  1. So the server didn't reboot, instead someone teleported to the helicopter with an M240 and god mode... and killed me :). aha
  2. I would like to think trolling in the game by taking someone's stuff.. is much better than trolling on the forum. haha. bet the server reboots in the next 3 minutes.. lmfao.
  3. Sup, So I stole your helicopter... after killing [PH]Matt.. and someone duping their corpse at your camp.. Just wanted to say thanks... I'll probably end up banned from the server for posting but w/e lol.
  4. What's up guys, Yes I am currently bandit skinned, but it was in self defense~ lol.. come to think of it, it's deserved actually, since I did kill a group of 3 for not answering me when I asked them if they were friendly, I needed some soda/water... no answer so I killed all 3, and took what I needed. anyway.. that's besides the point. the reason I am here is I'm looking for a couple people to roll with, as well as a server to call home, I would prefer if it had 15+ people during daytime hours (on the server - regardless of when that might actually be for me, I play a lot). Who I'm looking for; - Players who have good map awareness; and can make good use of the terrain. - Do NOT kill unarmed players; or people with enfields unless they are a threat. - Players who get enjoyment out of counter sniping those pesky ghillie snipers on Dobbry/Cherno hills. - Players who first try to make contact with someone before killing them (unless they're carrying high grade weaponry, which would benefit yourself). Who I'm not looking for; - Elektro/Cherno Hill Snipers/Griefers - Ragers - People who alt-F4 in the face of danger, or when a teammate goes down. What I'm looking for server wise. - Active 15+ players @ Daytime hours - Active Admins - Clan owned is cool too if you have a TS3 server setup for the server - I would prefer the main hive on version 1.7.2.6 Anyone who's interested, can leave a post here or if you have a group of 2-3 people looking for one more I may be interested in meeting up with you guys. If you own a server, which fits the above criteria feel free to also leave a post, much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

DayZ - I have lost faith in you.

Personally, I spend a lot of time in NWAF/Stary Sobor... and hardly ever see a soul, even on servers with populations of 30+... cause they're all deathmatching in cherno/elektro anyways.. not that this gives reason to kill fresh spawns ( i don't kill anyone unarmed), even players carrying enfields are pretty safe unless they look at me for too long, or fire first lol.

DayZ - I have lost faith in you.

I just like how everyone assumes the person they just killed teleported behind them for some revenge.. considering we can't tell who has killed us...
  7. Why didn't you just answer me, when I asked if you were friendly.. I really only needed some water I wouldn't had killed you. now I have 3 murders over a cantine.. :( - P.S. I had just finished killing 2 bandits on Dobrry, so that humanity gain.. was kind of a waste..
  8. Personally, the first camp I ever found when I first started playing this game, I had the biggest adrenaline rush, and probably felt the most fear I have ever felt playing a video game (due to the possibility of the camp owners being around), I looted these tents, I got my friends to come and help empty this camp, we saved all the tents empty. we thought we were gonna make someone really upset/angry the next time they logged in, this was before we knew that the tents were just going to respawn all the shit inside.. so we're all happy we go back to playing.. the next day a friend dies, he says.. hey I'm gonna go back to that camp we found yesterday and just see if the people who own it came back... he gets there 10 minutes later.. over skype I hear.. "Holy shit, everything is back...", suddenly we didn't feel so good about it anymore, at least that's going to change, with this patch, at least I think it should. What's to say that the tents don't save on their own every so often, without the save option being selected? just like your character saves location to the hive every so often? Also, your idea about degrading tents, is actually really cool, and would be a neat feature of the game.. IMO.
  9. What's up all, So I think now that 1.7.2.6 is released, and the tents/vehicles now save properly, we might start seeing more action in the north, as the current tents (Everyone knows about, the ones that reset all loot inside on each server restart) from 1.7.2.5 ~ start to get emptied and saved, provided all those servers update to the current dayz version.. these tents/camps will slowly start to dissapear, I mean I know people will still be able to spawn in items, but I don't think 90% of the players spawn their own items, I think like 10% of players have hacks/cheats and can spawn items, so we'll slowly see a lot of the AS50 TWS, and other hacked guns slowly dissapearing. as people die with them and they no longer just respawn back in the tents at which they were obtained from. Personally, this opens up a lot more of the game again, at least over time I think it will.. and I've grown pretty tired of roaming the hills around Elektro/Cherno & all other coastal cities, killing snipers, who are killing new spawns they disconnect after dying to come back 15 mins later, fully geared again, as the tents slowly get cleaned up of duplicated items or at least have had their ability of respawning all items on server restart removed, people will actually need to go north, to loot places like NWAF/Stary Sobor, and this means we might get to see some more pvp in these area's that before duping, were always a place you could go to have a little fun. granted not all duping is fixed, but a major part of it is. and for those players who enjoy roaming the wilderness looking for player camps looting/destroying them, that brings a whole new level of satisfaction back to the game, now that when we destroy or loot these camps, the people who made them, will now know about it, as their items won't just return the next time the server reboots. [not related to 1.7.2.6] -- As for the hackers/cheaters whatever you want to call them, I know from experience in many online games, this is something that takes a long time to get rid of, and you will probably never be able to get rid of it 100%, I know a lot of the issues can't be fixed without changing the arma 2 engine, and this is why you're working on the standalone, a lot of the script abusing that allows the cheaters to teleport everyone into a bus or something is part of the arma 2 engine being easily modded (legitimately by players who develop missions and such). once that ability is removed, hopefully in the standalone, the cheaters will really only be able to use the same kind of cheats 90% of us deal with in other online FPS type games, such as wallhacks &/or aimbots, and at least then, these players will still be forced to somewhat play the game, they can't just come into the server, and press a button, kill everyone on the server at one time.. So, on that note, I would just like to say thank you to Rocket and the rest of the Dev team, for this great mod, and keep up the good work, most of the community appreciates it.

