This! Beans to you :) This would work better, and also not be as unrealistic. There shouldn't be a timer, just if a body has been on the floor for 5 minutes, it can't be dragged, but you can drag a body as long as you want (See my last post for more info on this). So if you set a body as a trap, you most probably won't be able to use that body once the 5 minute timer is up. :)

I like the overall idea, but I have a different idea than the "5 minute move timer". It is not realistic to be able to carry a dead body, but then it SUDDENLY gets stuck to the ground. Now, I think you should be able to move a body whenever, but there are some counterparts to it. Pros: -Can move the body around -Traps -Further body inspection (If this is in the game, "His/Her name was ..., He/She died from ..." Cons: -You are completely vulnerable while moving a dead body -The longer you are holding a body for, the slower you become, as you grow tired. -If the body has been dead for X amount of time, you have a high chance of catching a disease from it. Or something along those lines? :) Edit: Also, increase hunger and thirst during carrying times ^-^

So does that mean, if a bandit excretes or urinates in a pond, then survivors fill up their water bottles from it, or even swims in it, they're going to get ill? :D But that'd be cool. If a friend has a disease he doesn't know of, and cooks you some food, you'll both have the disease before you find out, and when you do... It'll be too late! Love it! Adds some more immersion into the game too, trying not to catch a disease! -
Maybe not he ear. I think maybe if players had like wallets/id, with a snapshot of them on it, with a name and 'survival time'? This way you can keep track of who you've killed ^^ but is it worth the risk of being shot, just to collect it? It's up to you! :D

I think it should be "Day Z" or "Day: Z" (With a colon), not "DayZ". The reason I think this, is because "DayZ" is like 1 word, but "Day Z" or "Day: Z" could mean either Day: Z - As in Day of the Zombies, or Day Z, Z being the last letter of the alphabet, so it would be like the last day, the final plan for survival. Or Day Z - The last straw The motto/catchphrase for the game should stay/be "Your story." :)

Yes! Beans to you! I can just imagine. At night, when you're paranoid, you've just killed 2 people, and are wondering if they have backup. You walk off into the darkness, and hear a noise! Turn your flashlight on, and a crow is just staring at you. Crows are creepy little birdies! Also maybe crows could be attracted to dead bodies, the longer they've been dead, the more they smell, so crows will be more attracted!

Sorry if this is considered a bump or whatever, 4 days isn't much is it? Anyway, I'd love these in the game! It would be AWESOME! I agree, it'd take a lot more skill to successfully use these, and 1 wrong move could ruin your life! This would add a lot of dynamics into the game, and would need more skill, what movement to use and when!

So, I know there have been a lot of threads like 'remove daylight 24/7 servers', but I have an OK solution! What we need, is something that makes players WANT to play at night. I don't know what, but something. Also, we need to have night time to have more tension, and be exciting. Maybe add some eerie street lamps in cities? Have floodlights scattered around, and lights fr buildings that turn on at night? Make it scary, make it exciting, make it enjoyable, but so it makes players poo their panties with horror at the same time! Nowhere is safe. Paranoia is the key! I remember the early days of 'Minecraft's development, night time was so exciting! People wouldn't just log on to a daytime server or whatever. But also make night time harder. We don't want people logging on to night time servers that are empty, just to get a job done easier. Have stealthy zombies, or if more people are on night servers, people will feel more paranoid and uneasy!

Wabbit, thanks! I agree completely! This may sound silly but I don't have the game yet :P so I don't know how tense it is ^^ but yeah, getting rid of NVGs would balance it quite a lot! Dr Duff, I wasn't trying to compare the 2, just saying how people (well, me at least) enjoyed playing night time! Doesn't seem that way in DayZ :3

Before I start, I just want to say I dot have DayZ yet, but have seen many videos and let's plays, so sorry if anything is wrong :) Basically, I think it'd be pretty cool to have a more suburban/village-y place in DayZ. I'm talking about loads of houses on a street. Most should be enter able, and there should be some ways for a player to mark their territory there and other interactive ideas: Barricades I think there should be an option to move some of the furniture in the house to block/ make it harder to enter a doorway. This would be really useful against zombies, but other players would be able to move the furniture out the way. Isolation I'm talking about using wooden planks to block small windows. This way you can look out a little crack between the planks to spot possible intruders, but still remain unseen. You would need wood to do this, and possible a hammer/nails/toolbox. Would take a few seconds per plank, and you can add up to 4 planks? Interactions Door bells would be pretty cool, but could alert nearby zombies. Light switches could also be cool, including a porch light. Have them on in the evening, then turn them off at night so you get no visitors. Zombies could be attracted to light? Personalisation How about signs? Could have a sign post in your front garden saying 'keep out' or 'back in 2' or 'watch your back...' or something. ^^ Storage Could have things like drawers, cupboards, chests, etc. household loot could be found, and also you can store things in them, but anyone could steal it! :P Hope you like these ideas :) I've tried my best to balance them, too. I think it would be cool, to have a little house as a base, but you'd have to watch over it. Shouldn't be too many houses, as it'd defeat the purpose of fighting for survival/sharing things. Sorry for any spelling mistakes/anything I've missed. Posting from my phone.

