Today I've been slammed with hackers, enough I rolled my server back to 2.4 just to try to research whats exactly going on and this is what i've come up with. Secondly - The helicopter is a novel item - I have it placed off the map in a secure location no player would find it unless they teleport, and they always do find it and crash it somewhere causing some kind of nuclear explosion which can be seen for a good distance. Another is spawning vehicles, but for right now just limit it to pipebombs for example, any way to specifically ban anyone who uses one?

If you feel you like to be a medic or someshit then you hold everyone's medical supplys, and bloodbag,bandage or morphene your teamates when they need it. If you want to be a mechanic/engineer you find vehicle parts for what vehicles you have, or fly them. You do not pick classes in this game, you build them with your current characteristics. Also Dean said he'll never add classes, so this thread is pointless anyway. -

You cannot simply have an advantage, such as repairing vehicles or being able to heal someone's leg faster than everyone els, simply because you have a perk or you are a certain class. This is not Cod, or Battlefield. There are no classes, you start off as a survivor, and you can choose to be a bandit if you want. -

Lol, my clan just started up our own server. I think some other clan/group of friends decided they liked it and made a camp of their own. We found a bunch of vehicles in the beginning, but I think they're all being hoarded now. :( Me and my friend ran across four of them in a truck while driving our GAZ. Needless to say, we blew up the truck. -

our server works great since we rerolled to 1.7.2.4. you can save as many times as you want in tents and even blank save enemy tents. and all the vehicles stay were you put them and they save their inventory -
Sad part is DayZ is runned by hackers, like earlier today I got slammed with 6 hackers who spawned over 15 vehicles inside of a hanger. Even worse kids thinking its fun to do this and ruin a pretty fun game because they suck at it.

Only 1.7.2.4 servers will save tents and vehicles, 1.7.2.5 only saves Tents if you properly set it up. With only 10% of servers being 2.4 you are outa luck for now.

I don't think they allow it but I am keeping my server at .4 version until the vehicles/tents can get saved, rather useless since .5 does not save anything. Sad part is nobody plays .4 version, so its useless to downgrade :\ -

Hey, no worries at all, my group grabbed what they could off my corpse and we met up further down the coast. We were looking for vehicles [hence why we let peaple run off with them] and had a party of 6 or so scouting bero for supplies so we spawned a shit load of zeds in too. Was a damn nice shot though ;) -
Tents and vehicles are broken. I'm getting bored gearing all the way up and having nothing to do except kill unsuspecting players, or die, and even when I kill others I just leave their shit on the body because I have no where to put it. Anyone else reverting?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that 1.7.2.5 ruined tents, vehicles, and left the gfx bug unaffected right before the devs took 3 weeks off. -

Last new spawn I: - grabbed an AKM from the Balota ATC - Raided the Cherno supermarket for ALICE pack and consumables - Logged off in the forest - Logged back in, sent to the coast near Otmel - Hit up deer stands as I go north to the Solnichny factory - Finally find a damn hunting knife in the factory - Proceed north to Berezino, hit hospital for medical supplies - Fixed an ATV found at Klen Hill - Crash the ATV along the fences of Krasnostav airstrip - Continue North looking for camps and vehicles (current) -
A hacker by the name of :GB: Donald. it started at 11:30PM ET till 11:40PM ET, driving back from Stary sobor with a friend, we came across said hacker spawning vehicles. we had killed him as he got out of his car, while looting his body he respawned back at his body somewhere outside of elektro. my buddy had killed him again and we drove off in our bus. my buddy picked me up in elektro and as we were driving along the south shore going east he respawned inside a new vehicle attempting to kill us again ramming into our bus making my friend start bleeding, we ended up killing him again but as we were driving off he destroyed our bus when he wasn't around us! the bus broke down and caught fire, we lost all of our stuff and he killed my friend afterwards when he wasn't even around us. fortunately for us my friend recorded this things with fraps and if need be we can provide video evidence that he was hacking. justice needs to be served here. thanks for your time Ryan

Nice. Im doing the exact same thing now. I don't come across vehicles like you do though. The server I am on is a clan server so I'm guessing they are all hoarded somewhere. Not that I mind, I prefer moving on foot. -