Poll: Reason to why you would leave DayZ?

I still play regardless of anything that is going on, I'm not too worried about bugs, as when I downloaded this mod, I knew it was an alpha, and expected there to be bugs.. that's why it is in alpha, so I can deal with these. but I would like to see some of the hacks dealt with, I mean I played CS for seven years, beta to 1.6 as well as source(competitively) and it had it's share of hackers.. but the hacks in this game (referring to DayZ) are much more detrimental, when a player can teleport you from where ever you are, into a vehicle or under a bus.. or w/e that shit really sucks, I could deal with the occasional aimbot/wallhack, the usual hacks you see in most online FPS type games, at least these require the hacker to find you first and actually play a little bit, with an advantage.. but this mod, on the arma 2 engine at least for now allows way to many other things to happen.. if they want to make you do push ups and drop grenades on yourself, they can do that... I also understand that dealing with hackers is very hard, because you might manage to detect "x hack" but, with all the people in the cheating community a new method of doing it is out a few days later... and as far as I'm concerned, if a game is online, and enough people play it, you will never stop hackers.. EVER.. but I'm pretty sure it would be possible to at least block the commands issued to your client to stop these things, if not in a patch, it would definately be possible in the standalone. and as I said before, people using aimbots/wallhacks in other games like CS or Quake, CoD/BF3... they hurt the game, but at least they can't join in a server, press a button and instantly kill everyone online, they're forced to play somewhat, just with an advantage...
  11. M4A1 CCO SD + M24.. sidearm doesn't really matter, could be a flashlight for all I care aha. :)
  12. northwest (put your back to the water, and turn a little left..) and I have a question for you lol.. do you watch League of Legends streamers? (more specifically Dyrus)
  13. Well that was fun while it lasted, aha. 25 players, then 30 players... guess what happened next.. I was teleported from near stary, to cherno.. under a bus, and killed haha.
  14. Strange because I got in before that reboot, and I'm using the 96493/95 beta patch.. as far as I know they're all backwards compatible, at least the beta patches. the problem is there's just too many servers, any time the population goes over 25 it seems to be a hacker magnet, then someone comes in and server wide kills everyone.. however this has only happened to me twice since I've started playing.. I've died to an invisible guy once too, heard him talking infront of me, then saw the smoke from the barrel of the SAW he shot me with. (I was in the 000,120 area west of kemenka basically no reason for anyone to go out there.. and too much playing on servers with 10-15 people, makes encounters less often, especially in the north (it feels this way anyways) sometimes its bad enough to where you feel like there's no one even in the game or you forget to be vigilant.
