Should we remove barbed wire in the next update
cranges replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I know im to late, but maybe you could reverse its effects on humans and zombies, we can walk through, but zombies are blocked. That way its a defensive tool against zombies, and cannot possibly annoy survivers. Also, the only kind of bared wire that in reality, can be climbed over is the kind that is the same as whats in the game except 2 metres high, or barb wire on top of a fence or wall. Other wise, theoreticly we should be able to go past a barewire cylinder as high as we can lift our legs.... -
Thats not the point HelicopterHunter is making.Sure you can inject morphine with broken leg then run, SOME servers theres free endless fuel in tank sure. But heres the thing, those are less broad, more gameplay/technicle things about the game. While a train would be a much wider aspect, affecting the entire game in general, not just different little things.

I have an opinion on LockDowns 7th tip. Obviousely a snipers true job is gathering intellegence. Even if your not relaying information to anyone, just remember. when you have a guillie suit, a sniper, and the element of supprise, you would be wasting your ability if you do not keep track of everything you see, and hear. When you have been observing a location for a while, with the right skills, you can overtime learn who is in that town or city. How many are there, what guns are being used, what viecles have been driven in and out. You can learn if teamwork is being used or not, exactly when a firefight begins or ends, how skillfull the survivers are. All this information can be gathered, simply by observing, and so when you switch servers, all of a sudden the location you have gathered all this information from is completely different. You don't know how many people there are, who has recently entered, etc. So don't switch server just because you can, because its much more dangerouse than simply changing posistions. just stick with the good old golden rule of sniping: Relocate!

I think a better way of doing this, is letting us have all these skills except we must learn them, so by repairing we will slowly repair faster, or by scoping and sniping we will get more accuracy over time. and we could see how good we are at all this stuff in a new stats board. For example one of the stats could be stamina. The more stamina you have obviousely the longer you can run without getting worn-out, that also means you can run longer without loosing accuracy.

What should our next competition be?
cranges replied to mattlightfoot's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think the best written journal would be perfect for DayZ. You can't be certain if its true or not but its easy to get inspired to write a DayZ story by playing it. I have had many events and encounters which are very unique to anything else and could only happan in something like Dayz, i would love to write a journal for the competition. -

The scanning rule reminds me of the time i was absolutely loaded, and as i was crawling accross a grassy field a new guy who litteraly only just spawned and found an axe snuck up behind me and killed me. What the fuck. But i dont blame myself i was low on blood, i was shaking like crazy, and everything was all grey, but still, things like that just make me think, in day z, there is no god.