Yeah the reason I'm on 1.7.2.4 is because 1.7.2.5 is really buggy with tents and vehicles saving and I don't like having to get everything again as respawn said. -

aite time to post up all these last screens and be done with it for good spawn: solnichniy server pop at the time: 9 (ive never seen this server before either) gather up the supplies to fix a vehicle and begin checking spawn points. V3S civillian there? Nope. Blue van? Yup and then all the adventures (dont know why this picture is so fucked up) so i start running the fields west to try and find some crash sites. upon reaching lopatino i see this in the field next to it being close to the airfield with a bike and low pop server i decide to go do a barracks run :( i forgot to take screenshots of the end of the coop char, but its still vehicles every 10 mins + crash sites -
Sooo... I've been bicycling all over the fucking map to get to our camp. Got there, fixed our vehicles and placed some tents thought everything was fine so I went to get some pizza. Came back - was dead. We were 2 people on the server; Me and the hacker named 'Maslenok'. He killed me without being there and my friend checks the camp 1 min after and he get instakilled. All our vehicles were gone at that moment and he left the server shortly after. Luckily though, I got his name at the scoreboard and made a highlight about it. http://sv.twitch.tv/...lol/b/330071643 Hope it helps. Also added him on friends to see where he's going next to fuck things up. This happened ~15 min ago. Also sorry for the language, It's swedish lol.

So I love Dayz but right now its really just a race to end game gear then what? be bored maybe drive around a little get a good spot and snipe someone that's walking around. This is something that even if it had a lot of support probably would have to be added in the stand alone. An Idea could be to add trade skills, professions, and your passed life pre Zombie apocalypse to the game for example you spawn in you get a small window that reads (Select what your character was doing per-apocalypse) Mechanic Gun Smith Medic Ex-convict Police Officer (Make a suggestion for other things these are just some I doodled down on my way home from work today) Now before your read all that I want people to know once you pick something it doesn't mean your stuck with that role maybe you could find a book of automotive repair and read it therefore you are now skilled in lets say medicine and a little in car repair. So maybe the only way to be able to start a new skill along with your current is to find the book which will be pretty rare since the spawn can be quite low (maybe because the temperature and exposure to whether effects ruined a lot of the books) However I'm currently unsure whether dieing in game would reset your skills or you could choose to carry them over. I'm currently leaning towards carrying over mostly because people would be to afraid to approach someone in town and risk getting killed and lose their characters knowledge. However on the other hand if everyone spawned new and had no current experience then they wouldn't be so afraid to die since their is no work in their character thus this would allow players to meet people and slowly build a trusting group therefore leading to a more competitive end game experience with groups of players roaming around instead of a clan here a clan there and a lonely guy with a sniper rifle. (Book of medicine) - Spawns inside hospitals (Guide to gun repair) - spawn inside Industrial places (Guide to Automotive repair) - also spawns in industrial factories (How to handle weapons for dummies) - military loot spawns maybe rarer spawns in civilian places (Memoirs of a madman)- Spawns in civilian spawns but perhaps dev's could add a jail house that could have the prisoners diaries. I think that maybe lower levels should sustain lower things such as Gun smith that just spawn cant repair an AS50 right away without a high risk of botching something and breaking the gun Medic that just spawned cant treat a shattered leg without a high risk of making it worse and possibly severing an artery cause the player to bleed to death. Police officer cant handle the big guns right away (obviously would be one of the easier classes to use since all you have to do is shoot but maybe if they added some of the zombie suggestions this character could be better) Mechanic's cant just find a car and repair the engine without the necessary high risk of completely disabling the car (maybe a more seasoned mechanic could fix this but only them) Ex-Convicts (im not to sure what theirs could be) maybe they could have a small insanity factor they would worry about their family if they had one but after awhile they could just kill people or go find a book and come to terms with it and use the rage against others. (leave a suggestion) I think this would possibly give more of an incentive to group up with people, However you would be unable to see what roll they pick that way if someone is following a group they wont be able to just pick off their medic they'll maybe have to track them and watch them and see which one is which. So it will also give more of a thrill for bandits to kill someone instead of now where it's "oh look there's some one *bam* *bam* done" and then they just move on. This would possibly help curb death matching with players where its just "someones in the grocery store better just shoot and kill them" It may not fix this but people will probably be more cautious if they see a group of 3 guys rolling around and maybe save those bullets for something else other than a Mexican stand off and try to talk the group into taking them in. If you read the entire thing which I recommend you to do before commenting just because I want this to be seriously debated and not just shot down by someone saying "No to complex" I think this is a realistic idea and makes sense that the survivors actually use knowledge from there per-apocalypse lives. -
The game is almost unplayable at the moment. Vehicles broken, tents broken, server restarts broken... Patches broken... Hackers everywhere. No support from the dev team. I play it anyway, I guess I'm a masochist.

Vehicles I wouldn't count on being there next reset, but the stuff in your tent on it's first save should be there, but you can't put anything else in after that and expect it to stay. If you've already saved your tent I would try to find a new one and stash your stuff in that and save it.

Well, if you're already running a private server that you're not supposed to have, why not add vehicles you're not supposed to have while doing it?
