No I am not an admin of DE 1307)

Here we go...another oh no something happened to my gear it has to be admin abuse post. Maybe the server just went down. Admins dont have the ability to "see" the fact that you have an ATV and drop the server to take it from you. If it is a 1.7.2.5 server vehicles and tents are known not to save. It happens move on.

I think you guys just need to hide your vehicles better. lol.

What do I propose? A very rare spawn vehicle tracker that can be placed on any vehicle. The location of that vehicle will be shown on your map at all times. What would this be used for? -Keeping track of vehicles that you or your friends use in case they are stolen. -Make sure broken vehicles are still where they spawned, or discover they were repaired and moved. -Placing on an enemy team's vehicle to track them back to their camp or stalk them. Thank you.

Although there have been thousands of topics about currency, I actually like your idea. The only problem is; you shouldn't call it currency ;) DayZ needs more different items and items should be rarer, so an economy will grow by itself. I don't think stuff like cigarets or other drugs (unless for health or boosts) should be added just so it can be used as a currency, but I'm sure it will be used as one when added. By adding more different types of weapons, and thus ammo, you'll create an economy of weapons and ammo. By adding more vehicles with unique parts (to repair), you'll create an economy of vehicles and parts. By adding more clothing and visuals (hats, glasses, etc), you'll create... I think you'll see where I'm going.

I like the idea of having these items, with an alternate use as a currency. Ofcourse, it wouldn't be pushed as a currency, but it would be useful, and abundant enough to used as such. Gee, because that's such a great system. Say, do you see much point in having various vehicles, because i mean, Sedan can do everything any other vehicle can do. What about guns? Why have more than one of each type? the rest is just fluff. Contrary to popular belief, this not actually realistic.

I generally log into one server (with my tents/vehicles, etc.) and even sticking to my one server I still occasionally get stuck at loading screens. I've been put at the coast several times by closing the game and trying to re-join the same server. The way I've been able to combat this problem is by keeping the infinite-loading game up while alt-tabbing back to dayzcommander (or sixlauncher) and joining the server again in a new instance of the game. If I'm able to get into the server properly on the second instance, I'll still be where I logged off originally and then I'll close the first instance of the game that's still stuck on the loading screen. If the second one doesn't work, just rinse and repeat. The most I've had to open at one time is 4 instances of the game before I'm able to properly load in my server, then cancel the rest. Hopefully this helps others dealing with this annoying problem.

I don't get it...where do you people have your vehicles/tents then? Probably on one server, right? So why not play on that server? Most of the people I play with, end up on the same server because of where all our vehicles & stuff are. Seems silly to me, to continuousy switch servers and have to walk 10km, when you can just as easily leisurely drive there... So, if you found one that fits your version, timeframe and has decent fps, consider staying there for a while and you'll have less of these coastal trips to worry about. Of course...if it's free serverhopping you're after...hmmm, not so good then...

I knew where you took the truck from the first time a you said you had found my camp. So after you posted about your street justice video I ran back up there and found the white truck blown up and all the tents destroyed. Really you did me a favor because that camp does belong to a hacker that keeps coming in the server. Did you bother to look at some of the contents of the tents? G36 Mags, solder clothes Etc. in them so I hope they stay destroyed. As far as finding my camp. Everyone in my squad will tell you I don't keep a camp as nothing saves anyway and as far as vehicles go I really don't care about them either. Only vehicle I like to keep if I can find one is a bike. So in the long run you didn't hurt me at all. This whole tread everyone keeps says I'm upset because you guys stole our trucks and cars which could not be further from the truth. I just still don't believe that you guys found in the manner you stated and I think you have proven my suspicions by all of your inconsistant posts. You all said that you had searched for day then you said that you were doing a grid search. Then there the hacked AS50 that you all said was in the ural when you stole it then said you all found it on a dead guy and put in the ural. As I have said before you should just find another server to play on. You and you're group would be happier sniping players in Cherno and Electro on another server. At any rate this will be my last reply to this thread.