I think the UK could make for a good place. The small area I live in, is near Watford, and I think it would be an AWESOME place. I think they shouldn't stop daylight 24/7 servers, but make night time more enjoyable. Have some things where night would be awesome, like some loot that only spawns at night? Or have a few more lights in the city at night, and make it more atmospheric? ^-^ Sorry if anything here seems wrong, I don't have the game yet xD Just seen loads of videos :3

I don't have DayZ, so forgive me if I'm wrong, but I've seen a lot of videos on it, and thermal vision for weapons seems a bit over powered? Is it? Maybe could add the use of batteries, and thermal scopes would need batteries to operate? (Stupid idea, I know, sorry if you disagree, just an idea). Or maybe have the thermal scope limited in a way, because I've seen videos of people with thermal scoped seeing other players miles away, and those other players are helpless, and could be extremely hidden in a bush, in a good hiding spot, only to be found by a thermal. So, you guys have any ideas on how to balance the thermal scope on weapons? Once again, forgive me if the thermal scope is balanced, and not over powered. I don't have the game, I'm basing this off DayZ videos which I watch :) Sorry if this is wasting your time, thanks if you take this into account :)

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand. Do you mean... Wear... A dead zombie? :o How would that work? :P Like you rip them open, and just crawl inside? xD I like the zombie-camo idea, but I just don't think it'd be realistic to wear dead zombies as suits :o Maybe like a run down, old costume store could have a zombie suit once in a while? Would have to be REALLY rare. I dunno :P

Hi, I have a few suggestions for DayZ, and would like some feedback on them :) I know I've made quite a few suggestions, but now I will just update this thread with more suggestions I think of. -Sticky notes/Posters I think there should be an option to write little notes, and stick them up somewhere. It'd be cool to write something, such as "Mini Maracas was here" on a dead body, "Watch your back" on a car (To scare thieves > :D), "Party at NW Airfield" or something, and more things like that. -Infected animals We have models for normal animals, why not have some infected? The main thing I'm thinking of is dogs. We're going to have dogs in the game soon, why not infected dogs? :D They're faster, can hear you at a longer distance than most zombies, and are harder to shoot at, but there are less of them, they don't have the best eye sight, and have less health than human zombies. -Something that Zombies drop? This would give players more of a reason to kill zombies? After all, it is a zombie survival. Maybe players could be rewarded for killing more zombies? I was thinking of zombies dropping some sort of currency, but WarZ has this I believe, and it could be seen as copying. This links to my next point. -Currency (Hear me out on this one) I wasn't sure of this idea when I 1st thought of it, either. I think there should be some kind of currency, but there shouldn't be a shop. Who runs a shop in a zombie apocalypse? The currency should only be used for trading with other players. This could make the game so far, here are some examples of how currency could be used by the community: -Selling vehicles to players. -Betting/Gambling with friends -Selling weapons -More trading -Paying people to do jobs (Hitman, retrieve things, etc) -Wallet To hold the possible currency, and I've seen someone else mention an ID, which could be like dog tags, but more civilian-like. -Spray can? For drawing pictures/graffiti on some concrete walls. Could be used to kill someone, place their dead body next to a wall and make your mark on it. Make the people of Chernarus fear you! :D -Tape. Tape could have a lot of uses, but a main one I'm thinking of is that it could be used to tape up player's mouths, so they're unable to talk or type for a while, until they break free. This could be used to kidnap people, or if you knock someone unconscious, they won't be able to scream for help. You could tape people up before knocking them out, too, so if you find a player without his back being watched, tape up his mouth, then kill him. His friends could think he logged out, when he's in a bush, being looted :D -More Teamwork aspects Such as giving players a boost, so they can reach higher things. Could be used to vault friends over fences, allow them to climb through a window instead of using the front door, and more things. I will add more suggestions too, and if you also have any suggestions for the Mod/Upcoming standalone, post them here and I could add them :D

Thanks you two :) And yeah, I agree, currency is a bit odd, but I was thinking maybe I could add some trade aspects? Not just trading goods, but you could buy things with your money from other players, or pay people to do things for you. If only there was a sensible currency-like thing that people would have in a zombie apocalypse. :) -

I think there should be a tranquilizer gun and a tranquilizer rifle. The 'gun' is just a pistol, shorter range, 3 or 4 bullets before a reload, and a faster reload, and the rifle should be a sniper, 1 bullet reload, slower reload times, and a longer range :) That way, you could find an enemy, scope in, shoot him, walk up to his unconscious body, loot his stuff and run, without getting any murders :D The rifle would have to knock them out for longer, as you'd most probably be further away when you shoot them. -
Before I start, I know there still needs to be a lot of things fixed, but this idea could be implemented into the game after everything, around January time when Rocket said that they'll be taking risks :D So basically, do you think maybe there could be a possibility of horses in DayZ? I guess it'd be exciting, running around on a horse, but they would make a lot of noise, and make you a bigger target, plus if your horse gets shot, you fall off and, depending on what surface you land on and how fast you were going, the possibility of a broken leg or two? Now some of you may be thinking, "This is a stupid idea", but tell me why, I like to know other people's views on things. After all, the community plays a big part in DayZ!

Thanks a lot! You have my beans! ^-^ Can't wait for horses. I'd love to ride around on one! Yay :D And yeah, maybe you could get dogs and horses to co-operate in hunting somehow? The horse could be a distraction, and just as a zombie is about to strike, BAM, dog bite :D

I saw a post on the forum a while ago, and think the inventory would be better off like this: It would be cool, and you should be able to move items around, and rotate them. Some items you should be able to stack, but others not, and stack sizes should be different. :D
